Alden attempts to bluff a powerful dragon named Vareth by posing as a divine being named BoomBoom. When Vareth closes his eyes to witness Alden's supposed true form, Alden seizes the opportunity to escape, leaving the dragon enraged. Vareth transforms into his dragon form and begins hunting Alden, who desperately flees through the forest.

Beside a massive redwood tree, Aemirya sat. Her expression was completely cold and calm, but her mind was anything but.

The words of the boy she had met only a two months ago shouldn’t have meant anything. He was just someone she planned to use to win this ceremony. He was useful, perverse, and stupid...

And yet, his words had hurt her deeply.

She knew that useless expectations always carried the burden of disappointment, but...

Somewhere along the way, she had come to expect a certain level of emotional understanding and maturity from the boy.

Since childhood, she had grown up hearing curses, insults, and how her single horn was a stain upon the family. So when she met him and spent time with him, she had started considering him a friend, something she had never had in her entire life.

And yet...

He had said such harsh words to her when all she had asked was for him to care about his own life. Unlike her, his life wouldn’t be saved just because he was close to death. If he were to die here, it would truly be the end for him.

That was why she had tried to warn him about the danger posed by the remaining candidates, especially her cousin, Vareth.

"That selfish bastard!"

She cursed, punching the massive tree beside her. Its thick trunk trembled under the force, causing autumn leaves to rain to the ground.

"Who does he think he is?!"

She punched again, her imprint sinking even deeper into the bark.

"He could die for all I care. I won’t care about him even if he comes begging for my help." She muttered with a determined expression. "I hope he goes to a desolate hell suited for a perverse bastard like him."

She continued punching the tree again and again, her expression remaining completely cold, when suddenly she felt a presence approaching through the thick forest before her.

The presence drew closer and closer before a boy burst out of the forest.

A familiar boy.

Damien.

She thought, a small smile threatening to appear on her face. But she wasn’t someone easy to appease. Even if only partially, she was descended from arrogant dragons. She had no intention of forgiving the boy just because he came crying back to her.

Still, she rose from her place, curious to hear what he had to say.

As his eyes landed on her, his expression shifted through countless emotions but something felt strange. As he rushed closer and closer to her, he didn’t slow down in the slightest.

Still, she didn’t think much of it and turned her head slightly to the side.

"I am not going to forgive you so easily."

She said, her voice calm and final.

He looked at her for a second as he came within a few steps of her, his face blank as if wondering what she was talking about before opening his mouth.

She wondered what kind of apology he would offer, but instead—

"Run!!!"

That was all he said before dashing past her like the wind.

Aemirya blinked.

"...What?"

She looked at him blankly and only then did her gaze drift toward the direction he had come from.

Some distance away...

She could see not one but two whole white dragons, completely enraged, flying toward them while spewing dragon breath in all directions.

She recognised them both.

They were her cousins.

Vareth and Valerie.

Only then did Aemirya’s expression change. Without a moment’s hesitation, she turned and bolted after Damien with all her speed.

***

Alden thought as he looked back on the miserable events of the last few minutes.

Just a few minutes ago, he had been running from an enraged male dragon, trying desperately to find Aemirya. He hoped that with her help, he would somehow be able to deal with that bastard.

He ran desperately and eventually his Spirit Domain picked up a presence eerily similar to Aemirya’s. In his rush, he immediately assumed it was her.

So he ran even faster.

He sensed that presence beyond some bushes and jumped without a moment’s hesitation. Right beside them was a beautifully calm pond and within it was a female dragon with hair as white as snow, red eyes and pale skin, a description that should have matched Aemirya’s.

But only...

She wasn’t Aemirya.

And to make matters worse, she was completely naked, taking a bath in the pond.

And if that wasn’t enough for his miserable fate...

The way he had jumped caused him to fall directly onto her.

The woman was shocked for only a moment but by then Alden had already bolted with all his might because he knew...

... he was already in hell.

True to his expectations, within minutes, another enraged white dragon had begun chasing after him, eyes filled with murderous intent as she spewed dragon breath everywhere.

To make matters worse, instead of fighting the male dragon like any good and responsible dragon would have done, she somehow joined him in hunting Alden down.

Only now had he finally come across Aemirya but even she was cursing him and acting like a tsundere, thinking he had come to apologise.

As she ran after him with no less speed than his own, she roared loudly.

"YOU BASTARD!!! You didn’t come to apologise and instead you brought two of my cousins in that enraged state. Are you trying to eliminate me or what?!"

He didn’t slow down and looked at her with a trembling smile.

"...It’s a misunderstanding! Anyway, welcome back, Aemirya!"

She wasn’t convinced.

"Misunderstanding my ass... If only you had listened to my warnings and stayed cautious. And you just had to bring the strongest among the remaining candidates."

She cursed, something Alden hadn’t seen her do so much ever since he met her.

"How the hell are we supposed to defeat them, you perverted idiot?!"

A vein popped on Alden’s forehead as he pointed behind them at the two dragons in pursuit.

"Why don’t you ask them?!"
