Celestial Bloodline Chapter 1006: I’m here!
Previously on Celestial Bloodline...
While still speechless, Cassian failed to notice the faint golden glow spilling from Kyle’s cold palm. It silently seeped into his shoulder, spreading throughout his body before disappearing beneath his clothes.
Pulling his hand back, Kyle then pointed toward Yue, who was standing far away. She immediately smiled back at him. He had already whispered to her that he had noticed some old acquaintances on the battlefield before he had disappeared.
"That is my beautiful wife."
Cassian’s eyebrow twitched. Ah... So Kyle came all the way here just to show off.
Seriously?
But Kyle wasn’t done. He turned toward Jian, Sinon, Asher, Nine, and Regius, who had followed him, and pointed at Cassian.
"This is a friend I made in this realm. His name is Cassian. He’s quite a good guy."
Cassian blinked.
He was momentarily surprised.
Then, the faint smile at the corners of his lips slowly grew wider as a warm feeling settled within his chest. For some reason, hearing Kyle, who had always seemed so aloof and indifferent to him, introduce him so casually made those simple words feel far more meaningful than they should’ve.
He nodded.
"Yes, we are friends."
Jian chuckled, flashing Kyle a grin.
"We know him. We met earlier. He saved us from that prison when Yizhe captured us."
Suddenly, Kyle continued, a faint frown appearing on his expressionless face.
"There was another one. He was quite short... had white hair and an annoying habit of pretending to be weak. But I don’t know what happened to him after I left."
Kyle paused before letting out a sigh.
"I haven’t felt any trace of him since my awareness ascended. Perhaps he died."
Clan Leader Ares, who had been secretly listening to every word, nearly screamed.
I’m here!
Your second friend is right here!
Look at me! I’m literally standing right before you! Just tilt your head! Damn it!
Unfortunately, he couldn’t move a single muscle. And the reason why he couldn’t move—Kyle was just declaring him dead?!
Clan Leader Ares was absolutely certain Kyle was doing this deliberately. This guy!
After Kyle’s soul had scattered, Ares had recklessly gone to war against the Rulers and eventually ended up imprisoned. Only recently, when Cassian and Zami came to save Kyle’s friend, had he finally escaped.
And this was the reward he received for trying to get revenge for this guy? He had been declared dead while being right here!
Ares could only glare at Kyle solemnly, silently cursing him deep in his heart.
Just wait until I can move again!
But unfortunately, even after Kyle let out a sigh for the second time and then left with his wife, Ares still couldn’t move. He was so angry he felt like he might faint on the spot!
Unlike him, Zami, Silver, and Gvette had already regained their ability to move the moment Kyle went to speak with Cassian.
Even Draevor and the Rulers following his command had regained the ability to move.
It looked like Kyle was really deliberately targeting Ares. Perhaps it was simply to prevent him from getting too excited after being introduced as a friend and rushing over to flaunt to the entire world that he—the leader of the Golden Guardians Clan—was not just acquainted with but also a close friend of the formidable Ice Devil.
And anyone who knew Ares even a little understood that he would do just that.
So, watching Ares’s angry gaze, they tried their best to keep their expressions under control and suppress their laughter. None of them dared to reveal that they were free.
They knew his temper.
If Ares found out they had been able to move this entire time while he remained frozen in place, his anger would probably explode and reach another level entirely.
They simply watched Kyle’s fading back.
Just as Kyle and Yue vanished from the battlefield, the countless Celestials frozen in place finally regained their mobility.
Ares gritted his teeth in frustration.
But unfortunately, the person he was furious with had already left the place.
There was no way for him to chase after Kyle either. After all, he couldn’t even feel his presence, nor could he determine his location. With no other outlet for his fury, Ares could only turn his attention toward the Winged Warriors and Armored Giants.
However, to his surprise, the moment the Celestials on the enemy side regained their ability to move, they instantly surrendered.
The Winged Warriors and Armored Giants lowered their weapons one after another, their fighting spirit completely gone. With all their leaders dead, there was no longer any reason for them to continue fighting.
Anyway, most of these people had never been truly loyal to the elders or the Rulers.
Their true loyalty lay with whoever controlled the Bridge of Divinity.
Many of them had signed soul contracts long ago, while others had been deceived into signing them when they first arrived in the Celestial Realm. These contracts bound them to serve the guardians of the Bridge of Divinity, forcing them to follow whoever held authority over it—even if they had no desire to do so.
The remaining ones had simply followed the elders of the Golden Hall of Light and the Rulers for resources and the benefits that came with serving powerful leaders.
Now that those leaders were dead, their contracts and allegiance had effectively lost their purpose entirely. There was no reason for them to throw their lives away fighting for those who were already dead.
For them, after seeing Kyle, surrendering was simply the most sensible choice.
With the battlefield finally falling silent, many of them were already considering fleeing. Some even considered following the followers of the Ice Devil. After seeing his power firsthand, they knew better than anyone else that Kyle was now the most powerful being in the Celestial Realm.
If they could become his followers...
They might just directly secure the safest and most powerful backing imaginable!
So, the moment the Winged Warriors and Armored Giants surrendered, they lowered their bodies in a deep bow toward Ares.
"From this moment onward, we all pledge our allegiance to you, Clan Leader Ares!"
Their sudden declaration left Ares—who was speechless that they had surrendered before he could even beat a few of them to vent his fury—completely dumbfounded.
One of the strongest Winged Warriors even stepped forward and suggested that Ares take control of the Golden Hall of Light and the Bridge of Divinity, which connected all the lower Universes to the Celestial Realm.
Ares rubbed his temples. All his thoughts could be summarized in one sentence:
What the hell?
Ultimately, he turned toward Zami.
"Hey... do you want to become an elder? The position of the leading elder of the Golden Hall of Light seems to be vacant—"
He hadn’t even finished speaking before Guardian Zami disappeared. She already had more than enough on her plate dealing with the clan’s affairs. There was no damn way she was going to take on another job!
Silver and Gvette vanished as well, and it was before Ares could even look their way.
Draevor and his people vanished too.
Ares’s brow twitched.
He then turned toward the leaders of the allied Clans who had joined his clan in the battle, a smile slowly lighting up his face.
"How—"
He didn’t even get the chance to start.
One after another, the old geezers all vanished, each saying they had suddenly remembered something important.
