Celestial Bloodline Chapter 1004: They’re beautiful

~5 minute read · 1,159 words

Yue’s eyes reddened as she tightened her hold on his hand. She looked into his eyes before reaching for the pair of silver rings hanging from the chain around her wrist.

She pulled them free.

With a faint click, the chain came loose, and she carefully removed the larger ring.

Kyle’s hand felt cold against hers, as it always did. Still holding his hand, Yue separated their intertwined fingers and slipped the ring onto his ring finger.

Her voice was almost a whisper.

"Okay."

Kyle stared at the ring now resting on his finger. His gaze lowered for a moment, a faint trace of apology flashing in his eyes.

He had... forgotten about this.

Something so important.

But she still remembered.

Without another word, he took the other ring from Yue’s hand and gently slipped it onto her finger. Then, he lowered his head and pressed a soft kiss to her ring finger.

"They’re beautiful."

Everyone around them tentatively stepped back, finally turning their attention toward the Rulers struggling on the cold platform.

Mia and Elli both moved aside.

Nine, Sinon, Regius, and Asher, however, rolled up their sleeves with evil smiles. The others followed, dragging the Rulers away from the cold platform before unleashing all their anger. Jian even stepped forward and kicked one of them before sneering.

"How does it feel getting beaten up by people you could have easily killed?"

"How does it feel to be so powerless?"

The Rulers couldn’t even scream. Their bodies were restrained by Kyle, leaving them unable to speak or beg for mercy.

The only sounds reverberating across the frozen grounds were the heavy impacts of fists and kicks, punctuated occasionally by the crisp crack of breaking bones. Even Bia eventually joined in, venting her anger.

By the time everyone finally stopped, the Rulers looked miserable, their once-proud appearances reduced to a sorry state.

Among the Rulers, Yizhe and Mirabel seemed to have suffered the most.

Jian wiped his hand with a disgusted expression before looking back at Kyle.

"We’re done."

Kyle didn’t even bother walking over. He simply turned his gaze toward the Rulers.

The next moment, everyone watching witnessed what true despair looked like.

The Rulers’ bodies were effortlessly lifted from the ground, their expressions twisting with terror and agony. For several seconds, they struggled violently, as if in immense pain. When their eyes lost even the last bit of hope, they actually tried to self-destruct.

But before they could do so, their bodies froze in place, turning into white ice. In the blink of an eye, they completely vanished into nothingness, leaving nothing behind.

Alec turned to Kyle and asked hesitantly.

"What did you do?"

Kyle’s casual answer made everyone around him break into a cold sweat.

"Nothing much. I just froze time for them and let both their souls and awareness experience a thousand years of agony."

He paused briefly.

"It’s just a pity. They lost the will to live before even a few years had passed."

Jian wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and let out a dry chuckle.

"A pity. Yes... a real pity."

Nine immediately suggested.

"Let’s leave this place."

Kyle agreed. Holding Yue’s hand, he just stepped forward and tore open the space before him, creating a spatial passage.

Watching his vanishing back, the others hesitated for a moment. In the end, they gritted their teeth and followed behind.

Only after everyone on the platform had vanished did the ordinary Celestials who had been hiding nearby finally emerge.

Some had crossed the boundary on the opposite side of the platform, following Alec’s group and the Rulers. Others had entered after the massive ice creatures trying to kill them vanished and hurriedly concealed themselves in the surroundings after seeing the powerful Rulers try to kill Alec’s group before turning on each other.

Afterward, Kyle—the one everyone in the realm called the Devil—appeared, making them even more reluctant to step out. Only now did they feel safe enough to emerge.

The Celestials exchanged wary glances.

One of them tentatively whispered.

"He probably sensed us..."

Immediately, another slapped him across the back of the head, glaring furiously.

"Even if he did, he didn’t expose us! That means Kyle didn’t care! Or do you want to call him back so he can kill us too, just like he effortlessly killed Yizhe and others?"

The first Celestial immediately shook his head, almost like a rattle drum, horrified.

"No! No! I don’t! I only entered this place because the barrier around it disappeared! I’m not even one of those participants who were taking the test to join the Rulers Clan!"

"Don’t jinx it! I don’t want to die!"

Everyone around the two chimed in.

"Yes! I was only just passing by and accidentally entered this place!"

"I didn’t even know this was where the Rulers were conducting some test!"

"I was just following the crowd! I swear!"

"I don’t even know what happened here!"

"I didn’t see anything! I didn’t hear anything!"

Another Celestial hurriedly raised both hands.

"I wasn’t even here! You didn’t see me, right?"

The others stared at him.

"...You’re literally standing right there."

He immediately lowered his hands.

"Right. Forget I said anything."

Hearing him, they all fell silent. After a moment, one of them nervously asked,

"But the news that the Ice Devil is back... that’s huge. What if he suddenly comes back to silence us for knowing too much?"

The moment those words were spoken, they scattered like frightened birds, fleeing the area and rushing back home to hide.

Never would they ever dare to get involved with anything related to the Rulers or enter unknown places out of greed for treasures!

Never again in their remaining lives!

Meanwhile, Kyle, Yue, and those following behind the couple finally stepped out of the frozen grounds, only to be greeted by the sight of a full-scale battle raging outside.

On one side were Ares, Draevor, Cassian, and several other Rulers under Draevor’s command.

Guardian Zami, Silver, Gvette, and many from Ares’s clan were also among them, alongside leaders and members from many allied Clans who had joined the conflict.

It seemed that after quickly dealing with everything at the Rulers’ territory, Zami had rushed here with her allies to join the fight.

Opposing them were Osko and the other arrogant elders of the Golden Hall of Light, leading their forces of countless Winged Warriors and Armored Giants into the fray.

The messy battlefield stretched as far as the eye could see, filled with clashes of power and the deafening roar of battle.

Kelvin exclaimed in surprise.

"Wow, the Rulers’ people are still fighting even though all their leaders are dead?"

Jian smirked at his words.

"They probably don’t know."
