Celestial Bloodline Chapter 1002: I’m sorry, my dear
In the silence, Kyle took a step forward.
He didn’t use any natural laws.
Nor any form of energy.
Yet his figure was already before Yue.
He knelt in front of the woman, who had fallen from Mirabel’s overwhelming power when Mirabel had rushed forward to seize the Celestial Symbol. Gently, one by one, Kyle pried Yue’s trembling fingers from the ice sword she still clutched so tightly, his movements careful as he spoke softly.
"I’m sorry, my dear."
Yue’s eyes blurred with tears.
Yet she didn’t look away from the eyes staring at her. Not even for a moment.
Her lips trembled, and in the end, all she could do was choke out a few words.
"Why...? Where did you go...?"
Kyle tossed the ice sword he had taken from her hands aside before pulling Yue into his arms, his grip impossibly tight.
His unusually calm eyes flickered with remorse that no one around noticed.
To think... at some point, after his soul scattered and his awareness ascended to the Origin World, he had wished to cease existing—to simply vanish from existence—because, amidst the endless emptiness and ethereal power, he had been unable to find a path back for thousands of years.
During that endless stretch of time and silence, he had nearly forgotten everything—including the people waiting for him here.
But now, holding the person he loved so much in his arms, he finally realized just how deeply that wish had hurt the people waiting for him, those he had left behind.
He had been consumed by his own loneliness and helplessness.
And if not for Yue pulling the ice sword—the only thing Kyle had managed to leave behind after his awareness ascended, the very thing that had kept his scattered soul in the plane of life—he might have simply dissolved into natural laws themselves.
He would have become the strongest existence, yet without emotions, without any attachments, and without even a true sense of self—an existence that could only silently watch over the entire world from above, indifferent to everything within it.
Kyle slowly lowered his head, burying his face against Yue’s shoulder as he took a deep breath, savoring her familiar scent.
One of his hands gently rubbed her back, his movements unhurried and reassuring.
For a moment, he stayed silent, simply holding her as though reluctant to let go.
He seemed to be searching for the right words to explain everything to her. Only after a long silence did he finally speak.
"I was... no, the fragments of my soul were always here. Right beside you all."
His voice was soft.
"Just my awareness wasn’t. So, what was left could only instinctively find and chase you all and help in whatever way it could."
"Only when all of you ascended to the Celestial Realm did the fragments of my soul finally gather in one single place."
Yue cried even harder after hearing his words, her arms tightening around him.
Kyle didn’t say anything more. He simply tried to calm the person crying in his arms.
The reason he hadn’t appeared instantly after the ice sword was pulled was that the place where the fragments of his soul had gathered wasn’t this snow-white platform.
It was the silver-blue lake surrounded by a massive sea of ice flowers—the very place Amon, Caria, and Leon had once passed by.
Suddenly, Kyle felt a soft weight settle on his head. The sensation was very familiar.
He slightly loosened his hold on Yue, raising one hand to gently poke the little bird that had just landed on his head, his calm voice tinged with amusement.
"Don’t tell me the powerful, majestic Celestial Phoenix is crying too? Hmm?"
Bia nearly bit his finger in indignation.
But in the end, she held herself back.
With a disgruntled snort, she instead deliberately started messing up his hair.
Kyle chuckled, making no attempt to stop the angry phoenix. At that moment, a soft cough suddenly sounded from behind him. It was Jian, who had walked over at some point, a trace of a smile evident in his voice.
"Hey, what about the Rulers? All of them fled while you weren’t paying attention."
Yue finally released Kyle, causing him to sigh softly as his head was pushed back.
Watching Yue stand up, her face flushed with embarrassment behind the veil, two words surfaced in his mind: How cute.
He reluctantly rose as well.
But before Kyle could take a step, he felt Yue tightly grasp the corner of his sleeve.
A faint smile flickered in his eyes.
He reached down and took her hand, then turned toward Jian and narrowed his eyes.
"Fled?"
Jian noticed their clasped hands. His tongue clicked as he glanced toward the direction in which the Rulers had fled.
"Yep, they all fled. And one of them even absorbed your pretty Celestial Symbol."
Alec and Asher, the two, also walked over with many others, their eyes scanning Kyle.
There was no Celestial aura around him.
Almost as if he were an ordinary human.
Yet they knew he wasn’t.
The space around Kyle felt untouchable—too vast, too ethereal, as though the tall man standing right before them no longer belonged to the same level of existence as them. Even standing only a few steps away, they felt as if he were impossibly far away.
Watching the crowd, Nox, whose severed horn had regrown, stared pointedly at the little crimson bird perched on Kyle’s head, his blue eyes filled with a look of betrayal.
He slowly transformed into a human, secretly letting out an aggrieved sound.
Bia had never transformed into that small form after Kyle left. She had even told him that she couldn’t do it anymore when he had once asked her to transform into it!
Such a liar!
And now, look at her. She had instantly turned into a little bird after seeing Kyle!
But no matter how much Nox grumbled, with everyone’s attention fixed on Kyle, no one noticed the lynx’s pitiful appearance.
