Lou Ziling confronts Wu Wei about sending incriminating photos to Jing Xi. Wu Wei confesses and taunts Lou Ziling and Fu rongting, but is swiftly arrested and imprisoned on multiple charges. Later, Lou Ziling and a pregnant Jing Xi coincidentally meet Fu rongting and Zuo Jia by a lake, leading to playful banter and competitive displays of affection between the couples.

Zuo Jia had always cherished tranquility, never one for competition and typically humble towards others. However, Jing Xi, whom she encountered this day, presented a peculiar contrast. Despite her pregnancy, she remained remarkably spirited.

Consequently, Zuo Jia found herself becoming more animated as well.

Fu Rongting was the first to successfully catch a fish. Zuo Jia applauded, her praise for Fu Rongting unreserved. "Hubby, you're incredible!"

Fu Rongting was taken aback. Zuo Jia had never referred to him as "hubby" before. Had Jing Xi's earlier use of the term today acted as a trigger?

The endearment felt wonderfully pleasant. Fu Rongting's mood brightened considerably, as clear as the weather, and the couple beside them suddenly seemed far less bothersome.

Jing Xi disliked the idea of Lou Ziling being outdone, especially since his wife had previously harbored feelings for Lou Ziling.

With a frown, she abruptly stood and cast some fish food into the lake directly in front of Lou Ziling.

A school of fish swiftly converged, and Lou Ziling instantly reeled in a substantial catch.

"Honey, that fish is enormous!" Jing Xi cheered. "Some people catch fish so tiny they wouldn't even fill the gaps between your teeth!"

Lou Ziling felt an urge to laugh. He had anticipated that Jing Xi would mature and steady herself after becoming pregnant. He hadn't expected her to remain so endearingly childish and vibrant, as if eternally eighteen.

"You're cheating," he murmured into Jing Xi's ear. "Does that even count?"

"Of course, it counts! Tomorrow, I'll give you more fish food. Those fish are accustomed to your food, so they definitely won't take anyone else's bait! They won't catch a single fish, Hmph!"

She let out a soft snort, her tone brimming with triumph, as if she now commanded the entire lake.

Lou Ziling gazed at the glistening lake, contemplating the potential bankruptcy he'd face if he had to habituate fish to his bait while simultaneously preventing them from favoring others.

His intention was merely to fish for enjoyment, not to undertake private lake management as a fishery.

Not taking her words entirely seriously, assuming it was a jest, he tossed the fish into the plastic bucket and resumed his fishing.

While Lou Ziling and Fu Rongting were engaged in fishing, the two women continued their spirited competition. Each believed her husband to be the finest man alive, showering them with endless praise.

Lou Ziling gave little thought to Jing Xi's compliments, but Fu Rongting had never experienced such overt appreciation from Zuo Jia. Her praising him now, especially in front of Lou Ziling, filled him with immense satisfaction.

It was evident Zuo Jia had truly moved past Lou Ziling; her heart belonged solely to him. For Fu Rongting, this was the most significant reward from their day of fishing.

On their journey home, Fu Rongting held Zuo Jia's hand with a firm grip, his heart swelling with the joy of her complete devotion.

Sensing Fu Rongting's unusual elation, Zuo Jia inquired, "Rongting, is something amiss?"

Fu Rongting tilted his head and then gently kissed her forehead. "Nothing at all. I had a wonderful time today. We should go fishing together more often."

Zuo Jia cherished Fu Rongting's tender kiss. His lips, cool and soft against her forehead, made her feel cherished, like a precious treasure.

She, too, felt profoundly happy this day. Despite consistently being outdone by Jing Xi, Zuo Jia placed little importance on winning or losing. As long as Fu Rongting trusted and understood her heart, the fate of the world seemed insignificant.

Upon returning home, Fu Rongting expertly prepared the freshly caught, plump fish. Zuo Jia, instead of assisting as usual, embraced him from behind, holding him close.

He truly looked striking while cooking!

His long legs and upright posture, combined with a white casual shirt and slender fingers expertly wielding a knife, created a smooth, visually appealing scene.

Zuo Jia lightly touched Fu Rongting's firm chest muscles, a shy smile gracing her lips.

He felt so solidly built!

The warmth radiating from Fu Rongting enveloped Zuo Jia. She closed her eyes contentedly, pressing her face against his back, and asked with a hint of melancholy, "Rongting, have you ever been in a relationship before? Did you ever like any girl?"

"Why the sudden question? Isn't it a bit late to ask after we're already married?"

Sensing his evasion, Zuo Jia's heart ached. She opened her mouth and playfully bit his back. "Did you? It's alright, just tell me, and I promise I won't make a fuss!"

Fu Rongting's eyes twinkled with amusement. He detected the jealousy in Zuo Jia's tone. She even claimed she wouldn't pursue it! If he admitted to liking someone else, she'd likely banish him from the bed for the night, forcing him to sleep rough!

"Don't let your imagination run wild. I never had the time for dating. The military academy was incredibly demanding, with special training every single day. I was so exhausted I could fall asleep standing up. Even if a woman had thrown herself at me, I wouldn't have had the energy to reciprocate."

“Are there other girls flocking to you?”

Fu Rongting found himself unsure whether to laugh or cry, surprised by her peculiar focus. Was she taking his analogy too seriously? Still, he relished the feeling of making her jealous. Turning, Fu Rongting pecked Zuo Jia’s lips and whispered, “Silly girl, I’ve belonged to you from head to toe. I’ve never been in love before, nor have I ever liked anyone else.”

It was a perfect answer. Zuo Jia smiled, her grip on Fu Rongting’s back unwavering, following him wherever he went. Though Fu Rongting’s movements were slightly hindered, he cherished Zuo Jia’s clinginess and allowed her to hold him. Consequently, it took him over half an hour to prepare their meal.

“I don’t think I need to eat,” Zuo Jia declared.

“Why not?” Fu Rongting asked, puzzled.

Zuo Jia stood on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek. “Because I have someone who’s a feast for the eyes right here!”

Fu Rongting chuckled. “And you’re a feast for the eyes yourself, aren’t you?” She had actually learned to tease him! Remarkable progress, truly commendable!

Life grew increasingly sweeter. The two adored each other as if they had just fallen in love, not as a married couple. They were inseparable, finding even a second apart too long. Thus, when Fu Rongting was assigned another mission, Zuo Jia held him tightly, unwilling to let him leave.

Initially, Zuo Jia had only considered Fu Rongting’s work to be somewhat perilous. She had never imagined their separation would prove so devastating! From the moment she learned of Fu Rongting’s departure, Zuo Jia wept through the entire night. Fu Rongting’s heart ached for her, and he repeatedly kissed her to offer comfort.

This mission was slated to last about a month, and Fu Rongting dreaded the prolonged separation from Wang Wiai. What if someone preyed on her in his absence? What if she cried herself to sleep at night, missing him deeply? Fu Rongting, a man who had never shed tears, possessed fortitude beyond ordinary comprehension. Yet, at this moment, his eyes reddened. “Jiajia, I love you! I’ll return soon, I promise! Be good and wait for me at home. Don’t miss me too much… No, you absolutely must miss me!”
