Wu Wei, seeking revenge after her failed attempt to conquer Fu Rongting, becomes a wealthy socialite and plots to destroy the happiness of Zuo Jia and Jing Xi. She sends incriminating photos of Lou Ziling and Zuo Jia to Jing Xi, causing a temporary rift, but Lou Ziling manages to pacify her. Meanwhile, Fu Rongting, also misled by photos of Zuo Jia and Lou Ziling, confronts Zuo Jia and initiates divorce proceedings, believing she still harbors feelings for Lou Ziling and cannot move on from their past.

“I refuse a divorce! Fu Rongting, where are you? I have absolutely nothing to do with him; you must hear my explanation!”

Zuo Jia dissolved into tears, bolting from the house and running onto the street alone. She frantically called out for Fu Rongting, her search for him growing desperate.

“Listen to me, I no longer harbor feelings for him. I was merely assisting him, and I won’t see him again. Rongting, please don’t leave! Where are you? I’m coming to find you!”

“Jia Jia, you’re outside?” Fu Rongting, hearing the intermittent car horns and the sound of Zuo Jia’s hurried footsteps, immediately rose from the sofa. “Come back inside; it’s cold out there!”

“If you don’t tell me where you are, I’m not coming home!” Fortunately, Zuo Jia knew Fu Rongting’s greatest vulnerability: his deep affection for her would prevent him from simply doing nothing if she refused to return home.

As expected, after a period of her tearful pleas, Fu Rongting relented and disclosed his location. He was staying in a hotel remarkably close to Zuo Jia’s residence. She arrived at his door within minutes.

The moment Fu Rongting opened the door, Zuo Jia lunged into his embrace, weeping, “How could you do this? We’re just leaving like that!”

“Aren’t you happy that I’m leaving?” Fu Rongting held her, his voice gentle. “I’m not!”

“Alright, stop crying now. Be good, your eyes are already red from all the tears.” Although Fu Rongting could have maintained a hardened heart and departed if Zuo Jia hadn't been present, witnessing her profound sadness made it impossible for him to utter the word “divorce.”

“Then don’t go. I’ve been waiting for you to return home every single day, yet you never did!” Zuo Jia’s tears continued to fall. Reaching out, she cradled Fu Rongting’s face, her voice choked with sobs and thick with sorrow. “Don’t you like me anymore? You can’t do this to me. I like you, and you’ve stopped liking me!”

The girl’s hand, cool yet incredibly soft and delicate, touched Fu Rongting’s face, melting his resolve. “It’s not that I don’t like you. On the contrary, it’s precisely because I like you so much that I want to leave. The thought of you liking someone else, of you going on dates with another man, is too much for me. I’m not magnanimous enough to accept seeing my wife being intimate with another man.”

Zuo Jia shook her head vehemently. “I didn’t! My father imposed stringent conditions on him, making it impossible for many of his company’s projects to proceed. No one could assist him except me!” Fu Rongting felt a pang of uncertainty in his heart, unsure whether to believe Zuo Jia’s explanation. His inherent soldier’s decisiveness proved useless against Zuo Jia; her tears shattered his defenses.

Fu Rongting embraced Zuo Jia, gently stroking her back, offering comfort and reassurance. That night, Zuo Jia remained with him in the hotel room, unwilling to depart. Nestled in Fu Rongting’s arms, she still felt a sense of unease. “Rongting, don’t you believe me?”

Fu Rongting remained silent, his heart still harboring doubts. He couldn’t easily believe Zuo Jia would forget Lou Ziling. After a moment’s thought, he retrieved his phone and displayed the photos to Zuo Jia. She gasped in shock and guilt upon seeing them, never imagining someone would photograph her meeting with Lou Ziling and send the images to Fu Rongting.

The captured moments, like her stumbling in the cafe and Lou Ziling reaching out to help, appeared as if he were embracing her. In every photo, her gaze towards Lou Ziling seemed undeniably affectionate! It was no wonder Fu Rongting was enraged!

“These pictures are incredibly misleading, Rongting. Please don’t believe them!” Her face was etched with anxiety, her clear eyes filled with worry, a palpable fear of losing him. She had never been adept at deception, nor did she find pleasure in it. Her acting skills were subpar, and at this moment, her true emotions were laid bare.

Fu Rongting gazed at the girl in his arms, his voice softening. “Alright, I won’t believe them. But it’s true that you met him, isn’t it? If you truly need to see him again, can you bring me along? Or, he can reach out to me directly if he requires assistance.”

Zuo Jia stared at him, bewildered. After a long pause, she finally spoke, “You’re not angry anymore? I was so terrified you’d actually divorce me. I won’t see him again; I’ve already let him go in my heart, truly!”

Fu Rongting planted a gentle kiss on her lips. “You can have friends of the opposite sex, but preferably not him. It makes me jealous. We won’t get divorced. We’ll be together forever, until we’re old. From a very young age, I wished for you to be my bride. Jia Jia, my love for you runs much deeper than you can possibly imagine!”

Zuo Jia’s heart ached. She embraced Fu Rongting tightly, her lips and cheeks meeting his. She felt an overwhelming sense of missed opportunities. She had once believed she missed out on Lou Ziling, but now she realized the one she truly missed out on was Fu Rongting. They should have fallen in love much earlier! If she had fallen for Lou Ziling sooner, Lou Ziling would never have even registered in her eyes.

If only she could rewind the clock; she would choose to become his bride from their youth!

Zuo Jia's unusually forward behavior left Fu Rongting somewhat taken aback. He could clearly sense the deep affection emanating from her kiss.

She had transformed so much since the beginning of their marriage. Things were steadily improving!

Holding her close, Fu Rongting's fingers gently traced paths beneath her clothing, a tender caress.

From her very being to the depths of her heart, she belonged to him. This realization brought an immense sense of joy!

Unable to resist, he guided Zuo Jia beneath him, quickly shedding her garments. "Jiajia, let's have a child, alright?"

A blush of embarrassment colored Zuo Jia's cheeks, yet she softly replied, "Okay, but will you still divorce me after we have a child?"

Fu Rongting lowered his head, pressing his lips to hers. "I won't divorce you, child or no child. As long as you love me, I will always love you. My love for you will surpass yours for me!"

His voice, low and husky, resonated with a profound, passionate emotion. All the love he had long kept hidden within his heart, carefully concealed from Zuo Jia, was now unleashed without restraint!

Their bodies entwined, skin against skin, the frantic beat of each other's hearts a palpable rhythm.

It had been a considerable time since Fu Rongting had been intimate with Zuo Jia, making this encounter exceptionally prolonged.

Seemingly boundless in his stamina, he had been with Zuo Jia so many times that her entire frame now ached with exhaustion.

Her yielding softness and undeniable allure completely captivated Fu Rongting. He held her tenderly, his tongue playfully tracing the sensitive skin of her earlobe as he whispered, "Shall we take a bath together?"

Zuo Jia pouted, her gaze fixed on him. With a slight pout, she asked, "Won't you tease me in the shower?"

"Absolutely not!"

"Are you sure?"

"Completely true! If I lie, may I become a little dog!"

Convinced by his solemn promise, Zuo Jia agreed to join Fu Rongting for a bath.

However, the moment they stepped into the bathroom, Fu Rongting promptly disregarded his earlier vow!

Zuo Jia found herself pressed against the wall by him, their bodies becoming one amidst the rising steam.

Completely depleted of strength, her body felt like liquid, utterly reliant on Fu Rongting for support.

"Fu Rongting, you lied!"

A chuckle escaped Fu Rongting's lips. "Ah, so you've finally realized. I'd be delighted to have you and turn you into a little dog!"
