Cheng Su visits Old Master Cheng with her son Qi Xiaoqi, where she discusses her new business idea with her father and brother Cheng Yaozong. She plans to open a dried seafood shop in a newly acquired location, aiming to serve common people rather than just high-end markets. Despite initial surprise, her father and brother agree to support her venture after she explains her thoughtful plan.

After spending half the day at the Cheng family residence discussing numerous business matters with Cheng Yaozong, Cheng Su opted to depart as dusk approached, bringing Qi Xiaoqi along.

"I have another engagement tomorrow, and we shall head back to Qing City the day after," Cheng Su informed them. "Once I've conferred with Qi Taiguo, a decision will be made regarding the potential opening of the Seafood Shop. Subsequently, I'll return."

Recognizing her academic commitments, Old Master Cheng did not press her to extend her visit. He merely requested she join them for a meal before departing, a proposal Cheng Su accepted.

Following her departure, Old Master Cheng turned his attention back to Cheng Yaozong. "Even a modest Seafood Shop requires considerable effort to operate successfully. Given your local connections, you should introduce her to a few individuals who can offer assistance and support."

Cheng Yaozong readily concurred.

"What are your thoughts on the land parcel she brought up?" Old Master Cheng inquired further.

Cheng Yaozong responded, "At present, the majority of our capital is invested in ongoing real estate ventures. Diverting funds to acquire another plot would place us under significant financial strain."

"Did you consider selling the southern parcel as she advised?" Old Master Cheng questioned.

Cheng Yaozong’s brow furrowed slightly. "Dad, are you suggesting..."

"Wasn't it your suggestion, prompted by her, to acquire that southern land initially? Observe how its value has practically doubled within a single year. Do you not perceive the significance of that?" Old Master Cheng narrowed his eyes slightly.

Cheng Yaozong's eyes lit up with understanding. "Indeed, that young lady possesses remarkable foresight, as if she possessed knowledge of its future appreciation..."

At this juncture, a shared sense of bewilderment settled between them, though they soon dismissed it, attributing it to Cheng Su's exceptional acumen.

"Therefore, do you believe we should divest ourselves of the southern landholding and acquire the larger parcel Little Cheng Su mentioned?" Cheng Yaozong sought clarification.

Old Master Cheng stifled a yawn. "Even without selling, its value will continue to increase. However, rapid capital turnover is best achieved through the ownership of several substantial land assets. I am advanced in years now; this decision should be deliberated amongst you brothers, and you should certainly seek your elder brother's opinion as well!"

Cheng Yaozong nodded, already leaning towards the idea of selling.

...

Cheng Su had expressed a desire to remain an additional day, not for any business-related matters, but solely for the purpose of visiting Little Cheng Su.

On this particular day, Qi Xiaoqi proved somewhat difficult, prompting Cheng Su to leave him at home rather than bring him along. Instead, she brought snacks and stationery to the orphanage.

Little Cheng Su, now two and a half years old, was standing by the entrance as Cheng Su arrived. With her young finger in her mouth, her large, curious eyes fixated on Cheng Su's arrival.

The sight brought a mixture of tenderness and a pang of sadness to Cheng Su's heart. Embracing the child, she placed the small cake she had brought into her hands.

"Are you here to adopt me?" Little Cheng Su inquired, her gaze fixed expectantly on Cheng Su without touching the cake.

Cheng Su's heart ached, and she remained silent.

How could she possibly answer? A simple 'no' would undoubtedly bring sadness to the child!

Little Cheng Su continued to gaze at her, her hopeful expression gradually dissolving into disappointment. Sensing Cheng Su's unwillingness or inability to provide an answer, she half-climbed, half-rolled off Cheng Su's lap and scurried away toward the door.

Cheng Su reached out instinctively, a choked cry catching in her throat as tears welled and began to fall.

"Children can be quite uninhibited; do not take her words to heart. This little one has always been rather sensitive, posing that very same question to everyone who visits!" The orphanage director placed a comforting hand on Cheng Su's shoulder. "I heard you have yourself become a mother; my congratulations."

Cheng Su managed a weak smile. "Thank you. He was a little unruly today; otherwise, I would have brought him for you to meet."

"There will be other opportunities," the director replied with a smile. "Oh, incidentally, someone else came inquiring about Little Cheng Su not long ago!"

This unexpected piece of information startled Cheng Su.
