Lin Xian's team reunited at the Infinity camp amid mounting Abnormal Body attacks and reconnaissance reports of damaged bunkers overrun by monsters active in daylight. With no viable shelters on Sea Rock Island and storms blocking escape, Lin Xian ordered a move to the fortified Sea Rock Prison on the Island. The train battled through hordes to White Beach Station, then levitated by telekinesis toward the coast as the Hawk Sea Group landed ashore. Chen Sixuan noted Director Ding's Blood Vine Disaster Plant appearing alive during the assault.

At 2:35 PM, dark clouds blanketed the entire sky above Sea Rock Island. A fierce storm howled, waves churned wildly around the island, and the air carried an eerie, fishy odor, as though they had left the realm of the living behind.

A massive black train hovered low in the sky, slicing through the howling winds before landing with a thunderous boom on the outer tracks of the old military base on the island, sending sparks scattering and dust billowing upward.

"That was too close."

Chen Sixuan glanced at the radar's erratic readings and spoke with residual dread, "Something down there in the ocean was definitely tracking us moments ago. Good thing... we shook off the mark just in time."

"Day and night restrictions are gone here. Those creatures can show up anytime," Lin Xian replied. "And they’re packed way too tight. One slip-up, and we’re facing more than just a basic Monster Tide chase."

The entrance to the deserted military bunker swung open. Infinity slowly advanced into the underwater base via the old supply route, its engine's growl stirring up ancient dust that reverberated through the enormous cave.

"Planning to stay the night on this island?"

From the rear, Monica stepped into the cockpit and eyed Lin Xian. "I’ve been around you for ages, but this is the first time I’ve seen you so hesitant."

Lin Xian shook his head. "We’ve stumbled into the territory of an Abnormal Body, plus a world-class lurker. Honestly, I’ve got no solid plan right now to extract everyone safely."

"You might just be overly wound up," Monica’s eyes drifted from Chen Sixuan to the windshield, observing the barren supply track leading into the mountain as she added, "Volcano blows or tsunami hits, it’s merely another unavoidable disaster. Ever since Apocalypse Day, we’ve danced on the brink of death. What makes this any different?"

Chen Sixuan arched a brow slightly at those words, then chimed in, "I’m with you. There’s always a path when the road ends. We’ve beaten countless impasses before. I’m sure we’ll make it through this night too."

Lin Xian gave a nod, paused briefly, and cracked a faint smile.

"Solid attitude there, perfect~"

With that, he summoned Viola. She hurried from the cars into the cockpit. Now, Lin Xian laid out the strategy.

"Viola, seize control of every drone and Hawk Sea Group’s gear to establish defenses at Sea Rock Prison. Meanwhile, pull all of Ryan’s team underground."

Chen Sixuan eyed him. "Robots handling everything?"

"Exactly," Lin Xian affirmed firmly. "It’s not about holding them off—it’s targeted elimination."

Lin Xian studied Viola closely while explaining, "With Abnormal Bodies swarming the island, using humans for defense is pointless. Getting marked turns you into bait, so Viola, your job is blocking stray monsters from the underground base. If it comes to it..."

Lin Xian’s eyes hardened. "Detonate the tunnels linking Sea Rock Prison and this base—seal us in below forever!"

Viola cocked her head a bit, then acknowledged, "I understand the orders. Implementing now."

She spun around and got to work without delay.

"Not bad." Monica noted at that point, "Could make for a quiet evening."

Rumble!

Right after she spoke, a massive quake struck, showering dust through the aged supply tunnel, lights stuttering, and a massive shockwave’s roar blasting inside Infinity!

"Earthquake?!"

"Probably Galan Volcano," Lin Xian’s brow furrowed deeply. The shaking persisted around thirty seconds, causing minimal harm, yet its length and force exceeded prior tremors. Ominous signs ahead.

"The undersea volcano’s nearing eruption, it seems," Chen Sixuan turned to Lin Xian. "You mentioned this spot sits on a volcanic crater too, right?"

"Correct."

Lin Xian confirmed with a nod. "A geothermal vent, but linked to the same ocean ridge chain as Galan Volcano."

As the tunnel dust settled to a halt, Lin Xian drew a steady breath and guided Infinity deeper along the path. Moments later, they reached the gated passage marked with nuclear warnings. The instant Lin Xian triggered it remotely via his mechanical ability, a surge of blistering heat erupted outward, instantly vaporizing the moisture around Infinity!

It’s boiling here too!

Lin Xian's face grew somewhat somber as he maneuvered the train into the passage, the bright light ahead slowly shifting to red. The tracks inched along the rim of that massive geothermal core's heat well. Gazing through the porthole, they spotted the enormous tunnel below, where the red magma's glow greatly amplified the light in the geothermal well. Even prior to stepping off, Lin Xian and the others already sensed an intense heat wave.

"Activity levels are rising. The drill and locator on this device will shut down or even get damaged if they surpass their limits. Consequently, the heat source points placed in the surrounding seas of Sea Rock Island will vanish," Lin Xian explained. "That's the real issue."

"So you're saying that without this thing, the monsters will swarm Galan Volcano, reviving a dormant volcano?" Monica questioned.

Lin Xian let out a sigh, "I don't truly care if the anomalies at Galan Volcano connect to the Abnormal Bodies' actions or if the Foundation's absurd experiments play a role."

By now, Infinity had arrived at the loading platform of the nuclear submarine base. Lin Xian brought the train to a halt, then pivoted and strode toward the rear of the carriage, addressing Monica as he went,

"But one thing's certain: with this device, we're the hunters. Without it, we're right atop irresistible bait. Even lacking the Dark Mark, we couldn't flee."
