Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train Chapter 1149 - 442: Island Leap_2

"By the way, can you control that kind of movement now?"
Rubbing his head sheepishly, Mo Xiaotian replied, "Not yet, I’m not even sure how it happens. But my master says it could very well be a characteristic of my superpower, somewhat similar to Brother Qian’s Divine Speed. He named it... Flying Thunder God."
"Flying Thunder God? Sounds... quite impressive."
"Be careful, there’s movement in the northwest direction." Resembling a sniping goddess, Chen Sixuan gripped the Night Hunter firmly. Her keen senses detected disturbances several blocks distant, swiftly dispatching monsters before they locked on targets—a major factor keeping the Infinity free from massive sieges.
Right after Chen Sixuan spoke, deafening sonic booms exploded above in the sky.
Glancing upward, who else but Lin Xian and his crew?
"Lin Xian, how’s the situation on Chasan Island? Everything progressing smoothly?" Chen Sixuan inquired worriedly.
"The mechanical gates on the energy leakage pipeline are now open." Frowning as he eyed the piles of Abnormal Body corpses nearby, Lin Xian questioned: "What’s the camp’s status? Did the other squads finish their scouting missions?"
"We faced three Abnormal Body assaults, yet we repelled them all."
Chen Sixuan answered, "The rest ought to be heading back soon. From their reports, things look grim. Survivors once claimed many bunkers and shelters, but the air force base and underground facilities have all succumbed to Abnormal Bodies. Nights here are nightmarish, explaining the absence of any living souls."
"Thus, the bunkers suffer heavy damage. To repurpose them as temporary havens, we’d need extensive repairs."
No sooner had Chen Sixuan wrapped up than sonic booms rang out overhead anew. Three squads flew in from various angles one after another. Ning Jing, Qian Deli, and Monica’s groups had wrapped up reconnaissance. The scorch marks and dents on their power armor showed this routine scout wasn’t a walk in the park.
"Crawling with activity across the city." Qian Deli chimed in first, "It’s reminiscent of Dawn City—monsters swarming every corner, including massive beasts."
"Have the monsters fully adjusted to daytime now?"
"Possibly tied to this raging storm, but yeah, they have." Monica let out a heavy sigh, her eyes shifting to Lin Xian: "We spotted the uproar southeast. That Gravitational Beam up there—you’re behind it, right?"
"Correct, that was me." Lin Xian confirmed with a nod: "Hit a snag—a Special-Level showed up."
"With conditions like these, do we keep holding out here?" Ning Jing queried, brow furrowed, "We kept clearing marks non-stop earlier. At such density, nightfall will tag us for sure."
"No other way around it." KIKI gestured at the brooding storm clouds above: "No clue how many atmospheric beasts lurk there. One slip-up lands a Level 4 Mark. Flying away from the island? Not feasible."
"So we’re just sitting tight?" Monica creased her brows.
"It’s not all doom and gloom."
Lin Xian pondered deeply, face creased, before stating, "The thicker the Monster Tide builds, the nearer the hunt draws."
"Oh my God."
Qian Deli burst into wry laughter upon hearing that, "So we gotta outrun that otherworldly Evil God beast to live?"
"That’s not all." Shu Qin stated gravely, "Only if Galan Volcano stays dormant."
"Alright then..."
Qian Deli heaved a sigh, plopping down atop the Infinity, "Captain, this mess is splitting my skull. Got no bright plans myself. Your call—we’ll execute it without question."
"No fitting shelters on Sea Rock Island means no point battling Abnormal Bodies to the bitter end on this forsaken rock." Lin Xian declared bluntly.
"You’re suggesting?" Chen Sixuan probed, "We push to the Island?"
"Exactly." Lin Xian affirmed with a nod, pressing on, "No alternative exists. The Island holds Sea Rock Prison—sparser Abnormal Bodies, fortified prison walls for defense. Come nightfall, fending off the Monster Tide would prove far simpler."
"A solid choice for sure. Prison walls stand strong, submarine base boasts top-tier defenses. Still..." Ning Jing eyed Lin Xian, "Passages teem with Abnormal Bodies, and an unsteady geothermal well spells danger too."
"True, yet no superior path awaits." Lin Xian commanded resolutely, "All hands, gear up to move out."
"Okay!"
Woo!
Without delay, the Infinity's full crew leaped into motion. Lin Xian operated the track barriers remotely from the cockpit as the engine bellowed fiercely. The train surged over the switch, charging rapidly toward the Island.
The metal wheels clanged rhythmically against the ruined tracks. This colossal train barreled through the foggy Sea Rock City, drawing a horde of low-level Abnormal Bodies that lunged in assault. Gunfire blazed from the Infinity.
At the same time, on the Island’s shore, the Hawk Sea Group’s fleet neared amid churning waves, with hundreds frantically hauling supplies and weapons to land. Transport planes thundered like in a frantic pre-disaster retreat, every face heavy with tension and dread.
Vanessa and the sea group’s elite fighters patrolled the surrounding waters vigilantly. A sea monster surfacing now would spell catastrophe. To dodge any issues, all were ordered to unload in complete silence.
Rumble!
Exiting the University Orbit Station’s rubble field, the 1130’s thunder rolled across massive structures, stirring up thick dust clouds. The Infinity poured out maximum firepower, while Qian Deli’s Divine Speed darted repeatedly along the shoreline.
"Eleven o’clock direction, stay vigilant!" His words barely ended when Shu Qin’s Pulse Cannon exploded in crimson blaze, and Sha Sha atop the train roof swung the Mecha Gun Turret around, her cries fusing with the ammo chains’ racket, "Quick, quick, a Level 1 Mark appeared again."
"Brother Huo!"
"The God is here!"
Boom!
A searing fire trail marked Lu Xingchen’s dash across the block, igniting the street in a flash that detonated instantly, engulfing a dozen Abnormal Bodies.
"Marker reset!"
"We are almost at White Beach Station!" Chen Sixuan’s voice echoed through the communicator.
Gazing out the window past buildings and beach, Lin Xian glimpsed the slate-gray coast battered by waves. He issued orders via communicator right away:
"KIKI, Ryuji, get ready!"
"All set!"
Hovering above the train roof, KIKI and Ryuji’s eyes gleamed with superpower glow. Aligned front to back, they unleashed their abilities together at Lin Xian’s cue, gripping the entire Infinity.
Shreeek!!
In a flash, invisible telekinesis hoisted the thousands-ton train off the rails, lifting it gradually into the sky, gliding over squat buildings straight to the coast.
"According to Viola’s detection, the nearest G16 node is over 500 kilometers away, and the subsequent tracks are uncertain. Are we going to have to rely on flying across the Pacific Ocean later?"
From the cockpit, Chen Sixuan watched the train sail over streets into the roiling sea zone and turned to Lin Xian.
"As long as we can evade this big guy first, crossing the Pacific Ocean afterward is a minor issue." Lin Xian eyed Chen Sixuan: "The track is no longer an obstacle for us."
"By the way," Chen Sixuan replied, "Director Ding’s Disaster Plant seems to have changed. It appeared when we were attacked. When we safely dock on the Island, you should find her."
Lin Xian’s brow creased at the news, "It appeared during the attack? Is it Silver Dragon Ten Thousand Mistakes?"
Chen Sixuan shook her head: "No, it’s the Blood Vine."
She fixed Lin Xian with her gaze: "Director Ding said that Disaster Plant seems to be alive!"
