Xia Bai's attack shattered the Red Female Guard formation, though the Demon Whale clone was also destroyed. The Demon Whale itself sustained severe injuries during the battle and retreated into the sea. In response, it later spewed countless sea beasts into the human camp, causing widespread chaos and forcing reserve units into battle. After two days of fighting, the battle ended inconclusively. Meanwhile, Superior Dragon learned of the Demon Whale's injuries and retreat to heal, preparing to act.

The human camp had been cleaning up the battlefield, but halfway through, they saw the sea surface become unusually active—a spectacular sight, yet one they could not quite describe.

If one had to put it into words, it was like water boiling over, except what churned up were not just bubbles, but all kinds of lights, leaking energies, and blood of various colors.

Before long, a great number of corpses began to float to the surface!

Were they... fighting in the sea?!

Xia Lei and the others came to the shore, frowning at the distant sea, puzzled.

"What's going on? It looks like a fight, but didn't the Demon Whale already unify this sea region?"

"Could it be that the Demon Whale's injuries have caused it to lose control of its subordinates? For these mutated lifeforms, the strong ruling by might has always been the truth."

"Or maybe sea beasts from other regions were drawn here by the scent of blood from the past two days' battle—just like the zombies and land lifeforms being attracted to our side?"

"Could it be that they're devouring the injured races to evolve faster?"

Everyone speculated, with different guesses.

"It's not the Demon Whale losing control."

Liu Zhenghong suddenly said. "Although Xia Bai and the Red Female Guard dealt it a heavy blow, its remaining combat power is still far stronger than ordinary level-nine lifeforms. It might have expended a lot of energy, but its position should not be challenged."

Her eyes were her ability, so naturally she observed more clearly than others, making her judgment of the Demon Whale's remaining strength more accurate.

"Yes, the Demon Whale should have left this sea area." Little Tiger's eyes were also special; though he could not directly use tracking skills, he had a vague sense.

"Let's go down and take a look." Xiao Peng suggested.

His unit had been in reserve and, though later drawn into battle passively, had not experienced intense fighting, staying around the command post as a precaution.

Because his unit's base was not at Cloud Peak but on the coast, they were the most skilled at sea combat among Cloud Peak's forces. Yet even they dared not enter the sea during such a beast tide, staying on land.

However, for reconnaissance purposes, Xiao Peng's unit was capable enough.

Xia Lei nodded. "Send the squads blessed by the Ocean King Crown. Don't get too close—have support ready both on the sea surface and on land."

Xiao Peng agreed and immediately returned to his battalion to organize. A few minutes later, fifty elite members were divided into five squads, entering the water from different positions. Several sea vessels also appeared on the surface, most blue-grade, with one gold-grade among them.

The long-range units advanced forward, ready to provide fire support.

Two hours later, the five squads returned, having lost six members, but the information they brought was largely consistent.

The sea beasts were slaughtering each other, belonging to two different camps.

"This new group of sea beasts should have come from the far eastern seas, with at least two top-tier lifeforms among them, though their total numbers are fewer than the local group."

Xiao Peng had personally gone into the sea, getting closer than any of the fifty, so his information was the most detailed and accurate.

"Although it looks fairly evenly matched right now..."

Xiao Peng thought for a moment. "How should I put it... I feel like something's off."

He organized his thoughts and continued. "Whether in terms of top-tier lifeforms or total numbers, this new group is significantly outmatched by the current sea beast force. The only reasons it seems even are, first, because the local group's leader is absent and they've just been through a major battle, leaving them in poor condition, and second, because these new sea beasts seem utterly fearless, disregarding casualties entirely."

After saying this, Xiao Peng added, "Normally, mutated lifeforms that have evolved to a certain degree shouldn't act this way—they have reason too. But this is practically suicidal behavior, so I can't tell what's really going on."

"How far is the main battlefield from us?"

"Roughly north of our line, extending from about two kilometers offshore to about five kilometers—that's just my estimate. Most of the fighting is in the shallows, with some in deeper waters."

Xia Lei asked, and Xiao Peng answered. After receiving the answer, Cloud Peak Villa immediately ordered long-range attacks to cover the sea beasts nearest the coastline.

At this point, Cloud Peak did not care what the new sea beasts' intentions were. Xia Lei and the high-level members all agreed that the priority was to reduce the Demon Whale's sea beast forces as much as possible.

So the long-range units advanced and began attacking the approximate range Xiao Peng had indicated.

Distance, seawater, and firing angles greatly reduced the weapons' power, but they still had an effect. This would certainly help the new sea beast group hold out longer. Cloud Peak only spent money, while the enemy paid with lives—a worthwhile trade.

This situation lasted over ten hours, until the new sea beast group collapsed after one of its top-tier lifeforms fell.

The sea battle turned into a pursuit, and then into a disorderly assault on land.

Many sea beasts, angered by Cloud Peak's long-range attacks, or unable to endure the seemingly endless harassment, turned back ashore to attack the human lines.

There were still a considerable number of these sea beasts. Though it was not the massive all-out war of before, the long human front was dotted with skirmishes and localized battles.

Fighting continued both at sea and on land. This reached its peak when the new sea beast group, having regrouped just six hours later, launched another assault—so much so that at one point, Xiao Peng's battalion even engaged in near-shore combat. Apart from the gene-soldier legion, which had remained stationary, every asset of Cloud Peak, the Resistance Zone, and the Glory Army had been committed.

The fighting began at dusk that day and continued without end until dawn on the third day. Both sides had suffered heavy losses, but they gritted their teeth and persisted.

Everyone knew that whichever side broke first would truly be broken.

Cloud Peak's gene-soldier legion entered the battlefield at that very dawn, lifting the morale of the entire human camp.

This boost was tangible.

First, the gene legion was large enough in number. Upon entering the battlefield, they pushed the sea beasts back into the sea within just a few hours—a bloody process, but it was the first time in the land-sea conflict that all sea beasts had been forced back into the water.

Second, among the gene lifeforms, over two hundred thousand were specifically adapted for underwater combat—nearly thirty percent of the total—capable of fighting at over seventy percent effectiveness in the sea.

So when the sea beasts were driven back into the sea, they gained neither rest nor respite, as the gene lifeform legion invaded their lair.

Because the humans had tied down so many of the Demon Whale's sea beasts, the other group had managed to hold on. Though their numbers had dwindled to less than twenty percent of their original strength, they were still fighting.

The human camp now saw the dawn of total victory.

Given a little more time—not much, perhaps a day or two—they would be able to completely rout this sea beast force.

By then, even if the Demon Whale returned, it would be useless. If it came alone, Cloud Peak had a hundred ways to kill it.

Unfortunately, on that very night, the dark sky revealed the fully recovered figure of the Demon Whale.
