Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies Chapter 1630: Oppression
Previously on Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies...
At Neon Harbor, the Colombia naval fleet.
Much like the Huaxu Nation's Mist Valley forces, the troops that attacked this location withdrew after a fierce battle.
They left not a single corpse behind, retreating in an orderly and composed manner, yet they inflicted absolutely devastating losses on the Colombia naval fleet!
Nearly every warship along the harbor had been completely destroyed!
For a naval fleet, this was undoubtedly fatal in the extreme!
In other words, the most powerful naval fleet in all of Colombia was now utterly finished.
And after the apocalypse, attempting to build another fleet of such massive scale was nearly impossible to achieve.
Cadillus was covered in wounds. During his battle against the crimson sea beast, he had even lost an arm to its bite.
But relying on the vast arsenal of weapons at the Colombia naval base, he had managed to hold out until the moment the Mist Valley forces retreated.
As the Mist Valley army withdrew into the ocean, Cadillus clutched his injured stump, his eyes locked onto the direction of their departure, filled with seething resentment and fury."Damn them, how dare they invade my territory!"
The entire naval base was virtually ruined. Massive amounts of seawater had flooded the facility, and nearly half of the soldiers had perished.
With every wave that rolled in, tens of thousands of Colombia navy corpses bobbed up and down in the water.
Perhaps because of the sheer volume of blood, even the seawater near the shore refused to freeze.
Canero flew over from the distance. His condition was hardly any better, his battle armor was battered and full of holes.
Seeing Cadillus's severed arm, he couldn't help but ask, "Your arm..."
Cadillus gritted his teeth and put on a tough front. "I gambled it on the new era!"
Canero knew Cadillus far too well. He didn't call him out on it, merely saying calmly, "Go get a limb regeneration surgery right away!"
By the mid-21st century, the emergence of medical-type Transcendents had made limb regrowth far less difficult.
Cadillus's face darkened. "Those bastards... are they the monsters that emerged from that accursed island?"
Canero took a deep breath. "Their strength far exceeds our expectations!"
Cadillus looked at him. "They're nothing special! Remember, we're merely one fleet of the Colombia navy."
Canero said, "But while they were attacking us, they also dispatched a massive army to assault the Huaxu Nation's homeland! In other words, what we faced was only a small detachment."
"What?!"
Cadillus was dumbfounded. A mere detachment had nearly annihilated their entire naval fleet!
No, if the enemy hadn't retreated early for some special reason, there might not have been a single survivor at this harbor today.
"Those bastards..."
Cadillus's expression turned extremely grave.
If that was the case, then when they launched another attack of this scale next time, the Ocean Fleet, with its current strength, wouldn't stand a chance of stopping an invasion of equal magnitude!
Canero said, "Let's head back and receive treatment first!"
He raised his head and looked into the distance, his gaze piercing across the vast ocean.
"General Douglas has already sent an urgent request for reinforcements to Naval Headquarters! Before long, reinforcements will arrive."
Hearing this, Cadillus's gaze also drifted toward the western sea.
"Headquarters, huh? It's been a long time since I've been back. Hopefully they'll send plenty of reinforcements!"
"Oh, if Professor Da Vinci could personally come over, that would be even better!"
Canero said, "Professor Da Vinci isn't a combat-type Transcendent. He shouldn't leave the capital, Franklin. So my guess is that one of the others will come."
Cadillus spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva. By now, the medical units had already rushed over.
He had someone inject him with a hemostatic agent, then said to Canero, "Whoever comes, this time we're facing trouble unlike anything before! Even for the Colombia United States, the world's number one power, without the resolve to stake everything on a single gamble, winning this war will be no easy feat!"
To this, Canero expressed no disagreement whatsoever.
Because according to the intelligence they had gathered so far.
The Huaxu Nation, due to the Mist Valley forces' invasion, had likewise suffered a fairly enormous blow.
...
Huaxu Nation.
Tianshui City.
Zhang Yi had just led his team to victory in a battle, and the entire city of Tianshui was now filled with a jubilant, celebratory atmosphere.
Especially upon learning that the other regions had fared poorly in battle, it only fostered a sense of pride among the people.
The Transcendents of the Shadow Troop had witnessed with their own eyes how Zhang Yi had valiantly slain a Silver Armor general in this battle, and had even instantly killed a Black-White Commander!
At this moment, a resolute conviction welled up in their hearts.
Zhang Yi is a god!
Ma Wenzheng's indoctrination also required facts as supporting evidence, and nothing could ignite their worship of Zhang Yi more effectively than a bloody, adrenaline-pumping battle.
But compared to their excitement, Zhang Yi was not swept away by the temporary victory.
"The Black Armor hasn't appeared yet!"
"That Gatekeeper of the Underworld is the real threat."
Zhang Yi had formed some suspicions in his mind.
Ever since returning from Neon, he had confirmed one thing.
Those powerful beings from the Underground Civilization didn't dare to easily appear on the surface.
Otherwise, they would be punished by some kind of force.
For example, that thunderbolt that had pierced the entire sky and struck down Kami-musubi-no-Kami!
Even this time, when the Mist Valley forces launched a massive invasion of the surface world, the entire offensive lasted less than two hours before they chose to withdraw.
So the reason the Gatekeeper of the Underworld hadn't shown himself was probably due to this restriction.
But since the Mist Valley forces dared to appear, it meant this limitation was gradually being lifted.
Perhaps before long, that being clad in black armor, the one who had once brought Zhang Yi the threat of death, would personally set foot upon this world!
And when that day came, with Zhang Yi's current strength, could he even withstand a single blow from him?
In Zhang Yi's mind, he recalled the first time the two of them had met.
The Black Armor had toyed with him, Xuanwu, and Cadillus like a grown-up playing games with children.
Perhaps back then, if the Black Armor had truly wanted to kill them, not a single one of the three would have survived.
"My strength alone cannot withstand an attack from a being of that caliber. The Black Armor's ability index has to be at least 40,000 points or higher. Even now, I can clearly recognize that I'm no match for him."
Zhang Yi took a deep breath. "It's time to leverage the strength of others!"
As it happened, this time, every major region of the Huaxu Nation had come under attack.
He decided to unite all the forces that could be united, to jointly discuss countermeasures against the Mist Valley invasion.
