A Hospital in Another World? Chapter 946: Son of Thunder, I've Come as a Hostage, What Do You Plan to Do with Me?
Previously on A Hospital in Another World?...
The female snakes were engaged in a heated debate. Nierka stood alone against them, feeling anxious despite some support, and quickly glanced at her teacher for help:
"Can you say something for me?"
Chivacoatl sat in the middle, looking down at the young female snakes below, her gaze serene and unaffected. Nierka's actions had left her somewhat disappointed:
"Young girls are naturally curious, that's nothing unusual. While it’s odd to favor a lean, black-robed mage over a strong warrior, his aura, walking the line between life and death, can be captivating;
"However, mixing personal feelings with official matters is another issue. You claim holding that necromancer is for the benefit of the Eagle God’s Kingdom, but when it comes time to make sacrifices for the country, what will you do?
"Will you hand him over, become a hostage yourself, or push someone else to be the hostage?
"Nierka, don't let me down…
"If you make another wrong choice, I’ll have to find a new successor. After all, while talent and power in a female snake are important, character and judgment are even more crucial. Great talent but poor character can lead to disaster…"
In the midst of the argument, Nierka suddenly stood up. The young female snake held her head high, her face tense, eyes filled with anger:
"Fine! I’ll be the hostage! I’ll go!—Regardless, I won't agree to hand over that necromancer until we have the divine medicine!""Please." The female snake opposite her didn't even lift her eyelids, coldly spreading her hands.
Barely satisfactory, thought Chivacoatl. Although not the best solution, it would allow for further observation.
She nodded, and the matter was decided. Nierka, seething with anger, stormed down to the pyramid's lower level, bursting into Lynn's cell. With a wave of her hand, "click," "click," the shackles unlocked and chains fell:
"Come with me!"
"What’s going on?"
Lynn looked up warily. As the anti-magic chains were removed, the long-lost magic surged back, making every cell in his body rejoice—but he dared not act recklessly. Not only was this the heart of the Eagle God’s Kingdom, but he couldn’t defeat this female snake either…
"Moving you to a better place!" Nierka said, still fuming, "To a better place! Then you will write a letter to the Plague Lord, telling him you are safe!"
Lynn stood still, full of suspicion. Move me? Write a letter? Once I write it, will you lock me up again, or kill me?
And what about the letter? What’s your plan for Garrett?
Seeing his distrust, Nierka's face darkened. She impatiently grabbed him:
"Move, move, move! What are you standing there for! The Plague Lord is very powerful, I even have to be a hostage! Come on, taking you to a guest room, hurry up and write the letter! We need the divine medicine!"
She dragged Lynn to an upper-level guest room, not spacious but bright enough. He refused the leather, clay tablet, and wooden stylus handed to him, instead pulling out paper and pen from his space bag and began writing:
"Garrett, I was surprised to hear you came all this way to rescue me..."
His writing was swift and fluid, much faster than using a stylus on clay. After describing his situation, he wrote about the Eagle God’s Kingdom’s strength:
"Do not rush in... I lost the ability to resist almost instantly, the Golden Eagle Warriors and female snakes are at least level 13 to 14, the strongest might be level 15…
"I saw their Eagle God at the ceremony, its wings cast a shadow over the entire basin… from its aura, it’s close to legendary if not already there. Do not force entry without the Thunder Lord himself…
"I am fine, not injured, just confined before. That female snake, Nierka, has been threatening to sacrifice me if I don’t cooperate… since your message arrived, my treatment has improved, and I was moved to a guest room…”
He finished the lengthy letter and blocked Nierka’s hand as she tried to snatch it:
"I need to add a secret mark! Mages recognize each other this way! Without it, Garrett won't believe I'm safe!"
He cautiously cast the spell, unopposed. The letter was taken, and Nierka left, only to return suddenly, slamming the door open:
"Don't wander! Don't do anything strange! If you break any rules while I’m gone, no one will save you!"
She stormed out. Lynn quietly listened until her hurried footsteps completely faded, then collapsed into a chair:
Thank heavens he wasn’t locked back in a cell or chained again… it seems my treatment really has improved… The Eagle God’s Kingdom must be in trouble, or they wouldn’t be so desperate for Garrett…
Even so, Garrett, be cautious! This female snake’s abilities are dark and insidious, and I can only handle a mid-level priestess. A high-level female snake like her could easily overpower me…
Nierka, whom Lynn described as "dark and insidious," soon arrived at the Red Hawk Tribe’s camp, escorted by two Golden Eagle Warriors. After the handover, she threw the letter to Garrett and scrutinized him:
"So, you wanted me as a hostage? I’m here, what do you plan to do with me?"
"That depends on Lynn’s condition." Garrett hadn’t opened the letter yet, busy inspecting it:
Checking for poison, sealing spells, secret marks, examining the paper for spells like "secret page."
A series of small spells flickered from his fingers, keeping him busy. Without looking up, he said:
"If he’s well, you’ll stay here quietly, no harm will come to you; if he’s been tortured, you won’t fare well either."
"Do you think you can make me suffer?!"
Nierka sneered. Behind her, the Golden Eagle Warriors softly advised:
"Lady Nierka, the sage instructed us to seek peace… avoid conflict if possible…"
"Of course, I won’t start a conflict." Nierka smiled lightly:
"But this son of Thunder, for the sake of the god behind you, I won’t harm you, but don’t think you can do anything to me…" Her long hair, like a waterfall, hung down to her calves, now rising and hissing around her ears:
"Otherwise…"
"Otherwise what?"
"Otherwise, you’ll see the power of a female snake!"
Her hair suddenly expanded, becoming a black cloud that filled the hall. In the dark cloud, phosphorescent eyes and poisonous fangs appeared, swiftly surrounding Garrett, within three feet!
