Garrett and his companions lure an enemy into a trap in a seaside cave. They use silver ingots to bait the enemy towards Cirilla, who leads him into the water. Adrian Lopez pursues Cirilla, but she uses her ice breath and defensive spells to evade his attacks.

The sound of water echoed softly.

The cavern was pitch-black, with no light reaching within.

Adrian Lopez held his longsword with focused attention as he moved along the narrow waterway. The path was winding and tight, and despite the brilliant light emanating from his sword, it wasn’t enough to fully illuminate the area. A moment's carelessness could have him crashing into the rocky walls—

It wasn’t that he feared injury; rather, the winding waterway, filled with numerous crevices, could easily cause him to lose his target. If that happened, all his efforts would be wasted!

"Stop right there!"

"Stop!"

Adrian roared in his heart. However, the underwater world was eerily silent, and he couldn’t transmit sound through the water. He could only glare furiously at the figure ahead:

The girl in front of him moved with the agility of a fish, her body supple and nimble in the water, while Adrian could only rely on divine spells and the protection of his longsword, charging forward clumsily. Any change in direction or sharp turn was far more cumbersome for him compared to her. If he were to crash into a rock—

"Let’s see where you lead me!"

"Let’s see what you and your companions plan to do with me! No matter how many tricks you have, they can’t compare to the absolute power I wield!"

Diving down, then surfacing, and then diving again, the waterway twisted and turned. Suddenly, the girl in front of him turned around and gazed at him.

Her long silver hair fanned out in the water, creating a translucent, dreamlike glow in the dark depths of the sea. Despite Adrian Lopez’s burning anger and killing intent, his heart softened for a moment, and a thought arose:

…What if she surrenders? Maybe I don’t need to kill her?

Taking her prisoner wouldn’t be so bad either, would it?

Just as this thought crossed his mind, the girl ahead smiled and suddenly dove downwards. With a swift movement, she gripped the stone wall and slipped through a narrow gap, disappearing from sight. Adrian hurried to follow, but when he looked down, he was speechless:

The gap was just wide enough for the slender girl to pass through, but with his build, not to mention wearing armor, even without it, he couldn’t fit through…

The cave wasn’t deep, only about the length of three to five people, twisting and turning. On the other side, the girl smiled mischievously at him, her bright face gradually fading into the darkness, leaving only a few shimmering traces of silver light.

It was clear that the space beyond was vast, but he simply couldn’t get through…

If he wanted to pursue her, he’d either have to break through the rock, or find another path!

Adrian raised his fist and struck the stone wall forcefully, frowning. The wall was made of some incredibly hard material, so even he couldn’t break through it without using divine spells.

He kicked the wall with all his might, retreating swiftly. Suspended in the water, he murmured a chant, and the light on his longsword intensified, illuminating the waterway.

He looked left, right, up, down—the stone wall before him had no other openings, just the small gap. There was no second path wide enough for a person to pass through…

Retreat?

There were other caves along the way, but where they led, whether they reached the end, or if they were dead ends that grew narrower, was all unknown!

Adrian pondered for a moment, gripping his sword hilt with both hands. He knelt in the water, lowering his head and closing his eyes, beginning to pray silently:

"My Lord, you are the Holy One in the heavens, the Master of all things… Your devout servant asks for your guidance, let your heavenly radiance descend upon this world…"

After finishing his prayer, he thrust his sword forward. The blade glowed with a brilliant white light as it pierced the stone wall, as easily as if it were rotten wood. With a simple twist of his wrist, a large section of the wall crumbled, and the debris was swept away by the current, settling at his feet.

With just one strike, he expanded the narrow cave to a hole wide enough for a person to pass through. Adrian swam into the hole and thrust his sword again, widening the passage further. As he raised his sword for a third strike, he suddenly felt a chill—

He instinctively turned around. The entrance behind him, the way he had come, had vanished at some point. The stone wall now stood silently before him, as if the cave had never existed!

The enemy had made their move!

Instead of being frightened, Adrian was pleased. He reversed his sword and stabbed backward, twisting it. The blade glowed with golden light as it shredded the stone wall, the ceiling, and the floor of the cave into countless fragments. Large as fists, small as grains of sand, the debris scattered into the water—

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

The sword light triggered explosions of various kinds on all sides. Below, a jet of flame shot upward, straight towards Adrian. Even before it touched him, the surrounding water began to boil, and he could feel the heat through his armor;

To the left, several soft tendrils silently snaked out, wrapping around Adrian’s armor. The Sky Knight swung his sword swiftly, catching a glimpse of the tendrils—they were black tentacles, half-real, half-illusory, unable to exert force;

To the right, there was an empty space, as if no attack had occurred. Yet, Adrian felt a tightness in his chest, a nausea that made him want to vomit—What was it?! What kind of attack had struck him before he even noticed it?!

Behind… Above…

All were magical attacks, conventional spells cast by those heretical mages. It was clear the spellcaster had made their move!

Caught off guard, the runes on Adrian’s armor and the large gem embedded in it flashed erratically, but they managed to fend off the first wave of attacks, leaving him unharmed. He smirked coldly, raising his sword and shouting:

"Hold fast!"

A ball of golden light shot out, arcing over his head and descending upon him. It split into two, then four, then eight… In an instant, it formed a radiant barrier, encasing him completely.

The flames, tentacles, sound waves, acid, all kinds of attacks bombarded the barrier, but they were ultimately ineffective, unable to cause even a scratch.

"Hmph, these attacks are mere child’s play in the face of absolute power." Adrian raised his voice coldly. His words echoed off the stone walls and returned to him. Other than that, the underwater world was silent, eerily quiet.

It was as if the attackers had never existed, only triggering some magical traps. Yet the previous wave of attacks had drained the surrounding water, revealing a barren void, a testament to the immense power behind them.

Adrian listened carefully, silent and contemplative. Though his words were bold, inwardly, he was alarmed:

Each of these magical attacks had at least the power of a six-ring spell. If not for his armor’s automatic defenses, if not for his strong defensive spells, even he wouldn’t have emerged unscathed!

How many more tricks did his hidden enemy have?!

The surrounding magical traps gradually depleted, and the golden barrier began to dim. Just as the light was about to fade and a new divine spell was about to be cast, Adrian suddenly shivered:

Cold!

So cold!

A bone-chilling cold!

From the end of the cave, from the direction where the girl had disappeared, an intense chill swept in! Before it even reached him, he felt as if his bones were cracking, and snow-white frost climbed along the stone walls, the rock creaking as it split apart.

In almost no time, the cold had pushed from behind to the front. Adrian Lopez gripped his longsword, fully activating his divine spell, barely holding back the cold. Just as he steadied himself, another wave of icy breath rushed in:

"Cirilla, well done!"

From afar, Garrett lay in the cave, watching Cirilla reveal her true form in the vast underwater cavern, fiercely spewing dragon breath. He clenched his right fist and pumped it in the air:

"Freeze him!"

The silver dragon took a deep breath, her chest and abdomen swelling. Reaching her limit, she grabbed a glass vial with her claw, tossing it into her mouth:

"Roar—"

Another blast of white, frigid dragon breath shot out. Over the years spent with Garrett, Cirilla had trained hard, and the breath she released now was no longer a natural cone but perfectly directed into the narrow hole:

Inhaling several vials of liquid nitrogen, she unleashed an extreme cold dragon breath, spraying it over and over. After five or six breaths, she spread her wings and flew up, clutching the stone wall above:

Come out!

Come out so I can give you a big hit!

Adrian Lopez was freezing—literally, in the physical sense. The dragon breath of an adult silver dragon, enhanced to the extreme and continuously released in such a confined space, was something even he struggled to resist, despite using divine spells:

Wave after wave, the cold surged like a tide. After barely withstanding it, Adrian Lopez sighed in relief, hurriedly swinging his longsword to break the surrounding ice and carve a path for himself:

This wretched terrain is unbearable!

If he remained trapped here and was hit with a few more blasts, even his divine spells and armor would reach their limits!

The golden light danced on his sword. The frost from Cirilla’s breath, even as it merely grazed the stone

wall, formed an exceptionally hard layer of ice.

Adrian Lopez attacked with all his might, slashing three times to carve out a tunnel just long enough for a person to pass through. Seeing that there was still a person’s height of distance remaining, the water suddenly rushed back, filling the void with a loud splashing sound—

Within the water, a bright electric arc shot out, striking the Sky Knight’s armor. Without pause, another arc followed.

The masters of the underwater cavern, two electric eels, had returned. Seeing someone attacking their nest, they flew into a rage, launching an assault on Adrian without hesitation!

"Damn it!"

Adrian cursed in frustration. The timing was too perfect! Just when he was trapped in the tunnel, unable to advance or retreat, the two electric eels teamed up to attack!

He frantically activated his divine spell, enduring the intense electric shocks as he tore through the rock wall and charged into the large cavern beyond. As he emerged, just as he rejoiced at the newfound space to maneuver, a sharp gust of wind rushed at him, an arrow aiming straight for his face.

Adrian:!

The elf, that servant of nature, was waiting for him here?

The opportunity was well-timed… but unfortunately…

With his sword in his right hand and his left hand glowing faintly within his iron glove, he caught the arrow with a powerful grip. Just as he was about to throw it back, a tremor ran through his palm. The arrow began to sprout, roots growing wildly, burrowing into the seams of his glove.

At the same moment, a heavy gust of wind fell from above—a massive object was plummeting down towards him!
