Garrett devises a plan to lure the powerful Sky Knight into a trap by having the forest itself fight back. He communicates with the ancient trees, who, enraged by the enemy's destruction, agree to join the fight. However, their initial attempts to draw the Sky Knight's attention result in the destruction of some of the forest's defenders.

Garrett exited his meditation, sighing tiredly.

Beside him, Aishe Moon Song immediately handed over a bottle. It was cool to the touch with a slightly sour taste. Garrett downed it in one gulp, instantly feeling more refreshed. He then took out a piece of emerald-green tree heart and pressed it against his forehead.

"Garrett, are you okay? Do you need help?"

Cirilla immediately leaned over the tree trunk to look at him. Garrett closed his eyes for a moment. Only when the tree heart's color had faded to a barely visible pale green did he shake his head.

"I'm fine. That enemy is exhausted; his movement is getting slower... Let's move immediately! Head towards the cave by the sea!"

Adrian Lopez slowly sat down, laying his longsword across his knees and closing his eyes. The moment he sat, a deep fatigue swept over his entire body.

A whole day of high-intensity sprints had left him utterly exhausted, even though he was an 18th-level Sky Knight. However, the day hadn't been without its rewards—

"Hiding like a coward!" he sneered softly. From east to west, from south to north, strange disturbances kept luring him farther away. Such tactics only pointed to one conclusion:

The enemy was lurking nearby, watching, and had no intention of leaving. Not only that, but they were waiting for the right moment to weaken and attack him. This also meant that the opponent would eventually show themselves, giving him the chance to kill them and reclaim the treasure.

Moreover, the enemy had to be weaker than him! If they were stronger, or even his equal, why resort to such cowardly tactics?

Those elves, who prided themselves on being protectors of nature, would never sacrifice sentient ancient trees one by one unless they had no other choice.

"Hmph, you want to tire me out? I'll run back and forth a few times just to show you. The strength of a Sky Knight is beyond your comprehension. Don’t think that a few sprints will exhaust me!"

As the sun set, the sky gradually turned red. On the now darkening eastern coast, a sudden burst of green light flashed. Shadows of trees swayed as a fierce wind howled. Adrian Lopez's eyes narrowed as he leaped into the air, sword in hand.

"Here he comes!"

"He’s coming!"

Aishe Moon Song and Sisoyin simultaneously turned their heads. Garrett’s expression darkened, and he urged loudly:

"Stop looking! Move quickly!"

He turned and jumped down into the cave by the beach. Behind him, Bernard, Appa, and the Hawthorn couple followed one after another.

Dusk had fallen, and with the tide at its lowest, a natural path led deep into the cave. Garrett rode on Appa’s back, using the light from the Silver Moon Deer antlers to see clearly:

"Hurry, before he arrives, let's quickly get inside and set up an ambush. The terrain here is to our advantage!"

Aishe Moon Song and Sisoyin glanced apologetically at the forest before turning and following him into the cave. Only Cirilla hesitated, standing on the beach, reluctant to move.

"Do we really need to scatter that much silver? Garrett, do we really have to use so much?"

The young Silver Dragon girl frowned, her face filled with reluctance as she looked at the glittering reflections on the sand, almost on the verge of tears. A small canoe was moored beside the reef, loaded with wooden crates.

The crates were so heavy that the canoe swayed under the weight, the waterline unnaturally low. Cirilla casually flipped open the lid of the top crate, revealing it was filled to the brim with silver ingots.

"Do we really have to take all these crates? Garrett, what if these silver ingots fall into the sea and we can't retrieve them?"

"If we lose them, I’ll help you find them." Garrett coaxed her gently:

"Come on, that enemy is strong, so we need to weaken him as much as possible. Cirilla, didn’t you say you often catch big fish in the sea? Lure him into the water for a few laps; I don't believe a human can be stronger than you in the sea!"

"Of course!" The Silver Dragon girl lifted her chin proudly and pounded her chest a few times with a thud:

"Don’t worry! I’ll lead him around in circles until he’s completely exhausted, then drag him into the cave!"

With that, the group split up.

Garrett and the others waded into the cave, setting up their ambush.

Cirilla, meanwhile, waited until the sound of a sword cutting through the air grew closer and closer, even catching a glimpse of the approaching figure. She then glanced back smugly and pushed off the canoe:

"Hmph, you big bad guy! Cutting down trees for no reason! You made Garrett this tired, you jerk! Come and get me!"

Adrian Lopez was ready to leave. He had dashed from one end of the coast to the other, cutting down two or three ancient trees along the way, but still hadn't seen any sign of the enemy.

The sky was darkening. As a knight of the Radiant Lord, fighting in the dark wasn't impossible, but it wasn't as advantageous as under the sun. Maybe it was better to find a place to rest for the night and return tomorrow?

As he pondered this, a glimmer of silver suddenly flashed in his vision. Adrian snapped his head around, spotting something scattered across the beach—was that silver ingots?

Silver coins?

Could the enemy be transporting that treasure to the coast to ship it out by sea?

Judging by the distance and timing, it seemed just right...

He focused his gaze toward the beach. In the distance, he saw a small boat with its sail unfurled, swaying as it moved across the water. The boat was loaded with crates, weighing it down to the waterline, and the crates looked somewhat familiar...

Was it that treasure?

Or was this a trap meant for him?

The boatman had his back turned to him, adjusting the sail and then taking up the oars to row. The clumsy movements indicated he wasn't used to this kind of work. After rowing a short distance, the boatman wiped his brow and opened one of the crates beside him—

When the lid opened, a silvery sheen like snow filled the crate, a solid layer of silver ingots.

Whether it was a trap or not, I’ll grab that boatload of silver first! Adrian Lopez made up his mind in an instant. Pressing down on his sword, he dove down from the sky. The boatman glanced back in panic, hastily rowing with all his might.

This time the strokes were faster, more powerful, no longer the slow, lazy pace from before. With each stroke, the boat surged forward, then surged again with the next stroke—

It seemed this boatman was indeed a professional, and not a weak one at that. Adrian nodded in the air, secretly evaluating. If this boatman was this skilled, then he had found the right person!

But you won't escape! Sailing on the sea is far slower than the speed of a Sky Knight flying through the air! After only a few strokes, Adrian had already reached the beach, diving straight down.

"Stop the boat! Surrender!"

"Ah—"

The reply was a shriek. The boatman, seemingly trying to turn the boat to evade, crossed the oars, rowing forcefully on the right side. However, instead of successfully turning, the boat tilted to the side and capsized completely.

Adrian frowned, diving into the water with his sword aura protecting him. To his surprise, the crates didn’t scatter but seemed to be tied together, sinking heavily into the sea.

The boatman, instead of fleeing at full speed, swam ahead like a nimble fish, pulling the crates deeper into the water. When he glanced back at Adrian, he flashed a mischievous smile—it was a young girl.

So this is where you've been waiting for me?!

Relying on your swimming skills to lure me into the water for a fight?

Adrian Lopez was so furious that he laughed. He gripped his sword tightly, muttering a low prayer, and his entire body was instantly coated in a layer of golden light. He sliced through the water, heading straight for her:

Stay here!

You, and all those crates, stay with me!

Although his speed had slowed significantly underwater, it didn’t stop him from gradually closing the distance between them. A hundred meters, fifty meters, twenty meters...

Suddenly, the girl glanced back and smiled, reaching out to touch something. The sound of rushing water echoed, and all the crates disappeared. Between them, a rapidly spinning vortex appeared. The girl withdrew her hand and dived headfirst into the deep sea.

Space equipment?

Good, I’ll score some space equipment too this time!

Adrian Lopez wasn't disheartened but rather delighted, diving in after her. The deeper he went, the darker it became. The light from his sword and armor only illuminated about ten meters around him; he couldn't see any seabed, rock walls, or reefs.

Fortunately, he hadn’t lost track of his target. After stowing the crates, the girl’s speed had increased dramatically. She swam effortlessly through the cold, dark waters, even beginning to widen the distance between them—

"You won’t escape!" Adrian Lopez gritted his teeth. By now, they had descended to an unknown depth. Even as a Sky Knight, he could feel the pressure of the water. He had to end this quickly; he couldn't afford to drag it out too long!

He gripped his longsword tightly, muttering a low prayer. The sword's white light grew brighter as Adrian swung it

with all his might. A bright sword beam shot out, cutting through the water straight towards the girl. The beam was so powerful it even displaced a section of the seawater as it hurtled towards her.

Danger!

Cirilla’s scales instinctively bristled. If they were on the snowy mountains, if they were on the Silver Dragon’s home turf, she might have used her scales to block it. But now, she took a deep breath and blew out a chilling breath:

Ice Breath!

Though weakened in her human form, the Ice Breath still froze the surrounding seawater instantly. Cirilla kicked off the ice, darting forward and quickly casting several defensive spells on herself:

Force Field Shield, Advanced Mage Armor, Ice Armor...

Then she changed direction with all her might. Behind her, the sound of cracking ice echoed as the sword energy shattered the frozen water.
