Adrian Lopez, an 18th-level Sky Knight, searched for the elf who robbed the caravan. The jungle was eerily silent as he used his divine powers to scan the area, finding only stationary plant life. Meanwhile, Garrett and his companions hid, realizing their enemy was significantly stronger than them. The knight eventually revealed himself, threatening to destroy the forest and its inhabitants if the elf didn't surrender, killing a giant bird that attempted to intervene. Garrett urged his group to retreat and plan their next move, believing nature would be their ally.

"Our position is about 50 miles from the eastern coast... There's a small port at the end of the Golden Relay Road, with a garrison stationed there... About 10 miles to the south or north of the port, it's mostly dense forest..."

"The most powerful magical plant around here is a man-eating vine... I don't dare get close to it, but fortunately, as long as I don't approach it, it doesn't show any hostility towards me..."

"The most useful plant would likely be a poison dart tree... It can shoot out poisonous darts by itself, and any wild animal passing by might accidentally get hit..."

"The bloodvine entwined on the poison dart tree bears fragrant fruits that lure the wild animals closer, and it even drags the animals back..."

"There's a cave along the coast, very deep, and the entrance gets flooded during high tide... Two electric eels live there, one male and one female, and recently, they're taking care of their young..."

Sisoyin crouched on the ground, continuously marking the ground as he spoke. A dense crowd of people surrounded him, leaning in to listen to his words.

Garrett crouched in the center, transmitting all the data into his meditation core, marking each point on the virtual map:

"So, what should we do next? Where should we strike? With whom should we ally?"

Sisoyin looked at Garrett with eager eyes.

Although he was a half-elf cub and appeared human, Garrett could sense the battle from hundreds of miles away and commanded everyone to fly over and rescue him—

Whether it was his aptitude, his affinity with nature, or his friendliness towards the elves, everything was impeccable. Most importantly, he was a spellcaster!

And aren't spellcasters always the commanders?

"No need to rush now." Garrett looked into the middle-aged elf's eyes and gently shook his head, his voice soothing. Then, he stood up and gazed far, far into the distance, in the direction where the Sky Knight was rampaging:

"The enemy is very strong, and we can't defeat them immediately. If we want to win, and minimize our losses, we need to weaken the enemy as much as possible while strengthening ourselves."

"Keep him on the move, make him run back and forth, exhaust him, deplete as much of his strength, spirit, and attention as possible. Then, when the time is right for us, lure him into terrain that benefits us."

"When the enemy advances, we retreat. When the enemy halts, we harass. When the enemy is tired, we strike."

Garrett squinted, quietly clenched his fist, and stared into the distance:

"When the enemy retreats... we pursue!"

"Just like a wolf pack hunting." With this explanation, even the barbarians quickly understood Garrett's plan. Bernard nodded in agreement:

"When a wolf pack hunts a deer, one wolf alone won't win and will get kicked to death. So, a whole pack needs to chase after it, slowly harassing it."

He gestured with his hands, explaining to the middle-aged elf:

"Keep the deer from resting, drinking, or eating. Wear it down until it's completely exhausted, then pounce and tear it apart."

"But who will act as those wolves?" Sisoyin frowned:

"The opponent is so strong, maybe Moon Song can escape after harassing him a bit, and maybe Miss Cirilla can too. But the others would be in great danger... Besides, he's so fast, he might not even be tired before we are..."

"Perhaps we don't need to do it ourselves." Garrett responded calmly. Sisoyin was stunned:

"Huh?"

"I heard the forest's lament, felt nature's fury." Garrett slightly raised his head, recalling the overwhelming anger he sensed during his meditation that night:

"Maybe we can talk to the forest, ask them to join us. After all, that guy is going to chop his way through, cutting down every ancient tree. Instead of letting them be cut down for nothing, why not..."

"That doesn't seem right, does it?"

"There's nothing wrong with it." Garrett gently shook his head:

"We're not ordering them. Whether they join or not is their choice. We're just asking for a friend's help, telling them that everyone is in danger now, and asking them to stand with us against the enemy..."

"But can you do it?"

Aishe Moon Song suddenly asked. The seasoned forest guardian scrutinized Garrett from head to toe, her eyes full of concern:

"Communicating with such a large forest all at once, even in the Bountiful Forest, only a few elders can do that. Garrett, I know you're very talented, but... don't push yourself too hard!"

"I definitely can't do it alone!" Garrett naturally shrugged. Before Aishe Moon Song could jump to her feet, he smiled again:

"That's why I need your help. So, let's find an ancient tree, the strongest, most robust one nearby, preferably one that's blooming, and let it spread the message..."

"That... that could work... Originally, I was going to say I have an ancient formation here that might help a bit..."

"Then let's use it together!"

Half an hour later, Garrett, holding an oak staff, stood beneath a towering tree with lush branches and leaves. With his eyes closed, he leaned slightly forward, resting his forehead against the rough bark.

Silently, the oak staff in his hand extended a few roots, burrowing deep into the ground. At the treetop, 11 leaves began to move without wind, glowing green from top to bottom.

Behind him, Aishe Moon Song and Sisoyin stood on either side, occupying two corners of the magic array. Both elves were serious, their spears or longbows turned into wooden staves, deeply embedded in the ground.

Lady Jasmine and Lord Appa stood at the other two corners beside Garrett, while Cirilla stood farther away, facing Garrett from across the tree trunk.

A mixture of magic crystal powder, ores, plant sap, and beast blood outlined complex lines on the ground. Bernard and Mr. Hawthorn kept their distance, fearing they might disturb even a single line.

"Begin," Garrett ordered succinctly. He then regulated his breathing, expanded his mental energy, and tried to resonate with the ancient tree in front of him:

"An enemy is coming... An enemy is approaching... Please help me, please help us... Tell the forest's friends, tell the forest's kin, let us fight together..."

"Yes, that's it! Did you hear it? Did you feel it? The pain of being severed, the sorrow of falling, the fear of dying bit by bit, separated from the crown and the trunk..."

"He will kill more, kill more! All of them, all of those who have grown for many, many years, the powerful ones, once he finds them, he will kill them!"

In a trance, Garrett felt a force lifting him higher and higher. Rising, rising, overlooking the giant tree beneath him, overlooking the forest below, overlooking the distant, distant coastline...

Garrett instinctively swayed. But almost simultaneously, a gentle force continuously replenished him. The magic array's pentagram carefully organized all the power, providing him with strong support.

It nourished him, sustained him, allowing his mental energy to expand without feeling tired or drained. Centered on the oak staff and the ancient tree, the gentle, soft energy spread out, like mountain winds and moonlight, flowing endlessly:

"Did you hear?"

"Did you understand?"

"Answer me!"

"Respond to me!"

In his mental energy, one by one, green light dots lit up. The mountain wind howled, the grass and trees swayed, and for the first time, the ancient trees in the surrounding forest clearly responded to Garrett's call:

"We heard!"

"We understood!"

"The forest's enemy is our enemy, those who harm our kin are our enemies!"

"We are willing to join!—What do you need us to do?!"

In the pentagram, the Silver Moon Deer suddenly let out a low roar. Lady Jasmine clenched her hands tightly. Across the tree trunk, Cirilla, though unable to see Garrett's expression, instinctively gasped:

"You will die." Garrett's face had already darkened. In the world of meditation, his sorrow, pain, guilt, and determination were transmitted without reservation:

"You will die. Many, many of you will die—"

"Many have already died!"

"We heard the screams!"

"The enemy is coming, coming—Ah—"

"Everyone will die! We might as well fight! Fight!"

These magical plants, which had grown for hundreds or even thousands of years and had gained great power and wisdom, eagerly conveyed their thoughts to Garrett.

Garrett took a deep breath, focused his mind, and communicated with a light spot in the farthest corner:

"Declare your presence! Make a commotion! Make the biggest commotion and lure him over!"

The green light suddenly brightened. In Garrett's perception, in a distant, distant direction, a green light shot up into the sky.

The white light suddenly started moving rapidly. The entire forest, every tree, began to convey their fear and thoughts in a rush:

"He's coming, he's coming!"

"The enemy is coming!"

Shouts of alarm, screams, and warnings echoed in the world of meditation. Seeing the white light approaching quickly, Garrett urgently contacted that light spot:

"Hide!"

But the other party did not heed his call. The green light spread out recklessly, waving, declaring its presence. Finally, the white light flared, and the green light dimmed, fell, and disappeared.

Garrett didn't even have time to grieve. He suppressed his trembling emotions, focused his mind, and contacted another distant light spot:

"Declare your presence!"

In the far distance, a fierce wind suddenly rose, and green light shot up into the sky.

Adrian Lopez suddenly

 turned his head.

For half a day, he had been running and flying non-stop through the forest. In fact, flying in the air was even easier than staying on the ground:

There were no mosquitoes swarming around his face, no poisonous insects crawling up his boots trying to bite him, no leeches suddenly dropping from above, and while walking, he wouldn't suddenly get snagged by a branch or have his vision obscured by leaves...

But flying in the air meant he could be alerted by every disturbance in the forest.

Just after cutting down one tree here, a strong wind would rise there; after a moment of peace in this corner, before he could even search, a flock of birds would suddenly take flight over there...

A burst of a hundred miles, another burst of a hundred miles. Even without using divine spells to search, such repeated dashes were an enormous drain on him:

He's been sprinting back and forth seven or eight times all day!

"Show yourself!" He tightly gripped his longsword, his voice thundering across the forest. But to Garrett's ears, it sounded far less potent than before:

"What's the point of these little tricks?!"
