Adrian Lopez investigated the aftermath of an attack on his soldiers, discovering that their leader and knights were killed by an elven ranger and other powerful individuals. Meanwhile, Garrett sensed an approaching enemy filled with malice.

The forest's agony still simmered.

Nature's fury had not yet subsided.

The trees that had been severed, lying on the ground, still had crowns that remained vibrant. It would take many days for them to wither and die.

So, when Adrian Lopez, carrying an aura that was more refined and sharper than that of the intruders, stepped into this forest, the entire forest seemed to scream.

All the trees, all the birds, were using their own ways to warn their friends and the protectors of nature:

"Beware! Beware! The enemy is here!"

To those who couldn't hear the voice of nature, these warnings might just sound like the rustling of leaves or the call of a night bird. But to those who were nature's favored, these sounds were loud enough to wake them from sleep, even from dozens of miles away.

Aishe Moon Song was awakened;

Sisoyin was awakened;

Even Garrett, though groggy and bewildered, felt the need to wake up—

Even though he didn't know why he was uneasy, and if not for being forcibly made to meditate, he wouldn't have received nature's warning at all.

Even so, Aishe Moon Song and Sisoyin exchanged a glance and both saw the obvious joy in each other's eyes.

After all, Garrett was still a cub!

And not just any cub—one with only half-elven blood!

Without formal training, he already had such sharp instincts. His future potential was limitless!

"So... should we strike first?"

Half an hour later, everyone, including the slightly grumpy Cirilla, had been roused and gathered in the wizard's cottage. Aishe Moon Song was the first to ask:

"Should we attack him before he discovers us? Use the forest's power, nature's power, to eliminate him directly?"

"Attack! Attack!" Cirilla was eager to fight. The young silver dragon clenched her tiny fists and waved them vigorously. With a loud 'pop,' Garrett instinctively moved aside, almost suspecting she was about to create a sonic boom.

"Or... should we hide first? After all, he doesn't know where we are, and might not be able to find us. There's no need to fight if we don't have to..." Mr. Hawthorn hesitantly countered. Mercenaries and adventurers weren't afraid of combat, but they never engaged in pointless battles. No commission? No advance payment? Not forced into a fight by a chance encounter?

Then why rush into battle?

Merely because they disliked someone, or because someone "might" pose a threat?

To travel dozens of miles to fight an unknown foe, risking injury or even death for such reasons?

Absolutely not!

A mercenary wouldn't do such a thing!

"I also don't think it's a good idea," Lady Jasmine gently supported her husband's opinion:

"We're still far from that enemy. Everyone is already exhausted, and rushing there at night might not achieve the surprise attack we're hoping for. It would be better to choose a battlefield that suits us."

Cirilla pouted, instinctively wanting to argue, but she paused, then turned to look at Garrett. Garrett, deep in thought, was reflecting on the information he had just received during meditation. Only after being nudged twice by the young silver dragon did he slowly speak:

"I'm thinking... whether the remaining villagers should continue to evacuate. Or, compared to not alarming them, is it safer for them if we leave on our own?"

The two elves exchanged a glance, their expressions shifting. While the others were considering whether to fight and how to fight, Garrett's first thought was, as expected, the safety of the native villagers...

"If the enemy hasn't arrived yet, evacuation would undoubtedly be safer," Aishe Moon Song responded without hesitation:

"But the enemy is already within dozens of miles. At this time, to activate the Ancient Vine Bird and carry people as we did today?"

She didn't need to continue. Even Cirilla knew that this was a bad idea. The magic fluctuations from activating the Ancient Vine Bird were massive, and it would be easy to alert someone. And once alerted, that powerful warrior would catch up in no time...

She wasn't afraid, and Aishe Moon Song wasn't afraid either. As for Garrett, she was certain she could protect his safety. But the villagers dangling outside the Ancient Vine Bird? They would undoubtedly be sitting ducks.

"Although it's unsafe to leave them unattended, evacuating them seems more dangerous at the moment," Sisoyin mused aloud. The forest ranger lightly tapped the ground beneath him, and the terrain of the surrounding hundreds of miles became crystal clear in his mind:

"The chance of that village, a hundred miles from the passage, being discovered is already low. Our best plan is not to alarm them and not to meet them at all. The less they know, the safer they are."

"So we... just run away?" Cirilla pouted in disappointment. Garrett smiled, patting her hand:

"Isn't that the safest option for the villagers? Besides, if we fight that powerful warrior, Cirilla will definitely be on the front line—I don't want Cirilla to get hurt either."

"I-I won't let Garrett get hurt either!" The young silver dragon's long, pointed ears twitched. Even though they were transformed by magic, the tips of her ears still blushed a bit pink. Seeing this, Garrett's fingers itched; he was really tempted to pinch them...

He cleared his throat, turning to Aishe Moon Song and said seriously:

"Then it's settled. Sister Moon Song, do you need to sleep to ensure you can cast spells?"

"I can sleep a bit less!" Aishe Moon Song replied without hesitation. After a moment's thought, she added:

"I'm an elf! I don't necessarily need a full night's sleep! But little Garrett, you should go sleep quickly. Once you've rested, we'll move out!"

"Uh... you don't all have to wait for me... actually, there are other ways..."

Half an hour later, Bernard and Mr. Hawthorn were quietly walking through the forest, riding on Apa. Sisoyin had transformed into a gray wolf, silently leading the way;

Cirilla and Lady Jasmine each rode a Phantom Steed, moving silently within the group;

Aishe Moon Song had transformed back into a black panther and was running around them;

As for Garrett... Garrett was wrapped in a blanket, sound asleep on a Floating Disc, with drool trickling from his mouth...

The group moved quietly through the night. Under the guidance of the elf forest ranger and nature, they chose a path rich in natural energy, covered by dense foliage, and as far as possible from the enemy.

They walked.

Walked.

They traveled through the night.

They walked ten miles, twenty miles, fifty miles... From the pitch-black darkness to the first light of dawn in the east. Garrett woke up after a sound sleep, rubbing his eyes:

"Ah..."

So tired...

Sleeping on the Floating Disc was really uncomfortable... The disc was hard, much worse than a bed. After a night, his back was sore...

Next time, I should try to modify the spell model, or just get a sleeping bag enchanted with the Floating Spell...

"Garrett, you're awake!"

A crisp voice sounded nearby, full of energy and joy. Garrett quickly turned his back to Cirilla, casting Water Ball and Cleansing Spells in quick succession. After tidying himself up, he propped himself up on the Floating Disc and jumped to the ground:

"I'm awake!—How far have we gone? How much longer until we're out of here?"

"We took a curved route last night," a steady voice answered. Sisoyin returned from his run, extending a wolf claw to draw a simple map on the dirt:

"Last night, Lady Moon Song communicated with the forest. The new enemy is basically on a vertical line with us. And now, we’re roughly on a horizontal line with him, about twenty miles apart..."

"What about the enemy?"

"Lady Moon Song sensed about an hour ago; the enemy hasn't moved yet."

Garrett nodded lightly. Twenty miles—if the enemy had a clear target, it would only take a short time for a high-level warrior. But without a target, in the vast sea of trees, it was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

"Keep moving, don't stop. The farther we are from him, the safer we are. Keep the fluctuations to a minimum, don’t let him find us."

Garrett would never forget the time when he first went to the battlefield. A high-ranking archbishop of the Radiant Church had used some kind of divine artifact to roughly pinpoint his location.

He would also never forget that in the council, there were many tools designed to locate people based on spell fluctuations. For example, during the legendary battle they had witnessed, the compass in the cave could mark the direction of various spell fluctuations.

Having come this far, they had to be even more cautious!

"Don't worry. After we transform, our spell fluctuations are no different from those of wild beasts," Sisoyin raised his head. From the face of that gray wolf, Garrett could see nothing but confidence and pride:

"Nature is protecting us. It won't be easy for those enemies to find us."

"Cirilla is also transformed!" The young silver dragon cheerfully turned around. She swiftly dispelled her Phantom Steed and jumped to the ground:

"See, this way, there's no spell fluctuation at all!"

"I don't need to ride a horse either."

Lady Jasmine smiled as she dismounted her Phantom Steed. Even in the forest, the half-elf’s steps were light, and neither the gnarled roots nor the thorny underbrush could trip her.

The two Phantom Steeds were dispelled. Garrett looked down at himself:

"Uh..."

It seemed he was the most useless one... Unable to move quickly on his own without the Phantom Steed, and unable to

 transform into a leopard to run freely through the forest...

So far, whenever he took the form of a black panther, he would still stumble and trip...

"Garrett, get on Apa's back."

Aishe Moon Song ran back, raising a paw with a smile as she looked at the group:

"So far, you’ve had the widest range of communication with nature. Just focus on meditating to warn us. And remember to cover yourself with nature's aura."

Garrett: "..."

He mumbled as he climbed onto the Silver Moon Deer, closed his eyes, extended his mental power, and connected with the nearest tree. Using it as a starting point, he resonated with the surrounding nature:

"—Everyone, be careful to stay hidden!"

He suddenly opened his eyes wide, speaking urgently:

"The warrior has started moving! He's flying! He's searching!"

In the sky, the sound of swords cutting through the air echoed, slicing through the atmosphere. On the ground, the team members looked at each other, their expressions grave, each instinctively holding their breath.
