"If not the crystals, then what could it be?" Du Beiye questioned skeptically.

"Perhaps they're targeting the human race itself."

No sooner had she spoken than a Matkuna General emerged behind her. Detecting the threat, Jiao Lizhi whirled around and parried with her scythe.

The metallic impact reverberated through the area, leaving her ears buzzing.

Given her present strength, confronting a Matkuna General proved straightforward. In under 20 exchanges, her scythe bisected the massive bug. Corrosive blood hitting the ground sizzled fiercely.

No time remained for their conversation, as Matkuna soldiers kept emerging in droves from the spaceships.
