Jin Xuyan offered to take Kelly back to Huaxia after reaching Red Cliff Base, prompting her to volunteer her team as guides. Tensions flared when Jane challenged Kelly's authority, sparking insults and Mo Junjie putting Jane to sleep with black mist. The Phantom Team displayed mutant supplies including wolf meat, grains, eggs, and milk, securing a deal with Bryan for phased payments and departure in two days. While Bryan left angrily, the team scouted, cleaned their temporary base, and impressed Rong Qiaohui with their high levels.

Having come to this realization, Rong Qiaohui's gaze at Jin Xuyan shifted in an instant. She was fully aware of the dire perils in the Thirteen Colonies. That was exactly why she put up with the mockery from her teammates and stayed by their side.

Her power belonged to the auxiliary category, leaving her defenseless on her own.

To secure their protection, she labored tirelessly to supply water for the group. Nevertheless, her status within the team remained lowly. Were it not for her Captain's safeguarding, she might have already been tormented to death.

At last, she had encountered a formidable team capable of escorting her back to her homeland. Once returned, she could reunite with her family. Surrounded by them, she was certain she wouldn't face the same level of suffering as before.

Buoyed by her cheerful spirits, she offered, "Comrade, let me help you."

The team members welcomed her assistance without protest, assigning her to tidy up the lobby.

As she bonded happily with her fellow compatriots, Bryan's face grew as black as a pot's underside.

From the seat behind him, Adam questioned, "Captain, are you really letting Kelly go?"

"She is the strongest water-type mutant in our team. If she leaves, we will face a water shortage. We can’t let her go," Liam declared.

"She has legs and can go wherever she wants. With how you all treat her all the time, do you think she will be willing to stay?" David inquired calmly.

"David, what do you mean by that? Do you think we didn’t treat her well?" Liam demanded furiously.

David gave a light chuckle before responding, "You know yourself how you treat her. We all know you are her ex-boyfriend, and you have a fling with Jane. But that didn’t give you the right to treat her like that."

"I didn’t..."

Before Liam could finish speaking, David interrupted him, "You don’t have to sugarcoat your actions. I have eyes and can see what’s going on. Isn’t it because she refuses to get back together with you so you sow discord and make the members misunderstand her?"

"You are not better than us. Even if you didn’t join us, you also didn’t help her," Lucas interjected.

"At least, I didn’t bully her while taking her kindness for granted," David replied with a shrug.

From the passenger seat up front, Bryan ground his teeth and snapped, "Enough!"

Noticing their Captain's foul mood, the group finally fell silent. They couldn't fathom his true intentions.

He always handled Kelly like any regular member. Yet, whenever he caught them harassing her, he'd discipline them. Still, he prohibited them from letting her find out.

Because of that, even though the members frequently pressured Kelly, they never crossed the line too far. Limited to minor schemes and cutting remarks, they never dared physically harm her.

Throughout the trip, each person sank into their own contemplations.

Meanwhile, various survivor bands slipped from their hideouts, advancing toward the Phantom Team. They had witnessed Bryan's crew approach that group for talks and return with provisions.

Convinced they could snag some supplies, they headed over to test their luck. Acquiring them peacefully would be best. But should the group refuse, force was no issue for them.

Under an hour later, these bands reached the structure housing the Phantom Team.

Positioned by the entrance, Pei Yixie warned, "Brother, these people come with bad intentions. They want to rob our supplies."

As she spoke, Li Sikai lifted his hand, and in the next instant, a enormous dome-shaped lightning barrier materialized, enveloping the whole building.

The onlookers were stunned when the lightning net erupted without warning. Thankfully, their reflexes were quick, sparing them injury from it.

After sealing them outside, Li Sikai stepped forth, positioning himself two meters from the net. He swept his gaze over them and stated coolly, "This place is taken. Please leave."

Observing the man's pale skin, mild eyes, and attractive features, a notion flickered through their minds.

In the post-apocalyptic world, women's numbers had plummeted, while stress levels skyrocketed. To vent frustration, most survivors dove into debauchery.

With females too few, many men shifted focus to their own gender. The first prey: delicate, handsome, slim young males.

Li Sikai wasn't precisely slender, but his shoulders were broad with a tapered waist. He looked toned in clothes, sculpted without. Paired with his phoenix eyes, he outshone the rugged brutes of the 2nd colony.

Sensing the shift in their stares, Li Sikai felt off. Before he could grasp it, Pei Yijun stormed up, snarling, "Bunch of beasts! Bastards, how dare you defile Brother Sikai in your filthy minds?!"

Her tirade made it all too clear.

Li Sikai's expression soured, and with a quick wrist flick, bolts of lightning plummeted from above.

Crack! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The strikes hammered the crowd straight on. Higher-tier ones dodged or deflected, taking wounds. Lower ones charred into crisped remains instantly.

Watching him slay so many in a flash, they ditched any dreams of claiming him as a toy.

Narrowing his eyes, Li Sikai warned icily, "Leave now, or don’t blame me for taking your lives."

No need for a repeat; they dispersed like panicked birds.

Beside Li Sikai, Pei Yixie spat toward their backs and fired her airguns at their legs. The audacity to target her brother!

Each shot drew a scream of pain. Even after her payback, she puffed her cheeks in lingering rage.
