Wizard: Unlimited Profession Slots Chapter 1391 - 547: Chimera Hotpot (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard: Unlimited Profession Slots...
"Each of you is a unique ’head,’ powerful and irreplaceable."
"But if you each fight alone, your powers will clash, like the two heads of a Chimera tearing at each other."
"And today, this kitchen counter, this pot, is your shared ’body.’
"We will learn how to have different ’heads’ cooperate to create the miracle where one plus one is far greater than two."
Hillas, listening outside the door, paused the pen of his recording device on the paper.
Under the subtle influence of the Chaos Factor, his initial resistance began to loosen, and a feeling called ’curiosity’ started to sprout in his heart:
"This metaphor... is indeed very creative.
Perhaps I should set aside my prejudices and carefully observe what he’s trying to do?"
The change in this thought was so natural that Hillas was entirely unaware it wasn’t entirely his own.
.........
Ron began to introduce the ingredients to be used today one by one.
Each had unique ’personalities’ and magical traits, requiring specific handling methods.
"First, is the Resonance Shroom."
The peculiarity of this fungus is that each of its cells acts like a miniature tuning fork, emitting faint tones when stimulated by magic power.
As Ron’s fingers approached, the silver light threads inside the fungus began to vibrate at a specific frequency, producing a melody as pleasant as chimes.
"They come from deep within the Sound Cave, where every rock sings."
Ron’s voice carried a narrative rhythm:
"The Resonance Shroom has grown in that environment for thousands of years, learning to listen and respond to every sound around.
But because of this, they are extremely sensitive to emotions; even the slightest hostility can cause them to wither and turn into a pile of silent ashes."
In a sandbox simulation, Ron saw a scene that was both humorous and exasperating:
A group of Resonance Shrooms was holding a concert, each trying hard to play its part.
But the problem was, sitting in the audience was a temperamental Chimera cub; its dragon head kept spewing small sparks, while the lion head let out threatening growls.
The outcome was predictable—all the shrooms burrowed into the ground in fear, leaving the concert in dead silence.
[Hint: You need to teach this little Chimera how to ’listen gently’]
Ron’s gaze turned to Gareen, the boy who had been trying hard to control his inner anger:
"Gareen, your task is not to ’cut it open,’ but to ’persuade’ it with your emotions.
Let it feel your goodwill, and let it bloom for you willingly."
Gareen’s metal arm instinctively tightened, making a slight scraping sound.
He had always been accustomed to solving problems with strength, but now he had to learn gentleness, which was undoubtedly a huge challenge for him.
"Next, is the Emotion Flower."
Ron gently caressed a bizarre plant whose petals resembled pale purple crystal:
"Its gift is absorbing negative emotions, but this ability makes it lonely.
Because people always treat it as a ’trash bin,’ never truly caring about its feelings."
He turned to Sied, the young man with the blood of the Danasu Race, naturally adept at communicating with plants:
"Sied, your task is to become its friend.
Exchange your happiness for its nectar, which is the tear it sheds when it feels truly cared for."
Sied nodded.
He could feel the deep loneliness within the Emotion Flower, that complex emotion of wanting to be understood yet afraid of being hurt.
Next were the other auxiliary materials:
Chameleon Peppers, which could change color and taste based on the emotional atmosphere around them;
Whispering Leaves, which emit beautiful melodies in front of a pure-hearted person;
Hourglass Potatoes, curled tight inside, requiring patience to release their true essence;
And Memory Fruit, capable of preserving the maker’s deepest emotional memories...
Each ingredient had its unique ’personality’ and handling method, corresponding to different skills the students needed to develop.
Hillas’s recording device was operating at high speed, analyzing the magical composition of these ingredients.
Data showed that these seemingly ordinary culinary materials actually contained extremely complex energy structures.
The magical density of some ingredients even approached levels of specialized alchemy materials.
His heart began to waver:
"The magical composition of these ingredients is so complex... could it be that this really isn’t just a simple cooking activity?"
"Is there perhaps a deeper meaning?"
But reason quickly suppressed this suspicion.
He shook his head, refocusing on the task of ’objective recording’:
"Absurd, utterly absurd.
No matter how complex the ingredients are, it doesn’t change the fact that this is essentially a waste of time."
Initially, the students’ performance was just as Hillas anticipated—poor.
Gareen tried to handle the Resonance Shroom using the same methods he used for metal.
As a result, in the face of his latent hostility, the shroom quickly withered, turning into a heap of dull, gray-white fragments.
"No, no, no!"
The boy pounded the kitchen counter in frustration, the sound of his metal arm clashing with the stone surface echoing sharply:
"Why did this happen? I was being so careful!"
Sied made another mistake.
He felt too much sympathy for the Emotional Flower’s plight, projecting his deep-seated sorrow and pity onto it without reservation.
As a result, the Emotion Flower greedily absorbed these negative emotions, producing nectar with a hint of unsettling bitterness.
Other students were also encountering various problems:
