Wizard: Stronger through Marriage Chapter 1364 - 637: Mana Web Expedition (Part 2)

Suddenly the wall shuddered, and a shattered, shadowy rift savagely tore through the spatial barrier, spilling from within a breath of twisted Chaos and the stench of corrosive Energy.
A choking black mist surged into the corridor, draining the oxygen in an instant, blurring the field of vision, and pressing upon the mind with an invisible weight that made every breath hurried and painfully difficult.
But David clenched his teeth and steadied his stance. With his staff on his back, he drew from his coat Reina’s improved version of the anti-phase Shield device and activated it.
A crystalline blue Shield unfolded at once, spreading like a supple curtain of water to bar the black mist outside, winning precious time for the team to press on and delve toward the core of the truth.
They would chance upon unspeakable terrors and confront dangers unknown, yet the Watchers did not retreat by a single step.
In this vast and boundless Cosmos, they used their lives to guard order, their faith to disperse Chaos, their wisdom to inscribe a new age of Legend!
The sun slowly tilted westward, and the last ray of afterglow lit the crest of the desolate sand dune.
In the burnished light of sunset, the Floating fortress of New Hongqiao could be seen in the distance, its crystalline brilliance glimmering across the sky like scattered stars.
This city was not only a miracle of technology, but a warm harbor on which all living things relied, the undying locus of faith for all Watchers!
Before night fell, in the temporary encampment on the Kasron border, Liya once more sent a message through the star-etched Secret Technique: "Commander, we have detected more anomalous Soul activity coordinates, highly correlated with multi-realm rift phenomena.
I will continue tracking and report in real time. Please, by all means, heighten your vigilance."
Reina was standing before the main control console, her slender fingers deftly sliding across the suspended holographic screens. The tangled data and Runes leapt and flickered like the most enigmatic veins of stars in the Cosmos.
Her brows were tightly knit, her gaze deep and intent; with every cycle of data analysis, her heartstrings were tugged.
"The signal spectrum matches perfectly the Energy Wave pattern left behind when Alia self-detonated."
Her voice was low, yet carried an undeniable shock. "This is not only a signal drifting across Planes—it may well be a distress call sent by a survivor."
A rustling murmur swelled at once through the council hall; faces were alight with astonishment and awe.
Alia—that brave one who, in the last decisive battle, traded her life for a spark of hope—her message had actually crossed the barrier of time and space, echoing now in the depths of this boundless Cosmos.
David stood at the center of the rostrum. He slowly closed his eyes, feeling that faint summons transmitted from a distant dimension.
Sunlight slanted through the high windows, stretching his shadow long, casting it in interweaving brilliance with the shards of the Chaos Core.
He opened his eyes, those star-like pupils deep and bright. "Even if I must cross the Creation Bastion itself, I will find my old friend."
His voice was gentle yet moved all hearts, like the brightest beam of radiance in the night of the Cosmos.
"This concerns not merely a single life; it is the Watchers’ undying persistence in the oath of a lost covenant."
Reina adjusted the coordinate-locking system on the holographic control panel, and a chaotic, blurred location marker slowly grew clear.
"The source of the signal points to the ’extrachordal Cosmos’—a realm that transcends all known Plane systems, woven with unknown Energies and orders merged with Chaos."
She explained, "It lies in the most perilous, unexplored region on the edge of the multiform spaces. With our current technology, we still cannot fully grasp its Law."
Hill tightened his Bloodstained Longsword, his gaze cold and resolute as he looked ahead. "No matter how mighty the foe, no matter how treacherous the road before us, we must keep moving forward.
This is the highest tribute to the fallen, the firmest guardianship for the future!"
Cynthia’s eyes, sharp as Ice, swept across the crowd. Clad in silver-blue Battle Armor, she emanated a steady, unassailable aura beneath the blazing lights.
"The Ecological Balance Department will join forces with the Beast King Soul Magicians to fully support the search, and we will also reinforce monitoring of the expansion trends of spatial rifts."
She spoke with iron resolve. "No potential threat will be overlooked. We will never allow the Undead to ravage the Earth again!"
The atmosphere in the meeting room was heavy and solemn; on every face lay complex emotions—reverence, anxiety, and inspiration intertwined.
They understood that this mission would be a trial beyond the Limit, a great test that crossed the boundary of the void.
David’s gaze turned toward the profound starry sky as the holographic projection gradually unfolded a vast Star Domain chart.
He lightly tapped the coordinate points with his fingertips; threads of dotted lines, silver serpents coiling and winding, locked precisely onto the position of the "extrachordal Cosmos."
He sighed softly. "That place is saturated with alien Energy; it is the only known Other Dimension beyond the Creation Bastion that can affect the primary Plane.
I must personally lead the team, use mortal will to break through unknown obstacles, and find the source of the message Alia has brought us."
His eyes burned with steadfast heat, like flaming stars;
the faint curve of his lips carried a subtle smile—that was the human warmth and spark of hope that could not be extinguished even after trials of life and death.
Meanwhile, along the side aisle of the hall, a group of Elf Mages began chanting an ancient prayer. They swept the air with their crystalline Magic Staffs, letting countless silver Runes drift down like raindrops to carpet the floor.
Their chant condensed into an invisible barrier, granting spiritual and Magic Power protection for the coming traversal mission, allowing the members of the "Dark Iron Guard" to withstand Otherworld impacts to the greatest degree.
Dwarf artisans busied themselves with adjusting the Teleportation Array devices. Sweat soaked through their heavy Armor, yet their faces held no fear, only unwavering perseverance—for this was more than a battle; it concerned the survival of all civilizations and the hope for their future.
Hill walked to David’s side. The two exchanged a smile, yet more than that, there was tacit understanding and unspoken pledge between them.
"Commander, no matter how far the road stretches, I will stay at your side and never betray the expectations placed upon us!" His ringing vow echoed like a drumbeat upon the hearts of all who heard, infusing them with boundless courage.
Cynthia checked her gear and raised the beastfang Scepter before her chest, a glint of frost flickering in her eyes. "I will lead the Beast King forces to clear a safe zone and win more time for you."
Reina, with meticulous care, fine-tuned the parameters of the arcane engine, bringing the Teleportation Array to optimal operational state, while simultaneously activating the newest anti-phase Shield system to counter threats in extreme environments of spatial distortion.
Outside New Hongqiao Floating City, the cloud layers slowly shifted into a magnificent palette of colors: from their original plain gray haze to splendid crimson, then to a deep cerulean hue, grand and vast as if heaven and Earth were resonating together.
All things portended the onset of an epic journey!
The night wind brushed past the spear-tips of the city walls, vine tendrils swaying in graceful forms, reflecting a faint silver luminescence beneath the pristine light of the moon.
Standing atop the highest observation tower, David once more gazed out upon the boundless sea of stars, and murmured in a low voice, "The blood-red echo is fate, and it is also redemption.
No matter how tightly darkness clasps the world, we, in mortal flesh, shall guard the last dawn!"
In that moment, all members were armed and ready. Some rechecked their equipment, some prayed in silence, some encouraged one another.
The weariness on every face could not conceal the roaring blaze within their hearts—that was the undying resolve to keep watch, the human spirit that stands unbowed across a thousand years of wind and frost!
On the dais of the council, David wore a simple yet imposing robe of gray-blue. His gaze was firm as he looked toward the data terminal gradually coming to life before him.
It was a new magic-net hub transformed from the core node of the gods’ Faith Network. Now, it was no longer merely a symbol of interwoven faith and power.
It had turned that once scattered, disorderly, superstition-laden information web into a universal, open, and transparent platform of knowledge for all.
It gathered culture old and new, science and technology, and Arcane Law, transmitting instructional content in the form of spirit sigils to every corner—whether it be a distant valley’s Beastman Tribe or a bustling city’s mechanical workshop, all could draw benefit from it.
David lifted his head and looked at the many delegates gathered in the hall.
They wore the distinctive attire of their races: Elves shimmering in silver scales, robust and towering Beastmen, and human elders in Armor whose expressions were mild and serene.
A resonance beyond words arose and blossomed in the hearts of these people, all tempered by blood and fire.
"Everyone," David’s voice was warm and unyielding as he slowly parted his lips, "we are standing upon the threshold of the mortal era.
