Wizard: Stronger through Marriage Chapter 1233 - 572: The Destruction Protocol
Previously on Wizard: Stronger through Marriage...
The sky was choked with dense black clouds, a great wind laden with dust and embers scouring past the palace spires, while lightning kept cleaving down from the heights, forming a grim and uncanny radiance under the glare of the Flames.
For a moment the Elemental World seemed to have plunged into the eve of a final judgment; people could only grit their teeth and endure, seeking the last glimmer of hope at the brink of despair!
Leixir raised Her hand and gathered a waterfall-shaped blue Water Shield of holy power, letting it fall from the palace roof to the Rainbow Core Crystal at the center of the square, where it clashed fiercely with the drifting, erratic corrosion of Chaos.
"We cannot give up! This is the last line of defense!"
The roar of the colossal Magma Giant was deafening; every sweep of its arms churned up raging torrents, its merciless trampling making solid buildings collapse in an instant. Thick smoke and dust billowed skyward, shrouding the air, forming a stark contrast with the distant azure heavens.
And those survivors scattered in terror; sweat and tears intermingled on their faces, yet they still held to a stubborn will, refusing to let Dark Devouring claim the last shred of life!
Time flowed slow and heavy, like water wearing down stone, yet in this moment it seemed especially brief and precious.
This was the fateful hour of the Elemental World, the truest manifestation of every Warrior’s Mind in resonant battle, their oath to fight to the end!
They believed that as long as hope yet endured, the future could still be overturned!
The sky above the Royal Capital of the Water Spirit gradually turned ashen, thick clouds pressing down like monolithic stones upon the city, as though they would swallow the entire world.
The Gale howled, carrying the intertwined breath of scalding magma vapors and icy water mist, like the fiercest roar between heaven and earth.
Queen Leixir stood tall before the palace’s viewing terrace, Her eyes clear as Abyssal lakes now blazing with resolve and wrath.
She wore a gauzy, splendid robe, Her hair lifting lightly in the wind, yet it could not conceal the worry and exhaustion carved deep between Her brows.
In this instant Her hands were gathering a searing azure Element Magic Power, surging at Her fingertips like a torrenting stream—this was Elemental Wrath, the Kingdom’s final hope of reprisal.
"All forces, prepare! Use every ounce of strength and drive the Magma Giant back!" Leixir ordered in a low, steady voice, Her burning gaze sweeping over the Guard commanders and Priests around Her; every face was etched with unyielding conviction and the urgency of an impending doomsday duel.
Just at this critical juncture, a strange fluctuation suddenly rippled around the Obelisk.
On the surface of its Obsidian-carved base, those long-hidden Observer Runes, buried under the dust of ages, flared with a pale blue light. One intricate symbol after another flickered and leapt like stars, appearing especially eerie and radiant in the night.
Reina frowned, fixing Her gaze on the information stream surging across the projection screen. "These Runes... they’re information codes left behind by the Observer Civilization!"
Her voice was low and trembling. "They seem to be actively activating themselves, transmitting an extremely vital data wave."
The entire hall fell instantly silent. Only the faint hum of digital Runes could be heard within their glow, woven together with the raging Elements outside into an ominous melody that shook the Mind yet stirred a nameless dread.
Leixir strode quickly to the Obelisk’s base, reaching out to place Her hand near that cluster of radiant Runes, and at once She felt a biting chill pierce Her skin, yet along with it came an indescribable surge, as if tearing through the very barrier of time and space.
"This... this is a destruction protocol..." Reina cried out, and amid the countless dense entries cascading down the data projection She discerned a veiled yet horrifying chain of information: "The so‑called betrayal of the Master of Flame Demon, the assault on the royal capital—these are not merely the awakening of its will or the swelling of its ambition, but part of a vast annihilation program long designed and controlled by the Observers themselves—’Ultimate Destruction Protocol.’"
The atmosphere in the hall grew ever more oppressive; one Guard commander clenched his fists tight, a Priest bowed his head in whispered Spell-prayer, yet in every pair of eyes there flickered the same uneasy mix of shock and fear.
This sudden revelation crashed down upon them like thunder out of a clear sky, overturning completely their understanding of the enemy, and filling their vision of the future with unprecedented, grave doubts:
Why would the Observers set themselves upon a path of opposition and ruin?
What unspeakable secret are they hiding?
How many unknown layers of conspiracy lie behind the truth of this catastrophe?
"Your Majesty..." Reina’s voice quavered, "we must adjust our strategy at once!
The enemy’s actions have been scripted and controlled; if we respond with conventional tactics, we may walk straight into their snare!"
Leixir slowly closed Her eyes for a moment, letting Her Mind settle into stillness. When She opened them again, a trace of composed coolness had joined Her gaze. "I understand," She said. "Since this is a preset protocol, we must seek out the program’s core and break it, and at the same time trigger our own ’Justice Backlash’—Elemental Wrath is not only power, it is a formidable information field, meant to counteract and reverse this cycle of destruction!"
Erin knelt by Her side, softly chanting ancient Spells to draw on Frost Energy, weaving a mental Shield around the Queen.
Cold surged forth, suppressing for a moment the surrounding scorching Flames; and this subtle equilibrium seemed also to mirror the wavering balance of the entire war—hope and despair entwined, contending against one another.
Outside, the sea of magma still raged and rolled, each burst of sparks reflecting the sight of Electric Flash and Thunder cleaving the clouds above, like Purgatory of the world’s end descending.
Within the palace, a metallic tang mingled with the lingering resonance of Magic Power, lending a tenacious vitality to a defense line that was already perilously fragile.
"Guard commanders, heed my command!" The Queen’s voice rang out, firm and sonorous; even faced with such a secret conspiracy, they could not retreat.
"Immediately reinforce the Barrier protecting the Obelisk, and at the same time assign Mages and Priests to form a ’Codebreaking Squad,’ led by Reina. Spare no effort to decode and interfere with the source code of that destruction protocol!"
