Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2803: 573: Supreme Council 25th Seat, God Descends!
Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
Throughout the annals of history, many individuals have harbored thoughts similar to his. A few were even led astray through reckless dealings with the Father of Plagues. Consequently, Levi understood that he had to remain incredibly vigilant while delving into the mysteries of plague and poison.
While immersed in his research, Levi took a moment to sip his tea, noticing the dark silhouette of the Tyrant of Horror manifesting nearby. With a grave expression, it reported: "Master, there is someone seeking an audience with you."
"Who might that be?"
"It is the Despair Monarch."
...
Within the Black Dragon Territory.
Levi arrived, radiating an air of authority.
Waiting inside the conference hall was a handsome Naga, looking visibly anxious. The figure seemed to relax slightly upon seeing Levi appear, offering a greeting:
"It has been quite some time, Sir Levi."
"Hahaha, is it not a great joy to receive friends from distant lands?"
Levi signaled for the Naga to take a seat, adding with a faint smile:
"As the saying goes, one does not visit the three treasure halls without a specific purpose. What brings you here today?"
The Despair Monarch scanned the surroundings before erecting a protective barrier.
Only after securing the area did it speak in a low tone: "This is a matter of great importance. I hope you will not take offense."
"Please, speak your mind freely."
"From what I have gathered, several Nightmare Monarchs are currently deliberating on a joint remote invasion of Nora. They reached out to me as well, though I have yet to give them my consent."
"Can you identify them?"
"I cannot say. Many Nightmare Monarchs possess unique methods of perception. You only need to trust that my words are genuine, and the Nora Council must begin their preparations immediately. It will be a grueling struggle to withstand simultaneous calculated strikes from both the Abyss and the Nightmare World."
Levi fell into deep thought; it was no wonder he had felt a lingering sense of unease lately. These were truly turbulent times, and the disasters threatening Nora were becoming far too numerous.
"Roughly how many Nightmare Monarchs are involved in this?"
"I am uncertain. I suspect that more than ten could mobilize in a short period, depending on their organization. Currently, only a portion of the Monarchs are swayed by the idea. As far as I am aware, the Supreme Will of the Nightmare World remains in a state of slumber. Were it otherwise, the sheer scale of the Nightmare World would rival that of the Abyss."
Levi gave a subtle nod.
Had the Nightmare World been truly weak, the astral world would have conquered it long ago.
The Black Dragon Territory and its surrounding expanses represented merely the tip of the iceberg; Levi had yet to truly encounter the profound depths of the Nightmare World.
The silver lining, however, was that the Nightmare World was not launching a total war. The current situation seemed more like a rogue faction attempting to seize an advantage while the Abyssal demons were preoccupied with the Blood Battle. If the Nightmare World were to invade with its full might, Nora would likely face immediate destruction!
Naturally, should such a crisis occur, the power balance within the Land of Darkness would shift, forcing them to find ways to harness the astral world's strength to repel the Nightmare World. Despite their poor relationship with the Gods, Nora would essentially become their indirect ally.
In short, this development required the utmost attention.
Still, there was no need for excessive paranoia or to worry like a restless thinker.
Since the plan was only in its infancy, the Despair Monarch possessed limited information and could not disclose much more to Levi, making further questioning pointless.
Finally, Levi voiced the doubt lingering in his mind.
"Why would Your Excellency share such critical intelligence with me? Does this not constitute a betrayal of the Nightmare World?"
The response from the Despair Monarch left him somewhat stunned.
"In truth, I intend to depart from the Nightmare World. I am not a native level-10 entity of that realm, but rather an external mythical creature. Even though I rose to the rank of Nightmare Monarch, I have means to leave if I am willing to make certain sacrifices... I have no desire to be sucked into this conflict. Given my initial level-10 status, those ancient and arrogant Monarchs will undoubtedly look down upon me or use me as mere cannon fodder."
The Despair Monarch was well aware that its strengths did not lie in direct physical combat. Instead, it excelled at lurking in the shadows, using its powers of simulation and prophecy to calculate various outcomes. Based on its interactions with those self-important relics of the Nightmare World...
It knew it would never be truly valued there.
It shared no blood ties or history with the native Nightmare inhabitants.
To them, it was simply another outsider begging for scraps!
Furthermore, the Nightmare World was filled with beings possessing high-tier perception; losing a single Snake of the End like itself would be no great loss to them.
Based on its own research and simulations, its prospects in Nora appeared much brighter. Fundamentally, Nora was a rising super-civilization with a diverse structure, and the lifespans of Legendary Wizards were notably brief.
Species with shorter lives tended to be more receptive to new ideas. Their intellectual inertia and arrogance were far less pronounced than those who had existed for countless eons.
With the unique talents of a Snake of the End, it would surely be prized in Nora—provided those Legendary Wizards were wise and rational enough to utilize its abilities properly.
Most importantly, just over a century ago, it had sensed a massive surge in the power of the Dusk Palace Master, even feeling a faint hint of danger from him.
The rate of this individual's growth was staggering!
To the ancient fossils of the Nightmare World, a century was nothing more than the time it took to yawn; they often slept for millennia at a time.
According to its calculations, if Nora could seize this window of opportunity and unite its civilizational strength to protect this figure, those old antiques would wake up from a simple nap only to find... that the entire world had been transformed.
For now, it appeared the Nora Council was indeed doing a fine job of protecting him. Otherwise, the Abyssal demons would have wiped him out long ago.
Simply put, he was not someone to have as an enemy!
If victory is impossible, the only choice is to join them!
Levi inquired: "So, does Your Excellency wish to leave the Nightmare World in search of a quiet sanctuary, or do you intend to align yourself with another major power?"
Could it actually be considering joining Nora?
The Despair Monarch answered with deliberate emphasis:
