Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1615 - 558: General Angerik (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Everyone, keep up the assault!" Rein quickly warned.
As though sensing an imminent deadly strike, the dark fog gathered even swifter than during Rein's previous encounter in the jail, quicker by roughly three-tenths.
Yet, thanks to Rein's timely alert, the Fire Element Dawn Wizards snapped into action at last, unleashing a barrage of five straight Dawn Killing Moves against the ever-swelling blob of black mist.
"Hiss!!!"
A tormented screech echoed from the depths of the black mist, ear-splittingly sharp, as razor-like dark talons strained to emerge from the inferno, only to slowly dissolve under the blaze.
The sight sent shivers racing down the spines of nearly everyone there!
Once the flames had raged on for some time, filling the air with a foul odor everywhere, Rein's tense face finally eased, and he declared, "Okay, it's done for now!"
"Hiss~"
"At last, it's defeated!"
"Yeah, that was no walk in the park."
A heavy burden lifted from the hearts of all present!
Firing off those Dawn Killing Moves one after another drained the five Fire Element Dawn Wizards hugely, and right then, beads of sweat dotted their brows, rendering them almost unable to summon more Dawn Killing Moves.
...
Victory was theirs, yet Rein couldn't shake off a nagging unease deep inside.
For this foe proved far tougher than the pesky Ancient Minotaur back in the prison.
Just think about it—if the third underground layer was already this challenging, how brutal would the fourth and fifth be?
Plus, nothing guaranteed just a single ’King of Tyrannosaurs’ lurked in the Ancient Goblin outpost on that third underground floor.
Likely, more elite Goblin chiefs akin to Angerik waited in the wings.
Put simply, the adventures ahead promised a string of grueling clashes.
Naturally, Rein's top concern remained picking the right spot for his breakthrough.
"Seems I'll have to venture further into the third underground layer, where a Fiend Demon might truly endanger the Divine Incarnation," Rein mused inwardly.
As Rein mulled things over, Haleem approached with a mixed look of complexity and sheepishness, speaking to Rein:
"Umm... Lord Rein, might you ask the Steel Dragon to switch up its meal for the moment?"
Hmm?
Rein glanced up and found himself chuckling softly.
The Steel Dragon Dorick was chowing down vigorously on the ’King of Tyrannosaurs’ corpse, which explained the troubled grimace on Haleem's face as director of the Federation Mechanical Research Institute.
That King of Tyrannosaurs ranked as a supreme Battle Puppet from the Ancient Goblins, a prime specimen for study. Armed with its schematics, the Federation Mechanical Research Institute might whip up a copy of the ’King of Tyrannosaurs’ in no time.
"Sure thing."
Rein gave a gesture to the Steel Dragon Dorick, which promptly shot Rein a grudging glance, dropped the King of Tyrannosaurs' remnants, and turned to devour a Mechanical Velociraptor close by.
"I truly apologize, Lord Rein. The King of Tyrannosaurs' body is simply invaluable. Soon, I'll set up a special rare metal feast for the Steel Dragon," Haleem offered with regret.
"Lord Haleem, please don't stand on ceremony," Rein replied, grinning.
Haleem showed real thoughtfulness.
Truth be told, the Steel Dragon Dorick cared little for those intricate wirings; its real draw was the precious metals hidden in the King of Tyrannosaurs' husk.
And now, with Haleem, the Federation Mechanical Research Institute's leader, personally organizing a rare metal spread, it would benefit Steel Dragon Dorick even more.
"Go fetch ten kilograms apiece of Mithril and Gold Essence, offer some to the Steel Dragon to sample and pick its favorite, then haul out the full reserves."
"This..."
The researcher nearby appeared hesitant, aware that such ores were scarce, with the Federation's total output being limited. Allowing this beast to feast unbound might spell trouble...
"Follow my orders," Haleem commanded sternly, flicking his hand.
"Understood, sir." The researcher held his tongue and hurried to obey.
...
At the same time, several Dawn Wizards murmured among themselves, then shortly exchanged words with Terrio.
Before long, Sword Saint Terrio strode up, brow furrowed and face grave, stating, "Lord Rein, perhaps we should head back for now and plan carefully before tackling the next floor?"
Moments ago, he and the others had firsthand seen the Fiend Demon's might.
They did overcome the threat in the end, but the jolt from that fresh fight lingered stubbornly.
Up until now, foes of such intensity had eluded them entirely!
Your average Giant Beast, if chronicled in old tomes or its flaws scouted ahead, usually fell to just one of them solo.
Yet against this Fiend Demon, uniting five strong and spamming the Dawn Killing Move had pushed them to the brink of depletion, scraping by to fell only one such horror.
Not to mention, during the scrap with the King of Tyrannosaurs, they had hung back, saving their strength without truly engaging.
The psychological blow hit them hard.
"Oh? Might the Federation call in additional powerhouses?" Rein shot back.
"Hehe, Lord Rein, that's a jest. At present, rounding up these five Fire Element Dawn Wizards stretches the Federation to its utmost." Terrio chuckled uneasily.
"Lord Terrio, should the Federation skip summoning extra forces, I propose a short break before pressing on with the delve," Rein suggested, reflective.
"Talk alone won't boost our strength; on the contrary, with the energy surge growing fiercer, the Fiend Demons in the Floating City Ruins will ramp up their frenzy, as I'm sure we've all observed."
