Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1578 - 544: Descent of the Gods (Part 2)

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
As Prince Menia announced the appointment of Sword Saint Lambert as a new Imperial Guardian, a powerful aura erupted in the sky above the Imperial Palace, manifesting the towering Avatar of Luen, the God of Hunting, at the peak of Epic rank and perilously close to Demigod. Multiple divine avatars descended from all directions, including the monstrous Devouring Snake and the familiar Goddess Hela of the Nether Sea, plunging the joyous ceremony into apocalyptic terror and sparking frenzy among the nobles, with sudden stabbings and cries echoing through the stands. Menia swiftly restored order with commanding words, while the empire's forces mobilized—Griffin Knights, airships, and dragons soaring to defend—raising a colossal five-colored energy shield over the palace as citizens below cowered in fear, their spirits twisted by forbidden glances at the gods.

Elaborate lines of a vast witch array materialized across the ground; evidently, having learned from the prior incident, the Imperial Palace's defenses were now as solid as an unyielding fortress this time around.

"Descendants of Dragon, it seems you haven’t learned from last time." A booming and regal voice echoed through the air.

"Everyone, take action!"

Suddenly, numerous colossal shadows hovering in the sky launched their assaults on the vibrant swirling shield.

With a sweep of her hand, Nether Sea Goddess Hela unleashed a torrent of dark water spanning hundreds of meters, cascading from above and making the colorful vortex shield tremble fiercely.

The Devouring Snake twisted its enormous form and abruptly chomped at the colorful vortex shield over the palace, instantly creating a deep indentation in its surface.

In the following instant, as strikes from the other divine incarnations landed, a massive breach tore open in the colorful vortex shield.

"Not good! Everyone, follow me to meet the enemy!"

Elder Ivan bellowed, and right away, almost twenty Imperial Guardians charged forward to block the divine incarnations.

At the same time, Luen, the God of Hunting lingering behind the divine incarnations, gazed down at the oncoming Imperial Guardians with disdain and lifted his obsidian great bow, pointing it earthward.

A crimson energy arrow, forged from pure energy essence, swiftly took shape on the bowstring, while a swirling crimson energy vortex formed at the arrow's tip.

The power inside that vortex felt incredibly concentrated, forming small energy crystals that sparkled like distant stars.

All those watching could sense the tremendous force packed within it.

"Dodge! Elder Ivan!" Nearby Imperial experts urgently called out.

Since the aim was obviously at Elder Ivan, who oversaw the aerial efforts.

"Shoo!!!"

No words could capture the velocity of that arrow.

Just a second before, the crimson energy arrow rested on the bowstring, yet in the very next moment, it surged ahead, crossing the distance in a flash and piercing straight through Elder Ivan's innate wizardry Flame Shield.

Only faint ripples in the energy hinted that an object had just sliced through the barrier, barely skimming past the tip of Elder Ivan’s nose!

Thanks to the prior warning, Elder Ivan had managed to twist his body just before the shot.

"Roar!!!"

Suddenly, the red dragon beneath Elder Ivan let out a pained howl, plummeting from the heavens!

Although the arrow had spared Elder Ivan, it had hit his enormous dragon companion squarely.

With one shot alone, it had demolished the innate wizardry of a Dawn Late Stage Wizard and left an adult red dragon on the brink of death; this display of might sent a chill through everyone there, like a bucket of freezing water dumped on their heads.

"This is Luen’s Instant Teleportation Arrow, a legend says it’s unavoidable." Menia had reached Rein's side by now, her expression grave as she observed the event.

Having lost her dragon partner Tasa, Menia handled the ground defenses as per the strategy.

"Unavoidable?"

Rein knitted his eyebrows; even relying on his Seventh Form's defenses, he doubted he could endure such a blow.

If it depended on him, 'Shadow Shifting' appeared to be the sole method to dodge the strike.

Confronting the danger from Luen’s arrows, numerous Imperial Guardians promptly unleashed long-range witchcraft spells as counterattacks.

"Giant Rock Throwing!"

Reginald directed his finger toward Luen, and abruptly, a duo of earthy giant hands erupted from the soil, seized a boulder roughly twenty meters wide, and flung it with savage force!

"Drowsy Poison Cloud!"

Pantoscoke directed the green dragon Hazas under him to release a thick plume of murky green toxin toward Luen, which stood as one of Hazas’s innate special skills.

The other Imperial Guardians who could perform long-range witchcraft strikes also fired off their attacks.

The enormous boulder hurtled at Luen like a shooting star, but out of nowhere, a huge and threatening serpentine behemoth materialized to shield Luen directly.

"Smack!!!"

The Devouring Snake's tail whipped out with brutal power, smashing the boulder to fragments.

Simultaneously, it parted its gigantic jaws and drew in a breath, devouring every bit of Hazas’s poison clouds.

Moreover, the assorted vivid Dawn Witchcraft spells striking its hide oddly diminished in size, inflicting minimal harm.

Blocked by the Devouring Snake, the group found themselves powerless against Luen, the God of Hunting.

"These witchcraft energies have been devoured." Rein’s eyes narrowed a bit as he spoke.

"The situation is grim."

While the Imperial counterstrike seemed quite dazzling, Rein understood that the moment they halted, Luen would seize the chance to strike back; he worried that many of the Imperial Guardians here would perish.

"In the previous battle, the Devouring Snake worshipped by the Secret Snake Sect did not manifest as an incarnation, but unexpectedly it arrived this time as well." Menia creased her brow as she commented.

"Seems like only letting the Red Dragon King Straz take action in advance will do." Menia shattered a luminous crystal in her grasp.

The Red Dragon King?

Rein felt the earth shake at once.

"Roar!!!"

A deafening dragon's cry resounded.

Moments later, the palace's central square's ground started crumbling, and a colossal red dragon of mountain-like proportions rose up, revealing itself as the Red Dragon King Straz.

It wasted no time in blasting a huge cone-shaped blaze at the airborne Devouring Snake, setting the air for hundreds of meters around ablaze in a flash.
