Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1539 - 529: One Strike Shatters the Monolith (Part 3)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Yet that's just a rough guess; pushing First Level Witchcraft up to Third Level Witchcraft hits the absolute ceiling—how on earth could it mimic Dawn Witchcraft?"
...
Utterly stunned, the wizards from the Isodre School started murmuring to each other in disbelief.
Right at the school's gateway.
Rein shook his head while commenting, "Despite the Witch Array's backing, your strikes come off as underwhelming."
"Now it's time for me to strike!"
Slowly, Rein lifted a hand above his head, and moments later, a rough-edged dark silver disc, spanning a few meters wide, materialized just inches over his palm, whirling at breakneck speed.
Spinning with such ferocity, the disc appeared motionless to onlookers, save for the humming noise that betrayed its rapid rotation.
"Swish!"
A streak of dark silver brilliance flashed by, leaving most wizards there unable to track the disc's vanishing act.
Yet Malcolm, Isodre's deputy sect leader, was gripped by sheer horror!
For he numbered among the rare few who could trace the dark silver metal disc's trajectory.
Though three earthy kite-shaped shields burst from Malcolm's form in a flash, an instinctive dread surged through him, prompting a desperate dodge attempt.
Still, grasping the motion clearly doesn't guarantee evasion.
"Arrogant fool!"
Stuttgart's features stayed serene nearby. Despite the awe Rein's might had just instilled in him, he couldn't stand by idly as his trusted subordinate faced doom. Up went his hand.
Abruptly, a thick earth-yellow whirlpool erupted from the soil, wrapping around Malcolm and quickly hardening into a huge semi-clear gray boulder, amber-like in texture.
Tension eased from Malcolm's chest, his face easing into relief!
He recognized it as the 'Shield of Rock', his sect leader's signature earth defense witchcraft—empowered by the school's Witch Array, he was certain not even a mid-stage Dawn Witch could shatter it.
But the instant after!
"Swoosh!"
The enormous semi-transparent boulder, meters across, parted effortlessly like warm butter before a heated blade, offering zero opposition.
The notion of 'catastrophe' had barely flickered in Malcolm's thoughts when his body cleaved apart.
His face held onto that freshly softened look.
Yet the assault pressed on.
The elder wizard clutching an earth-hued orb, positioned a bit off to Malcolm's rear, stared in terror at the sight but felt a wave of relief, assuming his spot off the direct path had spared him.
Unexpectedly, though, the dark silver metal disc veered sharply in the sky, curved around, and carved straight through his brow with total ease!
Instantly, an upright corpse lingered, eyes bulging wide but bereft of its head's top portion.
Just like that, two Crystalization Peak wizards from the Isodre School fell one after the other!
"What!"
"How can this be!"
"It couldn't stop it!"
...
The pair of Crystalization Peak elder wizards stood dumbfounded, speechless!
"Metal Series Dawn Killing Move!" Stuttgart's face turned profoundly somber as he stressed every syllable.
Not even he had picked up on Rein unleashing a Dawn Killing Move.
Partly because Rein's invocation happened with startling swiftness, and partly since the disc's energy ripples stayed so subdued, betraying none of a Dawn Killing Move's potency.
Moreover, Stuttgart had dismissed the chance of such a move entirely.
After all, within the Empire's wizard schools, the Metal Series Dawn Killing Move was rumored lost ages ago, and he'd never dreamed Rein commanded such a potent, obscure Metal Series Dawn Killing Move.
Only when the whirling metal disc breached his 'Shield of Rock' did the true, staggering force of Rein's witchcraft dawn on him!
"No surprise he's this bold, showing up solo at the Isodre School—he's wielding such an uncommon Metal Series Dawn Killing Move!"
"Lord Rein, it looks like I've kept overrating you, only to keep underrating you still."
"That said, you're still far too youthful in the end. The Isodre School's millennium-long legacy runs far deeper than you imagine."
While Stuttgart uttered these words, a thick earth-yellow glow seeped from the terrain encircling Rein, setting the whole earth quaking, and even Nirheim's city limits vibrated faintly.
What had been firm soil turned supple like dough in a heartbeat, as the arena's core surged upward fiercely, like some entity burrowing up from the depths below.
