Chapter 3: You Owe Me Your Life
Zheng Chao's injury sent the Zheng family into a furious uproar, like they were about to flip the entire roof off.
“Kill her! Kill this madwoman! Aren't you going to do something? This madwoman you brought up is trying to murder my son!”
“My boy has never been hurt this badly before! Get the doctor here now!”
Mrs. Zheng boiled with rage over how this wonderful occasion had soured. She even yanked Chu Yun over to make her rein in this “insane” daughter of hers.
Panic gripped Chu Yun. Given Lin Yin's condition right now, she wouldn't dare get close, much less scold her.
The Zheng family's shouts grew increasingly intense. Chu Yun stepped up and tried to slap her, yet Lin Yin deflected the blow and shoved her down to the floor.
No one was going to control her anymore.
Su Zhen bellowed, “Lin Yin, that's your mother!”
Lin Yin let out another cold sneer. “Really? My mother died long ago. You people mean nothing to me, and you have no authority to judge me.”
Tears welled up in Su Fei's eyes. “Ah Yin, are you truly going to act this way toward Mom? I'll quit the Su Family and hand over all my possessions to you. Just stop harming Mom and Dad, please!”
“Ah Yin, I'll work hard to earn your pardon. I won't lay a hand on you. Don't be so obstinate, alright...”
Su Fei's tone remained soft and pitiable as ever, yet Lin Yin found it utterly mocking. She wished Su Fei would quit her pathetic deceptions.
Back then, she'd feared their status and bottled up her resentment. But not anymore. Absolutely not.
“Ah Yin, just respond to me, please...”
Su Fei kept up her pitiful act until suddenly Lin Yin yanked her close, exposing a dagger hidden in her sleeve. Short and lightweight, it now rested against Su Fei's throat. Lin Yin murmured coldly, “One more move, and you're dead.”
The abrupt shift left Su Fei paralyzed in terror.
For years, she'd toyed with Lin Yin, laying traps at every turn, always succeeding. Never did she imagine ending up like this.
This version of Lin Yin, fierce and unyielding, no longer seemed like a pushover. She appeared even more commanding and heroic than the underworld boss women under Su Fei's command.
Calm as ice, she radiated an intimidating presence that scared everyone there.
Su Fei realized her life hung by a thread in Lin Yin's grasp—one slip, and it was over. The realization made her gasp in dread.
At the sight, Chu Yun screamed in alarm, “Security! Where's the security?! Hurry and rescue my Feifei!”
Lin Yin pressed harder, the blade slicing skin and drawing blood from Su Fei's neck.
The guards exchanged uneasy glances, unsure whether to charge in or back off.
Su Fei shook violently. “Please... release me. I don't want to die...”
“Did you ever spare me? Did you? You didn't even when I treated you with pure kindness, asking nothing in return!” Lin Yin's words exploded with fury.
She was aware her time was running out anyway. At least she'd drag the true villain down with her and stay true to herself.
Lin Yin swiftly slashed across Su Fei's face multiple times. Chu Yun's heart shattered, nearly causing her to collapse.
She never thought Lin Yin would go this far. What if it scarred forever?
“This slash repays what you did to me. Eight years, and the mark you left on my face still lingers. Now you settle the debt!” Lin Yin felt an unprecedented joy.
One by one, she was paying back every torment!
The onlookers stood dumbfounded by the spectacle. They couldn't fathom what ordeal had transformed this stunning young woman into such a force.
Hatred and pain had sharpened her clarity, not driven her mad.
Lin Yin had never felt more clear-headed. She understood exactly her desires and her wounds.
The icy blade at her throat and the burning agony of the cuts tempted Su Fei to fight back once more.
“Sister, release me. I swear I won't press charges. Dad, Mom, and I will treat you just as we did. We can be a happy family again, right? Sister, free your sister!”
Lin Yin's lips curled in disdain at those words. “Just like before? You mean keep plotting against me?”
“That's not it...”
“Su Fei, listen carefully. You've shortened my life to mere months—the doctor gave me half a year at most... What do you think you owe me?”
