The Captain continued training with Mara and Amber, attempting to lower her mental shields to utilize the VR Capsule, but struggled to sense the described mental barrier. Meanwhile, Ries worked on adapting the VR Capsule to function without Stallium. The Captain also practiced controlling Psionic powers by levitating and moving metal ball bearings, showing significant improvement that impressed Mara and Amber.

A few more days have passed and while Ries seemed like she was making quite a lot of advancements with her side of things, I’m still stuck not being able to find the shield that Amber and Mara were talking about.

And at this point, even Mara is stumped as I was able to juggle over several dozens of metal balls in the air at this point, moving each of them individually like an extension of myself.

I’m pretty sure this was the Super Adaptable or whatever perk at work where I easily adapt to the strain of controlling all these balls with my mind and then improve myself quickly.

At this point we’re not even sure how to proceed anymore since this control also meant I could basically just keep up the tentacles thrusting in and out of my lovers while going about my daily life without much effort either.

Sure I still feel the pleasure but I could cook a proper meal without pause even while I orgasm where before... I would need to pause and ride out the climax first before continuing.

It’s still nice of course. And if I were to use my real shaft instead of the tentacle one, it would be just like always.

But that still didn’t change the fact that I could not find this shield that my two Psionic lovers were telling me about which they assured me should be there but yet was nowhere to be found. Even after I had grown way stronger than what should have been needed to sense the shield.

Amber tapped on her chin as she looked at the dozens of metal balls orbiting around me, "I think... At this point... It might be a matter of time? Like maybe... You need to use your Psionic powers longer to be able to sense it? I dunno..."

Mara hummed, "I do not believe that is the case... But I have no answer for it either..."

I focused my senses into myself again, finding myself within the void once again and looking at where the centre of my power should be.

This time though, there seemed to be a rather intense energy in the air which felt like everything around me was charged with static or something.

I tried to look around for the source for it but it felt like it was coming from everywhere around me instead of being localised at a specific place.

Instead of focusing my search around the centrepoint of the power, I decided to try and venture out a little further just to see if I could find anything out there.

But as I got further, I paused when I spotted some kind of shimmer in the air a distance away from me.

It’s like there is some kind of dome surrounding me and keeping me inside or something.

I got closer towards the dome and paused when I found myself floating in front of what felt like a dome made of glass that covered the entire area around where my power was centralised.

I tried to press my palm against it and it felt solid, its surface pushing back against me and... Pulsing with energy as well?

Hmm... Could it be?

I willed for the barrier to disappear and felt the entire dome shake once before its surface started to melt away, disappearing into nothingness.

Almost instantly, I felt a rather uncomfortable tingle settling around me like I had just stripped off my clothes and presented my naked self out to the world somehow.

God damn it... It was a case of it being bigger than I thought, wasn’t it?

Before I could consider making the dome appear again, two gasps came from the side.

"You... You did it, Tera!!"

"That’s it, Captain! You found it! What did you do?"

I opened my eyes and shuddered, feeling especially vulnerable and needing to force myself not to summon the dome again.

"Well... I found it I guess... But it wasn’t the small sphere you girls were telling me about... It’s an entire huge dome that covers the entire space surrounding me... I had to move quite a distance away in order to find it..."

The two of them shared a look after hearing my words.

"I guess... As expected of Tera?"

"Indeed... It was foolish of us to believe she would function like a normal Psionic... An entire dome... That will explain everything..."

I raised an eyebrow at them, "I’m guessing... This has never happened before?"

Mara shook her head, "Normal Psionic would have a shield around their mind to prevent intrusion and the size is usually limited to something that covers their mind... Not an entire large dome like--"

The door suddenly slid open with Ries rushing in, "Bossssss!! I figured it out!!!"

She jumped into my embrace, cuddling her face into my chest.

I looked down at the cat girl who was purring while rubbing her face against my boobs.

"What did you figure out?" I asked.

Ries let out another purr before she looked up at me, "I figured out how the Exo-Knight managed to bypass your Psionic shields, Boss! No... Not bypass, more like integrated with it! Those two were really geniuses!"

"Oh? What did they do?"

"I thought they were using the enhanced power to pierce through your shields in order to let you control it, but it seems like you have a really big shield Boss! They just need to resonate with your shield and merge with it instead of breaking through it! Then you can control it even with your shield up!"

I have no idea what she just said but I think she also figured out that my Psionic shield was a big dome instead of a small dome like what Amber and Mara were expecting.

Kind of funny how we both arrived at the same conclusion at the same time.

"So... Are you able to make something similar? I... Ummm... Figured out how to lower the shield but it feels like I’m naked when I do it..."

She gasped, "Oh! I can do it, Boss! But umm... Are you sure? I mean... If you can lower your shield..."

I shuddered "I prefer it being up now... It feels really weird when it’s lowered so... Could I trouble you to go ahead with it anyway? Unless it’s something that’s hard to make?"

She beamed at me, "Not at all, Boss! Leave it to me, Boss!! In fact, I can use this tech for my future builds!"

My Maochatte lover immediately ran out of the room again, most likely to do what I asked.

I turned back to look at Amber and Mara, "So... Does it feel odd for you to lower your mental shields? It really felt like I stripped myself naked when I lowered my shields..."

Amber nodded, "It needs some getting used to, for sure. Normally it wouldn’t be that big of a deal because people would need to learn how to create a mental barrier to begin with... But it seems like yours is instinctive so it feels like you stopped doing something natural for yourself."

Mara crossed her arms, "Perhaps the next thing you can learn is to threaten smaller mental shields instead. It certainly seems like you are quite proficient in telekinesis at this point so we might as well move on to mental training."

I raised an eyebrow, "Mental training? So... Does that mean I can start reading minds as well?"

She gave me a wry smile, "You could always have done so, Captain. The question is whether you would turn the person’s head into mush if you tried."

Oh right... I remember that being one of the points... Where a Psionic is too strong or something...

Amber grinned, "If you can control your strength, you might even be able to control people’s minds~"

I raised an eyebrow at her, wondering if she was joking.

Mara cleared her throat, "Ahem... Captain, you might have forgotten but... I do have a family member who is able to mind control other people, albeit with the help of using some implants. It is not an impossibility, especially for you."

Ok... That actually sounds a little frightening... Though I would be more worried about turning people’s heads to mush instead.

The only problem is that I don’t have anyone to practice on and I don’t care what Amber and Mara might say, but I’m definitely not going to practice on them. The only people I would practice on would probably be pirates, insurgents or any other people who might try to harm my girls.

I guess... Maybe the next time we come across some pirates, we should just try to capture them and then put them somewhere so I can practice my Psionic powers on them.

I believe the Drow of Dawn should have space there to store quite a number of them if we manage to capture some. Or we could just capture their entire ship and use it as a prison ship as well.

...

Why do I feel like I’m turning into some evil scientist trying to experiment on some test subjects?
