The protagonist, posing as 'Tera', attends a high-class event disguised as a rich lady. She is approached by an old man but is saved by the timely intervention of a striking Dragonling named Vieretha Iceborne. Vieretha offers her company, which Tera accepts, and the two begin to explore the event together. Their conversation is interrupted by a sudden explosion.

The Dragonling woman beside me inquired, "What is happening?"

To her credit, she showed no sign of panic, and her bodyguards swiftly formed a protective circle around us.

It appeared as though they were accustomed to such situations.

My companions were also close by, moving nearer to me for refuge, and we took this moment to assess our surroundings.

"It seems someone decided to crash the party," I remarked casually.

Following the trail of smoke, I located the origin of the blast: a breach in the wall.

The individuals responsible for this hole, clad in crimson combat armor, were streaming into the exhibition hall, weapons bared.

Despite the different coloring, I recognized the armor's design as being similar to Kaito’s security forces.

I surmised that he either dispatched several of his men, disguised in recolored versions of his company’s armor, or he lent them to hired thugs for this operation.

Placing my hand on Vieretha’s to gently remove it from my arm, I stated, "My apologies, Lady Vier, but this is where we must part ways."

She frowned, questioning, "What do you mean? Are you allied with them?"

I blinked at her response. "Eh? No, no, no. That is not my meaning. I meant that we must now engage in combat."

For a touch of drama, I reached down and 'tore' off the lower portion of my dress, which was merely Renata detaching itself from the skirt.

It would appear strange to continue moving normally in such attire, so I needed to create the illusion of transforming to suit the circumstances.

Then, reaching beneath my dress, I retrieved my cube, allowing it to assemble into my halberd. Giving it a test swing, my companions also drew their own weapons, preparing for battle.

For the other attendees, weapons were prohibited, leaving their own guards largely disarmed and unable to retaliate.

While it might have seemed foolish to disarm everyone, we understood that allowing weapons would have enabled Kaito to infiltrate the event with armed individuals, complicating the situation further.

Now... our objective is to concentrate on a single entry point and repel their advance.

"Ahahahaha! The intelligence was accurate! So many wealthy snobs gathered in one place!! Round them up, boys!!" a large man bellowed from the opening.

The thugs began pouring through the breach and firing into the assembled guests, only to be met with return fire from Yuki’s security forces, who had positioned themselves to intercept.

"Girls! Engage!!" I commanded, signaling them to rush towards the hole in the wall.

Yuki’s security forces were already converging to hold the line as the guests fled in the opposite direction for safety, guided by the staff.

We, however, moved against the tide, joining the defense as bullets whizzed past us.

I heard Vieretha gasp as I charged into the fray, but I disregarded it, focusing entirely on the battle.

I weaved through the panicked crowd, darting between individuals before leaping over them.

Employing a subtle boost from my Psionic abilities, I increased my jump's height to clear the entire crowd, landing behind the advancing group of thugs.

Alarmed shouts erupted from the thugs, but I ignored them, dropping into a low crouch and holding my halberd perpendicular to the ground.

With a powerful rotation, I spun on my heel, swinging my halberd in a wide arc. It sliced through the cluster of thugs before me, severing their heads from their bodies; their armors offered no defense against my weapon.

Trusting my girls to handle the frontal assault, I pushed towards the breach in the wall, aiming to halt the continuous stream of thugs attempting to infiltrate the exhibition hall.

Surprisingly, some of them were not armed with firearms but wielded electrified batons.

I surmised these individuals were here for hostage-taking, but... they would not be passing me.

They charged at me, their batons crackling ominously.

Refusing to let them close the distance with such weapons, I swung my halberd again. This time, I detached the head from the pole, sending it flying towards the group.

Their reaction was non-existent; they could not even respond as the blade sliced through their necks, decapitating them just like their companions.

Several laser bursts were fired at me, prompting my shield to materialize and deflect the attack.

Turning to identify the assailant, I saw him have his head instantly vaporized by a sniper round from Lea. His hastily summoned shield had only a fleeting existence before shattering.

My attention then shifted to my next target: a large individual encased in heavier armor than his fellow attackers.

An electrified warhammer, crackling ominously, was brandished before me.

"Thinks she's hot shit, this rich girl? Come at me, you little bitch!" the individual taunted.

Seriously? Had he not witnessed my earlier display, where I cut down these very men? Nevertheless...

Launching myself from the ground, I closed the distance rapidly, observing as the warhammer was raised, poised to strike me down.

Stopping just shy of its reach, I bounded backward, evading the devastating blow. The warhammer impacted the ground, unleashing a torrent of electrical sparks in my direction.

For a fleeting moment, I registered the spectacle as 'cool' before evading the surge. The electrical wave rolled past, striking one of the thugs behind me, electrocuting him instead.

The warhammer-wielding thug seemed unfazed by his ally's demise and charged, thrusting his electrified weapon toward my chest.

With a pivot, I swung my halberd in a wide arc. The axe head glided past his warhammer, snagging onto its pole.

A twist of my wrist sent both weapons spiraling, forcibly dislodging the warhammer from the burly man's grasp.

Continuing my momentum, I spun again, disengaging the warhammer from my halberd. The weapon flew back toward its owner, the electrified head now aimed directly at him.

He raised his arms to shield himself just as his own warhammer collided with him, emitting a deafening crack. The thug cried out in pain as electricity surged through his body upon impact.

While he reeled from the shock, I seized the opportunity, lunging forward and bringing my halberd down in an overhead cleave, bisecting him cleanly from top to bottom.

As the two halves of the fallen thug hit the ground, I twirled my halberd, slicing through another baton-wielding assailant attempting a stealth attack from behind, severing his torso from his lower body.

A quick glance revealed the defenders were holding their own, steadily repelling the thugs.

Those who attempted to turn and fire upon me found their backs exposed to the defenders, resulting in their swift demise. This forced the remaining thugs to concentrate their assault on the defenders directly in front of them.

Consequently, their backs were completely vulnerable to my attacks, a weakness I exploited without hesitation, felling numerous additional foes with sweeping strikes of my weapon.

As I carved through another cluster of thugs, I mused on Kaito's intentions behind this entire affair.

Surely, he couldn't possibly believe this plan would succeed, could he?

I mean, even without our intervention, Yuki's security seemed more than capable of handling the attackers.

Admittedly, they might sustain some casualties without our direct support, but I suspected this scenario would actually benefit Yuki, allowing her to showcase her ability to protect important guests from such threats.

And should these thugs be investigated, especially if their armor traced back to Kaito's company...

Even with a denial of involvement, the association would cast a negative light upon him.

So, what was his true objective--

Suddenly, the lights flickered out, plunging everything into darkness. Simultaneously, the glass walls enclosing the creatures within their exhibits retracted into the ground.

... Fantastic...
