The protagonist learns about Biotamers and Psionics, discovering he possesses both abilities. Miss Yuki, a wealthy CEO, proposes marriage and then a child-planting arrangement, both of which he rejects. She then reveals a job opportunity: to help control animals at her zoo during a special event, as she suspects a rival, Kaito Matsumoto, plans to sabotage her. The protagonist overhears Matsumoto's conflicting story and uses the information to double Yuki's initial offer for his services.

I managed to get her to agree to a formal Mercenary contract for the job, and then I brought the details back to the girls, informing them about our new assignment and the new information we'd uncovered about Biotamers.

Although her primary need for me was to prevent the animals from causing chaos if her rival attempted sabotage during the viewing, she also harbored concerns that Kaito might employ more traditional tactics, such as hiring thugs to disrupt the exhibition.

While Yuki certainly had her own security detail, she wasn't about to turn down additional assistance.

And considering she was offering me four hundred million Credits to join her side... I saw no issue with that arrangement.

There was also the added benefit of helping her neutralize Kaito, thereby securing the associated security contract. However, given how that man attempted to betray us and his stinginess with his money, I would have assisted her even for a lesser sum.

But naturally, she didn't need to know that.

"So, that guy was trying to screw us from the very beginning..." Lea remarked, her tone more amused than indignant.

"Well... Are you truly surprised? A fool like him, wanting to hoard all the good weapons for himself? He's definitely not a good person!" Ries chimed in.

Yumiko nodded in agreement, adding, "Someone who would betray their own family would undoubtedly betray others as well."

I wasn't sure how to respond to that, so I simply remained silent regarding his character.

Clearing my throat, I stated, "Ahem... In any case... Our first priority is to ensure Yuki's event proceeds without a hitch and to eliminate any obstacles that arise. Our second task is to assist her in dealing with Kaito, ensuring she secures the contract for the station's security."

"Honestly, I'm pretty sure this is going to be an easy job," Amber chuckled.

I narrowed my eyes at her, warning, "Don't jinx it."

"What? Come on. What's the absolute worst that could happen? Maybe he somehow disables the exhibit controls and unleashes all those creatures. Then all you'd have to do is simply command them to stop, and they would, right? Easy peasy~"

"Firstly, I'm not even sure about the extent of my Biotamer abilities... In fact, I still harbor doubts about whether I truly am one."

Lea tilted her head, questioning, "But wouldn't that explain everything you've accomplished so far, Mistress? Why else would you be capable of controlling all those creatures so effectively?"

"I don't know, perhaps it's a perk I acquired and forgot about. At least with the Psionic ability, I could confirm it because I have to actively use the power, but the Biotamer aspect feels more like a coincidence. The animals I've encountered so far have been creatures I already knew to be at least somewhat friendly..."

Except for that snapping turtle. If it was identical to the snapping turtles from my own universe, it certainly wouldn't have allowed me to pet its head. However, since it was the first turtle I'd seen here, it might just be a coincidence rather than a rule.

"Even if that's the case, Mistress, it implies you can control these creatures with considerable ease."

"Like I mentioned, I'm uncertain about the limits. Remember those creatures that attacked Clement's ship? They were undeniably hostile towards me as well... And they certainly weren't sedated like the turtle, so they absolutely intended to kill me. Furthermore, when I observed the creatures Yuki kept in her zoo... She had several alien species I didn't recognize, meaning those creatures could potentially be hostile towards me."

Amber gestured towards me, stating, "Yes, but even if those creatures were hostile, you could simply summon the dogs to subdue them. I doubt there's anything there that could overwhelm them."

Well... I didn't really think it would be that straightforward, but I supposed that was one potential course of action...

"But, I suppose the second part of the mission presents the real challenge..." I mused aloud.

"Hmm? I believe fulfilling the second objective will be quite straightforward, Captain," Mara countered.

I turned to her, asking, "How so? We need to ensure Kaito and his organization cease troubling Yuki, and that she secures the security contract for this Pleasure Station. How do we achieve that?"

She raised a finger, proposing, "We could always opt for the most direct solution, Captain."

I raised an eyebrow in inquiry, "And what exactly is this most direct solution?"

"Well, obviously, we simply go in and eliminate everyone. Can't get much more straightforward than that, can it?"

I stared at her for a good few seconds before managing to articulate a response, "Just... Go in and kill them all?"

"Precisely."

"Isn't that... Illegal? You know... Like murder?"

"Indubitably."

"Then why would you even propose such a thing?"

"It's simple. If we ensure no trace of our involvement remains, then no one will ever know who was responsible."

"You make it sound incredibly easy to erase all evidence of our presence."

Mara offered me a smile and gestured towards Ries. "With your assistance, Captain, she can breach any security system and purge all records of our activities."

Her finger then moved to Amber. "Following that, she can reduce the entire location to ashes, incinerating any physical proof."

The doctor then indicated herself. "I, in turn, can probe the minds of everyone present to ensure there are no witnesses. Should any exist, they will be compelled to forget."

Finally, she pointed to Renata. "And she can meticulously dispose of any residual evidence that cannot be burned. Ultimately, there will be absolutely nothing for anyone to discover."

Indeed... I suppose accomplishing such a feat would be impossible without a crew like ours...

I cleared my throat. "Ahem... Alright... Let's reserve that as a final option... I'm not particularly fond of eliminating a large number of people if it can be avoided... Is there perhaps another approach?"

"Certainly, the alternative approach involves persuading him to relinquish the contract."

"What... You mean like confronting him directly and attempting to negotiate or something similar?"

"Of course not. We simply issue him threats, ensuring his compliance. Alternatively, we can cripple him financially to the extent that he loses his entire company~"

"Once again... You present that as if it were a simple task, Mara..."

She lightly tapped the side of her head. "An individual like him... He is undoubtedly burdened by numerous secrets, Captain. Secrets that would unquestionably lead to his downfall if brought to light. I have been instrumental in many such revelations, Captain."

Ah, yes... I had momentarily forgotten her side hustle as an underground informant when she's not engaged in her work as a Gene Splicer...

Ahhh, never mind... That particular matter can wait until after we've concluded the exhibition, so we can devise a strategy then.

In fact... Considering we are already anticipating some action from that Kaito fellow during the exhibition, additional opportunities to deal with him might even present themselves during the event itself.

For the present moment, however, my attention is drawn to a more pressing matter that I wish to raise with the girls...

"Would you ladies be interested in unwinding at the Pleasure Station once our current task is complete? I mean... Since we find ourselves in this vicinity, why not take advantage of the amenities? We didn't even have the chance to visit that resort planet last time, so why not indulge in a few days of vacation here?"

Amber raised a skeptical eyebrow. "Don't we also have that assignment from the military gentleman? Will we truly have leisure time for such an indulgence?"

"He merely instructed us to report for our assignment; he didn't actually impose a strict deadline for our arrival, did he? Therefore, we can afford to take our time~"

Yumiko enthusiastically concurred. "I believe that's a splendid notion, Mistress~ We've certainly earned a respite here. I wholeheartedly support the idea~"

I found her remarkable eagerness slightly peculiar, but I attributed it to her excitement at the prospect of relaxing at a Pleasure Station, I suppose.

The rest of the group also voiced their agreement, and we collectively decided that upon concluding our engagement with Yuki, we would not depart immediately but would instead spend a minimum of several days on the station, availing ourselves of its facilities for a well-deserved rest.

Excellent... Now I can finally fulfill my true objective here...

Which is to get the girls into their swimsuits~
