Void Evolution System Chapter 1891 Clash of the Titans [20]

Previously on Void Evolution System...
Damien, having been utterly destroyed by the Dark God, teetered on the brink of true death. Although his physical form and soul were gone, his essence persisted, anchored by his Legend. As the Dark God sought to dismantle everything that sustained him, Damien struggled to hold onto his identity and the connections he had established as a Celestial. In a desperate bid for survival, he forged a connection between Existence and Nonexistence, inching closer to a transformative realization. Just as his essence reached its nadir, a spark of light emerged, signaling Damien's impending rebirth as he prepared to embrace his title as the "Child of Infinity."

The minuscule speck of Damien's being began to expand with violent speed. In a fleeting breath, his soul was restored to existence. Though it was a deep, ink-black color, it possessed a tangible density that made it difficult to believe it wasn't a physical form.

This illusion remained until his actual physical body manifested around it. Damien's soul underwent a final reformation into a True Void Soul, reaching its ultimate state. While the body that materialized wasn't instantly perfect, the transformations occurring within it were unmistakable.

The [Child of Infinity] title triggered, carving a path toward the Void for Damien. It functioned as a literal key to the colossal gates that barred all others from the summit of Cultivation. The doors were now wide open. It was an objective reality. Damien could finally perceive the metaphorical staircase ascending toward the rank of Absolute.

Nevertheless, those steps required climbing. The two concepts Damien held didn't spontaneously fuse into a convenient miracle that would allow him to vaporize the Dark God. Instead, the pieces of the puzzle began to slot into place with agonizing slowness.

He no longer had the capacity to interfere with the process consciously. Much like the Worldwalker, he was destined to reach the Void simply by existing. Unfortunately, a witness was present who was determined to prevent that outcome. The manifestation of the incarnation of envy had always been gruesome, but it had now transcended into something even more horrific. The tormented souls writhing across its skin expanded before detonating. The concentrated energy of their collective agony was funneled into the Dark God’s physical vessel, enhancing it further. He utilized his own malice as fuel, harnessing every ounce of hatred and envy in the world to transform into a true apostle of sin. This evolution warped the Existence and Nonexistence within his body into a completely different set of forces. Though the Dark God didn't realize it, to Damien, this was a subconscious admission that his foe had already abandoned the path to becoming Absolute.

Deep within his heart, the Dark God had been broken the moment the truth of the Worldwalker was revealed. Everything following that realization was nothing more than a product of desperation. He didn't truly believe he could transform Damien into the Worldwalker, nor did he think any outcome of his current path would bring him true satisfaction.

He continued to act only because he was desperate to maintain the illusion of meaning in his life by any means necessary.

Even so, that desperate struggle carried as much weight as his previous race for the peak. It was just as significant to him, and thus, it created a situation of equal peril. The incarnation of envy grew in scale and proficiency, as the "Envy" it commanded ascended to an entirely new tier of power.

The Dark God held nothing back. The primary shift was that he had stopped fighting a ghost of the Worldwalker; he was now staring directly at Damien, recognizing him as the genuine threat.

When all the resentment he harbored for the Worldwalker was redirected toward a single new target, that individual was destined to endure unimaginable suffering. The incarnation launched an assault on Damien with renewed savagery. Although Damien intended to play a defensive game until his concepts finished their fusion, he quickly understood that such a luxury was impossible.

In these final moments, an all-out confrontation with the Dark God was mandatory. If he failed to engage, there was a legitimate risk that his ascension would be forcibly halted.

BOOOOOOOM!

The spectacle was truly otherworldly.

Damien soared through the firmament, pursued by tens of millions of reaching arms. His flight path was anything but straight. His movements traced a bizarre, abstract mural of curving light across the sky. While it appeared to be a simple trail of aura, it was actually concentrated energy woven into counterattacks.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Violent detonations rippled through the cluster of limbs, obliterating many of the grasping hands. Damien kept his eyes locked on the front, but that was merely one layer of his awareness. His true perception expanded in every direction, as if he were navigating his own body through a multi-dimensional screen. He could see the birth of countless dimensions and planes surrounding him, all saturated with the Dark God’s tainted energy. He couldn't afford to graze even one; if that corruption managed to reinfect his mind or body, the delicate internal processes of his evolution would be catastrophically disrupted.

This was the catalyst for his frantic, high-speed maneuvers.

He executed precise twists and turns mid-air, shifting his altitude at will. Every slight adjustment in his trajectory allowed him to bypass another hostile dimension, carving his own path through the plane and asserting his status as an existence.

It was a chaotic tapestry of light and color. White, black, red, green, blue, and purple—every shade on any conceivable spectrum—became a conduit for the power unleashed by Damien and the Dark God.

The most basic elements of the universe, often overlooked, became the most vital concepts in existence, as the destiny of two separate cosmos rested upon them.

As celestial bodies collided, sending massive white flashes through the Sacred Abyss, Damien’s concepts finally began to merge into a singular whole.

Existence and Nonexistence finally acknowledged their unity through their contrasts. There was no longer a requirement for them to stay divided, as they would always remain distinct and precious in their own right. They would not be lost within the Void; rather, they were the most essential components of its power. It was impossible to count how many times the Sacred Abyss had already been reduced to nothingness.

The battlefield had become so turbulent that the cosmos itself could no longer sustain the pressure. In truth, the surrounding space had been annihilated hundreds of times over.

However, it was being reconstructed naturally at the exact moment of its destruction, making it appear as though nothing had changed at all.

The absurdity of the battle was staggering. From a certain perspective, the fight could be viewed as nonexistent. One could argue these events never truly occurred; they would only be preserved as legends through the stories of those who saw the aftermath. Yet, for Damien, the battle was merely a backdrop. It had become a secondary concern. To achieve victory, he had to reach his ultimate objective, so why waste his focus on the Dark God?

From the start to the finish, the Void remained the only thing that mattered.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

His advancement was obvious. Initially, his movements became sharper and more calculated, but eventually, they began to slow. As Damien’s physical form grew more resilient, the necessity to evade vanished. At a certain point, he simply stopped. He ceased all movement, permitting the celestial strikes to impact his body directly. The resulting explosions lit up the heavens and shattered the Sacred Abyss, but the carnage was irrelevant to him.

Damien closed his eyes, feeling his body transition into an invulnerable state.

There was no longer any need to pay attention to the combat. He had finally arrived. No matter what atrocities the Dark God attempted, he was now beyond the reach of injury.

Only one final step remained to truly reach the Void.
