Vampire's Slice Of Life Chapter 1193: Won’t It Drag Out The War?

Previously on Vampire's Slice Of Life...
Doomsday enveloped Octavia as the battlefield transformed into a grotesque scene of carnage, with the blood of the fallen converging into a mighty crimson halberd. The Asura Princess claimed this ancient artifact, unleashing her power and determining to end the war with a devastating swing that shattered the vampire ranks. Amidst the chaos, Lith sensed the urgency of the moment and prepared to retreat, saving his companions as the Asura forces rallied with newfound hope. However, danger loomed as a massive beast erupted from their escape gate, complicating their flight and leaving the outcome of the war precariously uncertain.

Beneath the thick canopy of towering trees in a lush, emerald forest, a heavy silence was broken by ragged breathing.

"Haah… haah… haah…"

Sprawled out on the earth with his limbs wide, Zhao Shi gasped for air as if he had just survived a life-or-death struggle.

"I honestly thought my life was over," he wheezed.

His dramatic declaration went ignored by the others.

Aside from Lith, every person present wore an expression of grim determination.

"I never anticipated they would reveal a weapon of that caliber," Roy remarked while tending to his injuries. The Asuras were well-versed in harming vampires; even a Legendary Rank like Roy found it difficult to close the deep gashes left by their cursed artifacts.

"That is what happens when you face the world’s second greatest power," Lucas added, tightening a bandage around his wounded leg.

In stark contrast, Lith, Fei, and Sylvia were perched on a mat, enjoying tea and light refreshments like they were at a casual picnic.

Lith took a slow sip of his tea before asking, "Did you have any prior knowledge of this?"

Lucas shook his head in the negative. "This is its debut. During the previous conflict, they weren't the ones being blindsided by an initial assault."

Lith gave a small nod. Lucas had already briefed him on the specifics of their original downfall.

In his past life, Lith and his mother had led his harem in a combined strike against the Evure God Clan. The operation had been so lopsided it was practically a massacre. Because the ease of the victory bored them, Lith, Lilith, and Lucy decided to prolong the suffering of the Evure God Clan by letting them flee into Shen Ze.

A few desperate souls attempted to make a breakthrough in their Cultivation to ascend, but Lilith had ruthlessly struck them down from the sky.

Realizing that escape was futile, the remnants of the clan chose to drag the Asuras into the abyss with them.

The Asuras were forced to endure the full, desperate might of the Evure God Clan. Octavia never had the chance to mount a proper defense and was overrun in a single day.

With the Asura King absent, the Asura God Clan collapsed shortly thereafter.

However, the timeline had shifted now that Lith was personally directing the flow of events. He intended to dismantle both powers using his own strength rather than relying on his mother. Besides, Lilith was currently away from home, occupied with her own business affairs.

Progress was intentional and slow, as Lith’s strategy focused on bleeding both factions dry while minimizing his own losses.

He manipulated the two sides into mutual slaughter, ensuring neither realized a third party was pulling the strings. This orchestration required the bulk of his focus and energy.

The unintended side effect of this prolonged shadow war was that both clans now had the breathing room to deploy trump cards that had remained hidden in the previous timeline.

It was a nuisance. Today’s moment of vulnerability was a sign that such complications would likely happen again.

Sensing the gravity of the situation, Lucas looked toward Lith. "Your Highness, do you not find this method exhausting? It may prolong the conflict indefinitely."

Under normal circumstances, questioning one's master was a capital offense. However, the customs of the Vampire Royal Family were unique. Queen Lilith encouraged her maidservants to speak their minds, believing that a household full of mindless bootlickers was incredibly dull.

The Royal Servants were elite individuals personally selected by Lilith. Lucas was part of the second generation chosen for Lith. Having been raised in the traditions of a Royal Servant, he did not tremble at the thought of asking Lith such a pointed question.

Lith took a long, silent sip of tea, his gaze lingering on Lucas until the servant grew uneasy.

'Was that teaching actually a trap to test me? Surely servants shouldn't interrogate their masters!' Cold sweat beaded on Lucas’s forehead as he stared at Lith’s unreadable, serious face.

Setting his cup down, Lith pulled out his phone. After a few taps, he passed the device to Sylvia.

"Make sure everyone sees this, Sylvia," he commanded.

Sylvia gave a sharp nod and, though she didn't know what the file contained, followed his instructions immediately.

A massive holographic screen shimmered into existence before the group, instantly filling the air with the desperate wails of civilians.

"I-I’m innocent! Please, don't hurt me!"

"The Baron is hiding right here! Look! I’ve given him up, so let me go!"

The group watched in shock as chaotic footage played out, showing commoner Asuras betraying their own nobility.

On the screen, a man was brutally executed; his expensive silks and refined features marked him clearly as a noble.

For several minutes, more scenes of internal betrayal flashed by.

"Wait, isn't that Viscount Verril? He’s the cousin of General Menikel," Roy noted, watching the man fall at the hands of a mob of commoners.

It appeared that mysterious figures had distributed power-enhancing drugs to the lower classes. This not only allowed the commoners to track down the hidden nobles with ease but gave them the physical strength to overpower and slaughter them.

The nobility was paralyzed by terror, finding no safety in their hiding spots as the commoners engaged in a ruthless blitzkrieg against them.

Lith took another sip of tea. Noticing the cup was nearly empty, he remarked in a level voice, "It should be concluding right about now."

"Conclu—"

"What is concluding, Master?" Zhao Shi cut Fei off, his curiosity getting the better of him. He was desperate to understand why the Asura World was suddenly tearing itself apart from within.

Fei glared at him for the interruption but remained silent. She was just as eager to hear the explanation for these events.

Lith took another drink. Only a couple of sips remained in his cup.

"The Asura Court. It is about to be wiped out," Lith stated plainly.

"What!?!"

"WHAT!?!"

Roy’s shout of disbelief drowned out the combined shock of Zhao Shi and Lucas.

The Asura Court represented the entire foundation of their nobility!

To say it was finished seemed impossible. It was an unthinkable concept.

Octavia remained standing, so how could the entire noble class fall before the capital did?

Lith drained the last of his tea and set the cup aside. Standing up, he clapped his hands together once.

"Ladies and gentlemen…"

A thin smile played on Lith’s lips.

"…the Asura Court has officially ceased to exist."
