Vampire's Slice Of Life Chapter 1192: Asura Trump Card
Previously on Vampire's Slice Of Life...
The world of Octavia was gripped by the descent of doomsday. A macabre landscape unfolded before the eyes of the survivors.
Gore, severed limbs, and the remains of the fallen on the battlefield were swept up into a swirling crimson vortex, drawn toward the peak of a rumbling volcano.
Instead of erupting, the molten lava coalesced into a massive sphere, acting as a shell for something hidden within.
As the final drop of blood from an Asura General was absorbed by the lava sphere, a blinding radiance erupted. A suffocating pressure washed over the land, forcing even those of Legendary Rank to their knees.
Lith’s group was not spared from this phenomenon.
Fei and Sylvia were forced into a kneeling position, their brows furrowed in a struggle against the weight, while Lith remained seated comfortably in his chair, completely unaffected by the aura.
"So, here is the new piece..." Lith remarked.
What appeared before him was not a living being, but a weapon. It was a halberd—a magnificent curved blade attached to a vibrant crimson shaft, radiating a truly monstrous pressure.
"The ancient artifact!" several Asuras cried out from their positions on the ground.
"It actually exists!"
"To think I would witness it in this lifetime!"
Tears of joy streamed down the faces of the Asuras as cheers echoed across the battlefield. It was as if they had reclaimed the advantage in an instant.
"This is bad!" Roy’s voice crackled through the battlefield projection.
Roy beat his wings in a desperate attempt to reach the halberd, but he was paralyzed. He could only watch with a sense of hopelessness as a lone silhouette soared toward the weapon.
Excluding those carrying the Asura bloodline, everyone present felt a crushing suppression. They were rendered immobile, like helpless fish on a chopping block.
Lith observed the figure as well, noting upon closer look that it belonged to a young girl.
She reached out and took hold of the halberd, claiming it as her own.
Lith’s expression darkened. He recognized her; they had once struck a bargain. The arrogant look in her eyes was a memory he hadn't forgotten.
'This girl is...'
Her true identity remained a mystery to Lith. It was quite a puzzle; had she been a commoner or a noble, he would have uncovered her background long ago. Since he hadn't, there was only one logical conclusion.
"The Asura Princess?" Roy’s voice drifted over.
Even Roy sounded uncertain, as the princess’s identity was a closely guarded secret. He was merely making an educated guess.
As Lith watched, the young girl and the halberd seemed to merge. Her hair transformed into a deep red, and her aura surged violently while her majestic black robes snapped in the wind.
"This war..." the girl’s voice resonated throughout all of Octavia.
"...concludes now."
With a single sweep of her halberd, the Asura Princess cleaved the vampire soldiers in two. Their regenerative powers failed them, and they perished instantly as their very souls were shattered.
The momentum had shifted. The Asuras had succeeded in their desperate gambit for survival.
The Asura trump card had finally been played!
"Master, my strength is fading. We must retreat while there is still time." Fei forced herself to move, regaining her seat and gesturing toward the chessboard.
Once the Asura Princess claimed the artifact, the initial pressure eased slightly, though those lacking Asura blood remained heavily suppressed.
Lith felt no such burden, but seeing the state of Fei and Sylvia, he realized that staying would lead to disaster.
Massaging his temples, Lith surveyed the carnage. "I intended to hold this back, but circumstances leave me no choice."
He pulled out his phone and fired off a message to Wang Wei, who was waiting for orders.
With that done, Lith casually hoisted Fei and Sylvia onto his shoulders like sacks of grain.
"Wait, Master?" Fei asked, bewildered. This was certainly not part of the original strategy.
"Master?" Even the typically silent Sylvia spoke up, stunned by the sudden turn of events.
Ignoring their confusion, Lith activated a talisman, tearing a rift in space that led to safety.
"Wait for me there. I’ll join you shortly." He shoved them through the portal and vanished, reappearing instantly beside a trembling teenager and a clueless black-haired man.
Upon seeing Lith arrive, Zhao Shi’s face brightened. "Master! I knew you’d come for me!"
Lucas, who was sprawled out like a starfish next to Zhao Shi, felt a wave of gratitude. He hadn't truly expected Lith to personally rescue them, thinking he might just send a subordinate. Seeing him in person was a welcome shock.
'Lith is a fine master,' Lucas thought to himself.
Lith didn't waste time on pleasantries. He tore another talisman to open a gate, grabbed Lucas like a piece of luggage, and tossed him through.
He then snatched up Zhao Shi in the same fashion and teleported away.
In the distance, the Asura Princess was in a state of berserk rage, slaughtering every vampire soldier in her path.
Roy watched the devastation with a look of total defeat, standing beside the Sixth Pillar. It appeared his journey would end on this battlefield.
Roy was forced to his knees as the Asura generals circled him like a condemned man.
Only a few moments had passed since the Princess began her rampage. The generals wanted to relish the victory and kill Roy slowly. For the time being, he was still alive.
As Roy’s life flashed before his eyes, the space around him distorted. A tall, silver-haired man appeared, clutching a confused teenager.
The Asura Princess immediately sensed the disturbance in the area.
However, the moment her eyes met Lith’s, her hands began to shake and a trickle of blood escaped her lips.
"Tch." The Asura Princess spat, wiping the blood away.
Wielding such a powerful artifact demanded a heavy price, and the strain was beginning to show. She needed to finish this quickly.
Lith remained composed under the collective gaze of the enemy. He grabbed Roy and prepared another talisman.
"They’re trying to flee!" a general roared, lunging toward Lith.
The air rippled as the gate began to form.
Suddenly, an oppressive new pressure filled the air. Lith frowned and instinctively leaped to the side.
"Roaaarrrrrr!" Massive, razor-sharp claws tore through the portal as a ten-meter-tall beast bounded out, possessing an aura equal to that of an Asura general.
The talisman was supposed to be a simple escape route to a secure location. But with Zhao Shi in Lith’s grasp, nothing was ever simple.
Aside from Lith, Zhao Shi’s misfortune curse affected everyone nearby, including himself. He was a double-edged sword that required extreme caution.
The beast lunged at the general. Seizing the distraction, Lith dove into the gateway and disappeared, leaving behind a group of furious, cursing enemies.
On that day, the Asuras successfully held Octavia. Yet, the conflict was far from over.
