Su Mengyan exchanged a glance with Su Mengyun, and a knowing glimmer passed between the sisters.
"Bro, what took you so long? Everyone’s waiting for you."
Outside, Wang Xiner saw Wang Yue step down from the aircraft and spoke while giving him a meaningful look.
Wang Yue understood immediately.
"Sorry I’m late. Jiaojiao, go tell everyone the banquet can start whenever they’re ready."
Su Jiaojiao agreed and turned to inform the maids standing by. Wang Xiner went back to the hall with Wang Yue.
"Yue’er, did you find them?"
Su Mengyan asked as soon as her son came in.
Although she and her second sister had been separated since she was six, her twin sister was still one of the most important people in her life.
Naturally, she was very concerned.
Wang Yue shook his head.
"No. Who knows where those people have gone? If they don’t show themselves, it’ll probably be very difficult to find them."
"Don’t worry. It’s been thirty years already; a few more days won’t make any difference," Su Mengyun said comfortingly.
"That’s true, but it still bothers me that I can’t get it done," Wang Yue said with a wry smile.
"Looks like I’ll have to find a way to draw them out."
"Have you thought of anything?"
Su Mengqing asked. She had been only three when Su Mengchen left and could barely remember her second sister, but that didn’t mean she didn’t care about her.
She also had a secret wish: she really wanted to see what it would be like for her identical-looking second and third sisters to be fucked by Wang Yue at the same time.
It would surely be an incredibly exciting sight!
"I’ve thought of something."
Wang Yue didn’t keep them in suspense. He explained his plan, wanting his aunts to help him figure out whether it would work.
After all, they had far more life experience than he did.
After a pause, he continued, "The Zhang family in Tianhai is already under my secret control. I’ll have them make a big show of things and send some experts to Jinling. I expect the people working for Second Aunt will come out to intercept them."
"But wouldn’t that risk our own people fighting each other?"
Su Mengyun immediately spotted the flaw.
"The people from the Xuannü Palace might not give the Zhang family a chance to explain once they show up."
"That’s why, once the commotion has been stirred up, I’ll quietly head to Tianhai and travel back with the Zhang family," Wang Yue said with a smile.
"Surely those people will recognize the person they’re supposed to be protecting."
"In that case, it should work."
Su Mengyun nodded, agreeing with Wang Yue’s plan.
It did involve deceiving the people protecting them and repaying their kindness with betrayal, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
If they wanted to find the Xuannü Palace as soon as possible, they couldn’t afford to worry about that.
They discussed the details for a while. Then Su Jiaojiao returned, followed by maids carrying all kinds of delicious food and drinks.
Once the banquet was laid out and the maids had been dismissed, Chen Lingwei stood and raised her glass.
"Come on, let’s finish this glass and welcome Nuanyue and Cancan home! From today on, you’re part of the Su family too."
Everyone stood and raised their glasses, including Wang Yue, Wang Xiner, and Su Jiaojiao, who were still technically underage. They all drained their drinks.
"Thank you, thank you, Aunt Chen. Thank you, everyone," Su Nuanyue said, deeply moved.
She had already known how the Su family felt about her, but now that they had formally accepted her, she was still overwhelmed.
"We’re family. You don’t need to thank us," Su Mengyun said with a smile.
"But, Nuanyue, there’s one thing you got wrong."
"What is it?" Su Nuanyue asked quickly.
Su Mengyun said, "Now that you’ve come home, isn’t it a little strange to keep calling her Aunt Chen? I hope you’ll call Mom ’Mom,’ just like the rest of us."
Su Nuanyue paused. Seeing the hopeful, encouraging look on Chen Lingwei’s face, her heart warmed. "Mom," she said.
"Grandma," Yang Cancan added.
"Aw!" Chen Lingwei joyfully spread her arms and drew the mother and daughter into an embrace, repeating, "Good, good, good! You’re my sweet daughter and granddaughter!"
Su Nuanyue hadn’t lost her mother in childhood, but her mother had died when she was in her teens. Facing Chen Lingwei’s kindness now, it was as if she were seeing her own mother brought back to life.
For Yang Cancan, it was even more so. Neither of her parents had any elders left when they got married, so she had never known the affection of grandparents. Now that she suddenly had a grandmother, even her tomboyish nature couldn’t keep her from being touched in the softest part of her heart. For a moment, she became quite sentimental.
Su Mengyun and the others were sincerely happy too.
Since the family’s troubles began, only seven women had remained in the entire Su family, apart from Su Mengyan, who had married into the Wang family.
And Su Mengqing was often away, so they had dearly hoped for a bigger, livelier family.
Now, with Su Nuanyue and her daughter joining them, that dream had come a little closer.
Everyone was in such high spirits that no one held back. They kept filling their glasses and drinking them dry.
Before long, the sky had barely turned dark, and everyone was already quite tipsy.
Only they knew how many were genuinely drunk and how many were pretending.
Chen Lingwei gazed at the younger women with hazy eyes and sighed softly. "If Chen’er were here too, how wonderful that would be."
"Mom, don’t worry. With Yue’er here, I’m sure we’ll find Second Sister soon," Su Mengyun said reassuringly.
"Maybe we’ll have a real family reunion dinner this Lunar New Year."
Chen Lingwei nodded, gazing at her grandson with a look of deep affection. This boy truly was heaven’s gift to her—or, rather, to all the women of the Su family!
"People say circumstances are the best teacher, and it’s absolutely true," Su Mengqing remarked suddenly.
"Yue’er is only sixteen, and he’s already the pillar of the family.
When we were sixteen, all we thought about was training and having fun.
Who would’ve imagined we’d have so much to worry about?"
"Exactly. It seems like only yesterday they were babbling their first words, and now, in the blink of an eye, they’ve grown up," Chen Lingwei added.
