Urban Seduction: Housewives Club Chapter 1953 - 282: The Mistress of Xuan Nü Palace 3

Previously on Urban Seduction: Housewives Club...
The Mistress of Xuan Nü Palace monitors the three major families in Jinling through hidden surveillance, longing for a future reunion with her loved ones once she breaks through a cultivation barrier. Meanwhile, Wang Yue and the Su sisters discover that Chu Mo has been missing from her gym for days. Upon arriving at the Chu residence, they learn from her mother, Xu Yanran, that Chu Mo has been locked in her room by her father to force a marriage with Zhang Qingtian. While Xu Yanran quietly approves of Wang Yue’s concern for her daughter, the group heads upstairs to reach Chu Mo through her reinforced door.

Breaking the lock was child's play for Wang Yue. By merely exhaling a sliver of his vital Qi, the mechanism shattered, and the door swung wide instantly.

"Mo Mo, are you alright? We’ve come to get you out!" Su Xiu Er called out to the figure inside the moment the entrance cleared.

Chu Mo emerged quickly before the trio. Her eyes landed on Wang Yue, and a smile touched her lips. "You finally showed up," she said.

"Wait, Mo Mo, why do you look so fine?" Su Xiu Er asked, her voice laced with bewilderment. She had imagined Chu Mo would be haggard and on the brink of a breakdown after being confined for three days.

Instead, aside from a minor paleness in her skin, Chu Mo appeared perfectly normal.

Chu Mo let out a soft laugh. "I stayed calm because I was certain Wang Yue would rescue me. Even if he couldn't force his way into the Chu residence, I knew he would surely storm the Zhang family on my wedding day to take me away."

A flicker of longing flashed in her eyes as she spoke.

It was clear she had been influenced by those classic idol dramas; she genuinely found the idea of a hero crashing a wedding to snatch the heroine from another man to be the height of romance.

Wang Yue couldn't suppress a chuckle. "It sounds like we arrived ahead of schedule, then."

Chu Mo shook her head. "No, leaving now is better. At least I don't have to stay trapped in this room every single day."

Su Jiao Jiao chimed in curiously, "Sister Chu Mo, what would you have done if my cousin never showed up, even on the day of the wedding?"

"I would have waited until the final second," Chu Mo replied with chilling composure. "If he didn't appear, it would only mean I was wrong about him. In 그 case, I would have handed the Zhang family nothing but a corpse."

Horrified, Su Xiu Er cried out, "Mo Mo, don't talk like that! Don't do something so reckless!"

Wang Yue, however, laughed it off. "Don't worry, Sis. She isn't that foolish. I'm sure she had a contingency plan ready."

"Xiu Er, we've been like sisters for years, yet you don't understand me half as well as Wang Yue does," Chu Mo laughed along. Then, her expression turned grave as she added, "Still, if you ever truly betrayed me, I can't promise I wouldn't do something desperate."

Taking Chu Mo’s hand in his, Wang Yue spoke with absolute sincerity. "Have no fear. While I might not be able to give you my exclusive devotion, I will never turn my back on you as long as I live."

"Mm," Chu Mo whispered, a shy, radiant blush coloring her cheeks as she nodded.

"Wow! That's so romantic! Kiss her!" Su Jiao Jiao squealed, her eyes sparkling with delight. Before she could say more, Su Xiu Er dragged her toward the stairs, leaving Wang Yue and Chu Mo alone on the second floor.

Despite having gone on several dates and harboring a mutual desire to deepen their bond, the pair had never progressed beyond holding hands.

But today, Chu Mo found a sudden surge of courage. She leaned in and kissed Wang Yue right there at her bedroom door.

Wang Yue had desired to taste those alluring lips for a long time. However, he had been maintaining the persona of an innocent Young Master in front of her and her cousins, so he had never dared to initiate such a move.

Now that she was offering, he didn't pull back. They fell into a deep embrace.

He had to restrain his actual kissing techniques, though; showing too much skill would shatter the pure image he had cultivated.

As for Chu Mo, she was a complete novice. They spent nearly a minute simply pressing and sucking at each other's lips, their tongues never even making contact.

Even so, the sensation was enough to overwhelm her. Her breath turned shallow, her heart hammered against her ribs, and her limbs grew so heavy and warm that she could barely remain standing.

Suddenly, Su Xiu Er’s voice rang out loudly from downstairs: "Uncle Chu!"

Recognizing the warning that Chu Kuo had returned, the two reluctantly broke their kiss and headed down together.

In the parlor, Chu Kuo was mid-conversation with the Su sisters. His eyes widened in shock when he saw Chu Mo descending the stairs alongside Wang Yue. "How did you get out?" he demanded.

"I just broke the lock. It wasn't difficult," Chu Mo answered casually, as if it were of no importance.

Chu Kuo’s brow furrowed. Aside from himself, who in this household possessed the strength to force that lock? Were there hidden experts from the three great families lurking nearby?

If so, the situation was becoming precarious.

While he leaned toward supporting the Zhang family, he doubted the three major families of Jinling would fall so easily. He had hoped to avoid offending any side until a clear victor emerged.

He had initially dismissed the entanglement between Chu Mo and Wang Yue as a simple youthful fling. But if the major families were deploying experts beyond the "Di Que Jing" realm to back Wang Yue, the stakes had changed.

It implied the three families were using his daughter’s relationship to back him into a corner and force his hand.

Chu Kuo wasn't a man of massive ambition; he merely sought a stable future for his clan in Jinling, which seemed possible as long as they remained neutral.

His attempt to secure a marriage alliance with the Zhang family had backfired, leaving him in this mess.

Still, he wasn't a coward. Since he was being forced to choose, he decided to face it head-on. "Wang Yue, can we have a private word in the study?"

"Certainly, Uncle Chu," Wang Yue replied, giving Chu Mo a reassuring glance.

They moved to the study, a quiet room used mostly for appearances since Chu Kuo didn't reside here full-time. It was the perfect spot for a serious talk.

"Have a seat," Chu Kuo said. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and offered one, but when Wang Yue declined, Chu Kuo lit one for himself. After a deep pull, he asked, "Are you aware that Mo Mo is betrothed to the Zhang family?"

"I am aware," Wang Yue confirmed with a nod.

"And if I recall correctly, you are engaged to Chen Xi of the Chen family, aren't you?" Chu Kuo added pointedly.

"That is correct," Wang Yue replied, unphased.

Chu Kuo had hoped that highlighting their conflicting engagements would shame the young man and give him the psychological edge. To his frustration, Wang Yue remained completely composed.

"If both of you are already promised to others, why persist with this 'unofficial' affair?" Chu Kuo asked, finally bringing his daughter into the argument. "Is this not being reckless and irresponsible toward your families?"

"You make a fair point, Uncle Chu. However, you were once young as well," Wang Yue said, putting on a slightly remorseful expression. "You must know that once the heart is involved, logic often loses its grip."
