Urban Seduction: Housewives Club Chapter 1952 - 281: The Mistress of Xuan Nü Palace 2

Wang Yue experiences a moment of intense emotional turbulence after Su Jiaojiao questions whether his long-lost Second Aunt is being mistreated by the powerful Yang family. Realizing his current strength is not yet enough to challenge such a formidable clan, he struggles to maintain his composure while driving. Meanwhile, in a distant frozen palace, a powerful and icy woman who strikingly resembles Wang Yue’s mother monitors the situation from afar. She learns of an impending threat to the families in Jinling from the Zhang family but decides to hold her hand, viewing the conflict as a necessary trial for her nephew.

The lady dressed in white gazed at the woman in blue with a hint of bewilderment, secretly pondering: Why would the Palace Master take such an interest in the mundane technologies of the mortal world?

Despite her curiosity, she didn't dare voice her questions, held back by her deep reverence for the Palace Master’s supreme authority.

She bowed and departed after seeing that the Palace Master had no further commands for her.

Once the white-clad woman had left, a shadow of regret returned to the face of the woman in blue.

It was a source of frustration for her that current technological limitations required manual installation of software for remote surveillance to function.

Her operatives were unable to get close enough to the core members of Jinling’s three great families to infiltrate their personal communication devices. Consequently, she was forced to settle for planting bugs in their vehicles and other locations, which only provided intermittent glimpses into their lives.

In truth, had she desired it, she could have commanded her disciples in Jinling to plant listening devices directly inside the private residences and bedrooms of the three families.

However, she merely wished to observe the lives of her kin without violating their personal privacy, so she refrained from such extremes.

She believed that once the remote control system reached completion, she could monitor their every movement in real-time, which would feel as though she were living right alongside them.

“Mother, Yan’er, please wait just a bit longer. In less than a decade, I will finally shatter that barrier. At that time, no power will be able to keep us apart,” the woman in blue whispered to herself. She then shut her eyes and entered a state of meditation, drawing upon the pristine cold Qi of the Xuanbing Throne.

Meanwhile, Wang Yue and his three companions had planned to catch Chu Mo off guard with a surprise visit. However, upon reaching the gym, they were informed that she hadn't been seen for three days. This was highly alarming, considering the immense dedication she usually showed toward the facility.

Su Xiu immediately pulled out her device to call Chu Mo, but the call failed to connect.

“Could something have happened to Mo Mo?” Su Jin asked, her voice trembling as she gripped Wang Yue’s arm. “What is our next move?”

“We are going straight to the Chu family estate,” Wang Yue declared without hesitation.

At this moment, his bond with Chu Mo was in a delicate state.

Under normal circumstances, visiting the Chu family as a mere friend would be simple. But because their relationship remained unofficial and his status as a potential son-in-law was complicated, such a visit might be viewed as improper.

But with Chu Mo missing, Wang Yue threw caution to the wind. He immediately drove the three women toward the Chu family’s territory.

The Chu residence was situated near the heart of the city, nestled within a gated villa community that signaled its private status.

Thanks to their long-standing friendship with Chu Mo, the Su sisters were familiar faces and passed through the gates without being challenged.

Guided by the twins, Wang Yue drove directly to the specific villa where Chu Mo resided. The four of them stepped out and pressed the doorbell.

“Jin’er, Xiu’er, you’re here!” Xu Yanran exclaimed, looking visibly relieved as she opened the door to find the Su sisters standing there.

“Auntie Xu, please meet our cousins, Wang Yue and Su Jiaojiao,” Su Xiu introduced them quickly. “Xiao Yue, Jiaojiao, this is Mo Mo’s mother, Auntie Xu Yanran.”

“Greetings, Auntie,” Wang Yue and Su Jiaojiao said in unison, offering a respectful warrior’s salute.

“Hello to you both, please come in and make yourselves comfortable.” Xu Yanran welcomed them inside, her gaze lingering curiously on Wang Yue.

Lately, her daughter Chu Mo had spoken of this Young Master from the Wang family incessantly, showering him with praise.

She was naturally intrigued by the young man who was more than five years her daughter's junior.

Her first impression of Wang Yue was excellent; he appeared sincere and well-mannered, lacking the arrogant air often found in the scions of wealthy clans.

This was truly a rarity. In the current landscape of Jinling, the three major families held absolute power, and Wang Yue stood as the sole male heir among them.

Being the only son in such a vast empire usually led to extreme entitlement, yet he remained grounded and free of vices, proving his solid character.

As the old saying goes, a mother-in-law finds her son-in-law more charming the more she looks at him. Wang Yue’s handsome features combined with his kind heart left Xu Yanran feeling very satisfied.

“Auntie Xu, where is Mo Mo?” Su Jin asked the moment they were seated in the parlor.

Xu Yanran’s face clouded over as she gestured toward the upper floor. “She is confined to her room. Her father locked her away and confiscated her phone. He declared she won't be released until she agrees to wed Zhang Qingtian.”

“How could Uncle Chu be so heartless!” Su Xiu cried out in frustration. “What century is he living in? To lock up his own daughter like a prisoner!”

Feeling a bit flustered, Xu Yanran quickly added, “I’ll call her father right away. If I tell him you all are here, he might listen and let her out.”

“There’s no need for that, Auntie. Uncle Chu will likely arrive on his own soon,” Wang Yue interjected calmly. “Sisters, let’s head upstairs and check on her first.”

Even though they hadn't been blocked at the entrance, the Chu family staff would certainly alert Chu Kuo of their presence, and he would likely rush back to handle the situation.

“Going up won't do much good. The door and windows of her room have been reinforced with high-grade materials. It’s impossible to enter without the key,” Xu Yanran sighed. Secretly, however, she felt a sense of comfort; Wang Yue’s obvious concern for her daughter proved his feelings were genuine.

She felt that if Chu Mo were to be with him—even without a formal marriage—it would be a far better fate than being tied to the Zhang family.

In truth, if Zhang Qingtian weren't such a degenerate, Xu Yanran might have preferred him for the sake of social standing. No mother wants her daughter to live in the shadows as a mistress.

But reality was harsh. Zhang Qingtian was a lost cause, making Wang Yue the vastly superior choice.

As for Wang Yue pursuing her daughter while already having a fiancée, Xu Yanran had some initial doubts, but she wasn't overly bothered. Having lived through this era, she had grown accustomed to the complicated romantic lives of the powerful.

“That’s alright. Even if the door is locked, we can still talk to her through it,” Wang Yue said with a reassuring smile before standing up.

Su Xiu immediately led the way toward the staircase, knowing the layout well.

Not wanting to miss out on the action, Su Jiaojiao hurried after them, leaving Su Jin to keep Xu Yanran company in the living room.
