Unlimited Power - The Arcane Path 753 Chapter 749

"I shouldn't have given so many orders to my replica," Leon muttered, annoyance coloring his tone as he watched a planet consumed by the monster's attack, its mana surging even further. "Crafting a perfect technique, one without flaws and usable by anyone, is no simple feat, but..."
In an indirect display, the architect of the assimilation system revealed another facet of its power: the capacity to annihilate matter and transmute it into mana. This was precisely what had transpired. Though the entity hadn't conjured a true sun, the force behind its thin facade was immense. Merely by contact, it possessed the ability to disintegrate and even shatter planets. Yet, this did not occur. Instead, all celestial bodies touched by the false sun were absorbed, fueling the creature's growth. Planets devoid of mana were not exempt; they too were assimilated, augmenting the monster's strength.
"Master," Sylas said, approaching Tyrselle. "At this rate..."
"You needn't state the obvious, Sylas," Tyrselle replied, her lips pressed into a thin line.
While Leon sensed the monster's urgent desire for their annihilation, it was peculiar that such an attack only served to bolster its might. Despite this troubling development, Leon's concern shifted from the creature's rapidly escalating power to the underlying reasons for its actions.
Leon began to contemplate accelerating the process within his mindscape, rather than relying solely on Ilyana's replica. Though her mastery over time manipulation far surpassed his own, even a marginal increase in speed would be beneficial. It mattered little if the replicas completed their task a mere second sooner. After all, the monster was already devouring planets and amplifying its mana; generating additional mana to aid them would not significantly alter the ultimate outcome.
Concurrently with Leon's decision, he felt the ambient mana intensify behind him. Without even turning, Leon discerned that the expansion speed had nearly tripled. Judging by the circumstances, the system's creator had indeed managed to absorb a substantial number of planets during the sixth stage of assimilation. This outcome, while unexpected by Leon, was an almost inevitable consequence given the proximity of stars and planets to a false black hole brimming with an astonishing quantity of mana.
"Hey... this is bad," Hector grumbled. "We can't just increase our speed without boosting our mana."
"Then generate and utilize all the mana you possibly can," Leon commanded. "We are facing the final gambit of our ultimate adversary. It is time to unleash everything and disregard minor concerns."
Even though Leon's allies comprised the most formidable warriors across the universe, they lacked the capacity to generate mana equivalent to that of a planet. Consequently, it was inconsequential whether the mana they expended bolstered the system's creator. Their sole priority at that critical juncture was survival until Leon could retrieve his new technique from the replicas. Upon receiving the directive, all warriors accelerated their efforts. However, even at their maximum velocity, their endurance was limited. Perhaps employing memory energy would present the optimal alternative for escape, but this was a skill beyond their current level of mastery.
Leon's perception of time began to warp as he and the others propelled themselves through the void of space. Yet, after what felt like several hours, the expanding sun's velocity increased once more. The system creator's ability had already ravaged dozens of galaxies, and the mana now under its command was incomparable to its previous state. Furthermore, Leon confirmed that with this immense mana, the monster possessed the genuine capability to obliterate the entire universe.
"I suppose that creature didn't intend for this to happen from the outset," Leon mused. "It likely refrained from absorbing all matter in this universe because it anticipated an easier conquest in other universes. This monster has finally acknowledged us as worthy adversaries and may encounter similar challenges elsewhere."
"All that speculation is interesting, but we have more immediate concerns than pondering the creature's thoughts about us," Ilyana interjected. "Just what exactly did you have our replicas create? It must have been over a century in your mindscape."
"I can attest that five centuries have elapsed," Leon admitted with a forced smile. "As usual... I got carried away."
Leon's allies widened their eyes in astonishment. The notion of a technique requiring five hundred years of development was staggering. Nevertheless, given that the replicas themselves had not abandoned the ritual, hope remained that some progress had been made. Attaining Leon's objective was theoretically possible; it was merely a matter of time. Unfortunately, time was a luxury they did not possess.
With a sudden surge, the sun's expansion intensified manifold. Leon and his companions found themselves on the precipice of being consumed by the inferno of the colossal assault. Yet, a crucial observation dawned upon Leon. It wasn't solely him; Ilyana and Tyrselle also perceived that the expansion's power had significantly diminished the attack's might. Consequently, their allies could withstand it.
"Brace yourselves!" Leon projected via Telepathy. "Channel the memory energy for protection! This onslaught poses no true threat to us!"
Leon's allies initially deemed his command sheer madness, but with no alternative available, they channeled the memory energy to shield their bodies. Though the respite was fleeting, the surface of the ersatz sun inflicted damage, causing some to even lose limbs. Miraculously, no fatalities occurred, and as they soon began to mend, they realized they had returned to the void of absolute darkness.
