Leon is in a plane crash caused by a dragon. He is thrown from the plane and experiences a freefall. In his desperate state, a game-like interface appears before him, granting him new skills as he reacts to the terrifying situation. Despite his efforts, he crashes into the ocean.

A searing agony throughout his limbs jolted Leon awake from his stupor. His mind felt like a thick fog, but at least the world had ceased its dizzying spin. He attempted to shift his body, only to be met with a bone-jarring torment that radiated from head to toe.

"AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!"

His desperate scream brought no solace, only intensifying the pain. Yet, paradoxically, this suffering offered a strange sense of relief—tangible proof that he was still alive. Though consciousness had fled him, the events preceding his collapse remained etched in his memory.

That peculiar voice echoing within his mind replayed every moment before he lost consciousness with startling clarity. For a fleeting second, he desperately clung to the hope that the nightmarish reality was not true, but the pervasive pain serving as a constant reminder denied him that comfort. Something catastrophic had occurred, and a monstrous entity had emerged, obliterating the aircraft with a solitary blow.

As these memories flooded back, Leon's vision gradually sharpened, revealing a surroundings of white and green hues. The rhythmic sound of the ocean reached his ears from behind, and he could feel the dampness of his clothes. He tried to turn his head, but a sharp pain shot through his shoulders, indicating dislocated joints. Even his collarbones felt fractured. He was utterly helpless, like a broken marionette.

"Shit... damn it... why did this happen?"

Leon found himself incapable of moving anything but his eyes without succumbing to agonizing pain. Fortunately, this limited mobility was enough to discern that the tide had washed him ashore on an island. He understood the plane had crashed into the vast Pacific Ocean, making an island landing plausible. However, he also knew the tide would soon reclaim him if he remained immobile.

"Ah... maybe I can use that."

Leon recalled his final moments before losing consciousness. He had augmented his health using those status points, a decision that ultimately saved his life. Perhaps, by increasing his health once more, the pain would subside, allowing him to regain movement.

Leon shuddered, observing his depleted health; it seemed he had truly been on death's doorstep, narrowly surviving the fall. Nevertheless, he possessed five available points, which he decided to allocate to health, thereby increasing both his maximum and current health. The intensity of the pain lessened, and Leon finally managed to stir his body. While discomfort lingered, it was now manageable. Yet, his arms and legs remained unresponsive, a fact Leon found deeply unsettling. He tried again, but his limbs offered no cooperation. The persistent pain, however, was a clear sign that they were merely broken, not severed.

With another status point acquired, Leon began contemplating methods to extricate himself from his dire situation. The solution, he realized, lay within the status screen. The moment he focused his thoughts, a semi-translucent, bluish interface materialized before him. While Leon was familiar with game mechanics like regeneration, he found no such option. 'Recovery' appeared to be the closest equivalent. The uncertainty lay in the effectiveness of a single point invested in recovery. There was only one way to find out, and so Leon directed that meager point into recovery. Fortunately, the system responded to his mental commands, negating the need for physical input. However, Leon perceived no immediate difference.

"Ugh... I guess I will have to wait for a little while."

Leon could only hope that this minor adjustment would yield noticeable results soon. It seemed certain actions could grant him additional status points, but his current state offered limited opportunities for such actions.

"Let's see... is there a skill list?"

As the thought crossed his mind, another screen manifested. It appeared rather compact and straightforward, yet he distinctly recalled receiving notifications about 'learning' these skills.

Skill List

Active Skills:

Passive Skills: Fear Resistance Lv 6, Mental Fortitude Lv 1, Perception Lv 1, Pain Resistance Lv 7, Rage Lv1,

"I truly wish to avoid moving and experiencing pain again, and I can't exactly force myself to feel fear. How am I supposed to level up something like Mental Fortitude? I suppose there's nothing to perceive in this desolate place... my only remaining option is Rage."

Despite his intentions, Leon found himself more bewildered than enraged. He attempted to muster anger, but it simply wouldn't come. As Leon pondered methods to acquire free status points, a sudden easing of pain and weariness washed over him. Although still immobilized, he observed his health had increased by two points. The recovery status was indeed functioning. Ten minutes passed, and the phenomenon recurred, this time allowing Leon to better withstand the discomfort.

Leon attempted to move his arms and succeeded, only to notice they were bent at an unnatural angle. Without needing to examine his legs, he knew they were in a similar state.

"This is dire... truly dire..."

His body seemed to be recovering from the damage every ten minutes, yet it wasn't a complete repair. It was merely healing. At this rate, a catastrophic outcome was inevitable if his body regenerated while his limbs remained improperly positioned.
