Unexpected Encounter: They Were Meant To Be Together Chapter 1 You make me sick
Reflecting on the events of the past hour, Xie Ming was overcome with dejection.
She yearned for it all to be a dream, a fleeting nightmare that would vanish upon waking. However, the harsh reality was undeniable. This wasn't a dream, but an unyielding truth she was left to confront alone.
Despite her disbelief, everything that had transpired was true. Her fiancé, the man she adored, had abandoned her on what was supposed to be their wedding day.
For three long years, her fiancé, Chen Siquan, had been deceiving her, carrying on an affair with her own younger sister. They had orchestrated a charade, making a fool of her while she, in her naivety, remained oblivious.
Although Ming had often sensed an inconsistency in their behavior, she had never delved deeper, perhaps blinded by the hollow affection her fiancé projected.
Ming’s eyes fluttered shut, a bitter smirk playing on her lips as fragmented memories of the altar scene began to surface.
Her heart shattered, a tempest of sadness, anger, and frustration raged within her. Ming felt wronged and utterly inadequate.
Wasn't she meant to be a bride today?
Shouldn't this momentous occasion be the pinnacle of her happiness?
How had fate twisted everything to this bleak outcome?
Instead of walking towards her groom, she found herself wandering the desolate streets, exposed and vulnerable.
Ming's life had descended into utter chaos.
…
An hour earlier.
At the wedding altar.
Donning a pristine white gown, Ming’s heart swelled with warmth and a hopeful blush as she saw the man she loved awaiting her at the altar.
Clutching her father's hand, Ming began her slow, deliberate walk towards her intended husband, a radiant smile gracing her features.
However, her smile faltered and disappeared as she met his gaze, which now held a mocking glint that unsettled her deeply. A palpable shift emanated from him; he no longer resembled the man she had cherished for the past three years.
Her eyes remained locked on him throughout the procession down the aisle, desperately searching for an explanation, for the reason behind this unsettling change, but to no avail.
'Perhaps I'm just overthinking things,' Ming attempted to soothe her racing thoughts.
Regaining her composure and forcing a beautiful curve back onto her lips, she continued her approach towards him.
Upon reaching the front, Father Xie bestowed a tender kiss upon Ming's forehead before gently placing his daughter's hand into Chen Siquan's.
A hollow, derisive chuckle escaped Siquan's lips as he smirked, "You truly believed I would marry you? What an utterly deluded and foolish woman."
Ming's body seized with shock, her face draining of all color. The reality of the situation was incomprehensible.
Tentatively extending a hand, Ming touched his arm, her voice trembling as she questioned, "Siquan, what are you—"
*THUD*
With a brutal shove, Siquan sent her sprawling to the ground, hissing with venom, "Don't you dare touch me. You disgust me."
A sharp gasp escaped Ming as the cold, hard floor met her palms. Struggling to rise, she was about to utter a desperate plea when she witnessed Chen Siquan turning away.
He stopped directly before her younger sister, his hand caressing her arm before he tenderly cupped her face.
"Darling, I trust you are content now," he murmured softly.
