Yaoyao learned from her mother that she is one month pregnant, eliciting joy from her family amid her own worries about childbirth. Lu Liangwei reassured her of the child's importance as future empress and promised to attend the birth. Meanwhile, newlywed Hexin shyly asked Long Yin not to touch her publicly, embarrassed after their wedding night and weakened knees.

Hearing those words, the depth in Long Yin's gaze intensified. He glanced toward her knees. "Are they still feeling weak?"

Hexin's cheeks burned hot under his stare. She gripped her skirt tightly and stepped backward. Though her knees were hidden beneath her gown, his piercing look made her feel utterly exposed.

The thought deepened her flush, shrinking her voice to a whisper. "Yes."

Noticing her discomfort, Long Yin stepped closer and clasped her hand, uncertain of what more to say. "Don't overthink it. Everyone there has been through the same. They understand and won't mock you."

Hexin froze in surprise.

She might have overthought it, yet the earlier events truly left her uneasy and humiliated. It felt as though all eyes had seen right through her, making her wish the ground would swallow her up.

Seeing her rooted in a stupor, Long Yin suddenly swept her into his arms.

"What are you doing? Put me down now!" Hexin panicked the moment she realized his intention.

"I never realized you were so shy. Guess I'll have to train you more on that," Long Yin teased with a grin, ignoring her protests as he carried her to the Eastern Palace.

Hexin bit her lip and clutched the front of his robe, too embarrassed to raise her head.

Servants still trailed behind them. How could he behave like this?

Thankfully, upon reaching the Eastern Palace, Long Yin ceased his teasing. He simply urged her to rest well before heading to his study.

"Crown Princess, His Highness treats you so well," Die'er said cheerfully, offering Hexin a cup of tea.

Hexin accepted the cup and took a sip. Calmly, she replied, "We've only just married. It's too soon to say for sure."

Die'er nodded. "You're right."

"I want to nap. Don't wake me at noon," Hexin said softly while gently rubbing her sore thighs.

"Yes, Crown Princess," Die'er responded. Helping remove Hexin's outer robe, she blushed at the many marks dotting her mistress's pale neck.

At that moment, Die'er felt deep pity for her lady.

Guarding outside their chamber last night, the sounds within had only quieted near dawn.

As it was her mistress's first time, enduring such fervor explained why she needed rest right after breakfast.

Long Yin left his study at noon, intending to share lunch with Hexin. But finding her in deep slumber, he chose not to disturb her.

He had clearly gone too far with her the previous night.

Memories of their heated passion stirred his pulse, bringing a faint blush to his striking features. Unwilling to risk waking her, he quickly exited the room.

He feared lingering longer might prevent her from sleeping more.

Hexin slept through the whole day, stirring only as evening approached.

Blinking in the dim light, she scanned the chamber. For an instant, she believed herself back in her Yan Kingdom room.

That illusion shattered when the door opened and Long Yin entered.

"Are you awake?"

Hexin stared blankly at the man by the bed. Shaking off her daze, she nodded and tried to sit up.

Long Yin approached and offered a hand to support her.

"If you hadn't woken soon, I was about to rouse you." Gazing at her sleep-flushed delicate cheeks, his voice softened tenderly.

"I've slept too long." Hexin felt a touch of embarrassment.

"No worry. We can still make it to Grand Phoenix Palace." Long Yin reassured her, retrieving her gown from the screen to assist her.

"I'll handle it myself." Hexin swiftly halted him, her face burning with profound shyness.
