Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1535 When the True Demigods Arrived
Previously on Titan King: Ascension of the Giant...
Leonidas spoke with thick contempt, his eyes filled with superiority as he gazed down at them.
Before Gotaition and Yalennu managed a reply, the draconic soul phantom of Leonidas divided into two majestic divine dragons. Each one gripped a blazing arrow in its jaws and shot back toward the enemy demigods along wild, impossible-to-follow paths.
"Return to sender! Choke on them!"
In the instant that followed, arrows smashed into arrows, and arrows slammed against swords.
A ferocious shockwave burst outward, surging up a massive tsunami hundreds of feet tall. Thankfully, they fought in the ocean depths; no matter the wave's immense size, it seemed no more than a mere puddle ripple when viewed from high overhead.
Once the collision ceased and the howling gales faded, just one draconic phantom lingered above the battlefield.
Its presence was unmatched, exuding total supremacy over everything beneath it.
"The battle is over for now!" Leonidas proclaimed.
At this sight, Orion emerged from under the waves with the Kraken and came right up to Leonidas.
"Orion, what do you mean 'for now'?" the Kraken questioned, puzzled. "Are those two really going to drop it?"
After aiming his bewilderment at Orion, the huge creature shifted focus to Leonidas. "Boss, you good? Need some fresh sashimi to recharge?"
The Kraken's remark held a playful vibe. Of course, a touch of ribbing came with it—that's just their usual banter style.
"They were just two weak phantoms!" Leonidas snorted with a grin. "Heh... Your big bro hardly moved a muscle, and poof—they vanished.
After flexing successfully before his little bro, Leonidas felt pumped and a tad mischievous. "On the sashimi, count me in for sure."
"But we gotta hold off a moment!"
While talking, Leonidas squinted toward the horizon, staring straight at the mainland.
"Hold off a moment?" The Kraken traced Leonidas's line of sight, dread churning in his belly.
"This realm is their home ground," Orion clarified, his gaze fixed on the far-off continent too. "If your demigod phantom got smashed on your turf, would you just shrug it off?"
Leonidas and he both detected two far stronger demigod presences hurtling swiftly toward them.
"Uh... should I dive to the seabed and hide?" the Kraken wondered, glancing awkwardly between Orion and Leonidas, worry etched deep on his face.
During a true demigod showdown, an Arch Lord like him would merely drag them down—the frailest part of their group. Loyalty wasn't the issue for the Kraken; he simply grasped his boundaries all too well. Staying out of the way was his best support.
"Squiddy, relax your mind!" Leonidas extended a hand to pat the Kraken fondly. "Stick by my brother, and you're totally secure.
He grinned slyly. "That kinda talk means you're doubting your big bros."
Even should gods descend right now, he and Orion stood ready to challenge the skies and crush the lands.
"They're here," Orion interrupted, halting Leonidas's next words.
Leonidas whipped his head around, narrowing his eyes at the two shapes swelling quickly on the horizon.
"Gentlemen, I wonder when my House of the Black Lion ever offended you?"
A refined, strict, and perfectly calm voice echoed across the sea. Yalennu's tone turned out surprisingly pleasant to the ear.
"So it's a lady," Leonidas remarked openly. "Who'd have guessed I'd end up the bad guy, beating on a woman today?"
From the speaker's aura alone, Leonidas pegged her right away. She was the real form of the demigod phantom that had swung the fiery sword. Her phantom before had been too vague to spot face or even sex. Now, present in person, her true self shone obvious.
"Do you two not understand words?" Leonidas mocked, brushing off Yalennu's query completely. "You picked on my brother in his own domain. No respect shown to him means none coming back from me."
He'd spelled out his motives crystal clear just before obliterating their phantoms; no point in courteous repeats.
Yalennu paused briefly, giving no quick comeback.
Seconds later, her companion demigod, Gotaition, fired back with a grim voice. "As far as I know, the previous Alicantus Sea lord was a turtle leviathan, not the creature next to you."
Leonidas flashed a grin. The Kraken had filled him in on the latest turf wars before his arrival, so the full tale was no mystery to him.
"The big turtle is dead. Can't this place have a new lord?" Leonidas retorted. "Or are you just trying to usurp my brother's territory for yourself?"
Gotaition faltered in his response. He wasn't short on comebacks; it was the political dynamics of this realm that stopped him from pushing aggressively.
The seas had forever remained the unchallenged territory of marine demigods. Any mainland powerhouses who dared invade the ocean would suffer the furious united assault from all oceanic demigods.
This stood as an implicit agreement, a silent pact against mutual aggression.
Naturally, unless it involved a complete racial war, small clashes at the borders didn't breach this understanding. The Black Lion House never planned to dominate these waters. Their goal was simply to establish a sea trade path, reclaim vital lost resources, and place a sea beast loyal to their House as a puppet ruler.
No one anticipated encountering the Kraken—a ferocious leviathan aggressively claiming more territory to advance into the demigod level. That ruthless drive had sparked the current clash.
"Sir, are you deliberately trying to ignite a war between land and sea demigods?" Gotaition pressed sternly, his face serious. He had completely misidentified Leonidas and Orion as fresh marine demigods from this world.
"What, are you scared?" Leonidas mocked.
Leonidas harbored a truly devious nature. He had no qualms about inciting this world's sea demigods into a grand conflict and drawing them to his side. Should that occur, his younger brother, the Kraken, could exploit the chaos and ascend as one of this realm's top rulers.
Confronted by Leonidas's mockery and open contempt, the pair of demigods went quiet again.
Though they hailed from a Divine Sigil House, such Houses weren't all allied. If the Black Lion House endured a devastating war, rival Houses would eagerly pounce to dismantle them.
"Sir, the merits and faults here are hard to clarify right now," Gotaition conceded at last, his voice milder. "If the one next to you returns our missing supply ship, we'll drop this entirely. Bygones will stay bygones, and we won't probe deep into these seas anymore."
This represented a huge compromise. Gotaition and Yalennu had hurried here solely for that vital load of goods. The Golden-Silk Tinder served as the essential ingredient to enhance their heirs' sigils. That marked their non-negotiable limit.
"Supplies?" Orion interjected at last, his tone calm and practical. "How does that concern my brother? You misplaced your goods, so you're blaming him?"
He advanced a step. "Want your supplies back? Dive into the abyss and retrieve them yourself."
With the Golden-Silk Tinder mentioned, Orion couldn't stay silent. The Kraken had already presented it to him earlier as an offering.
It formed a key component for Orion to refine and rebuild his relic set, and he hadn't anticipated gaining it so effortlessly from the Kraken.
Thus, taking the Black Lion House's shipment was inevitable. No chance of recovery.
