Governor Tyrus activated a Recording Orb revealing a Sovereign-class octopus leviathan dragging his ship Thunder Lion into the ocean depths, prompting him to petition his House's demigods for aid against the threat blocking their vital maritime route. In the Champions Alliance public channel, the frantic Kraken spammed pleas for rescue as two demigod phantom wills besieged its underwater lair. Orion and Leonidas swiftly responded, preparing to descend with their own phantom wills to assist the trapped leviathan.

Amidst the vast open sea, waves rose sky-high like towering mountains.

A gigantic octopus of immense size thrashed wildly in the turbulent waters. Its body, vast as a mountain, along with its thick tentacles twisting like serpents, stirred the ocean furiously, unleashing a ceaseless storm of water spears and arrow-like rains.

Yet, this horrifying outburst of might crumbled in an instant upon clashing with a figure completely enveloped in raging flames.

The pair of humans who stood steadily on the sea's surface seemed utterly real, but in truth, they were nothing more than illusory projections.

A lion-head sigil was etched between their eyebrows. The enigmatic force emanating from these symbols granted them mastery over these waters.

Whoosh!

The figure grasping a fiery longbow unleashed an arrow. The shot sliced through the pounding waves like a swift fish, slamming into the enormous octopus concealed in the depths.

"Who would have thought a leviathan on the brink of evolution would venture into these waters. Lucky we spotted it in time, or the House's trade route would face devastating losses."

Boom!

The blazing arrow exploded far below the surface, dealing tremendous damage to the leviathan.

A vicious grin curled on Gotaition's face. The colossal creature ahead had already lost half its vitality. Without plans to tame it, they could have slain the wretched thing ages ago.

"Stay vigilant," cautioned Yalennu, positioned at his side with a flaming sword ready. "This behemoth might belong to some sea-dweller. The Patriarch assigned me to join you just to avoid such mishaps."

They shared blood ties from the same Divine Sigil House.

"Yalennu, you worry too much!" Gotaition sneered.

"I've whittled down half its life with my arrows already, and we're about to seize it. If it was truly some demigod's familiar, why no call for its master yet?"

Gotaition's gaze blazed with savage killing intent. The warship's captain, sunk in the wreck, was his favored kin—the genius in his line most poised to claim and wield a Divine Sigil.

Sadly, the youth had been too inexperienced, his fortune spent, swallowed forever by the merciless sea.

"This arrow seals its fate," Gotaition proclaimed.

"Any backer it has must reveal itself now."

Whoosh!

With power fully charged, Gotaition fired the arrow without the slightest pause.

The missile dove into the dark depths.

KA-BOOM!

It erupted like a tiny nuclear blast in the abyss. The force carved a temporary vacuum void straight through the ocean.

Still, for all its destructive fury, Gotaition and Yalennu, the two demigods, abruptly frowned.

Why?

For in that empty chasm, no gigantic octopus leviathan appeared.

Just one severed, lifeless tentacle floated there.

"Damn it!"

"It was a tentacle avatar!"

"That monster played us!"

The furious bellow erupted from Gotaition, who just before had loomed superior, eyes alight with lethal resolve to finish the Kraken.

"The filthy octopus got away?"

Yalennu, close by, fixed his gaze on the detached tentacle, his expression twisting into an ugly scowl.

Two demigods, hoodwinked by a lowly Arch Lord right before their eyes.

The beast fleeing was bad enough, but if it struck their convoys repeatedly along this path, disaster loomed.

And such raids seemed all too likely. Many leviathans boasted keen wits, some matching or exceeding human cunning.

"We have a problem," Yalennu stated darkly.

The "problem" he meant was, naturally, hunting down the rogue giant Kraken.

Despite its huge frame, locating the octopus in the endless sea proved tougher than a needle in a haystack.

"A huge problem, yes," Gotaition conceded. Fooled by a mere monster—pure disgrace.

"It's not just a problem. You two are in deep shit!"

A sinister, haughty voice suddenly boomed from the sea floor, rising from the very vacuum chasm Gotaition's attack had torn open.

At once, the waters surged wildly, flooding back to seal the gap.

Three shrouded figures shot upward swiftly from the depths.

"Demigods!"

"Demigod powerhouses!"

Gotaition and Yalennu shouted together.

Unfamiliar demigod auras washed over them, sending their hearts pounding.

"Heh. Bullying the weak on my brother's turf? How do you want to die?"

Leonidas's voice grew nearer and sharper.

Before Gotaition and Yalennu had any chance to respond, a spectral dragon exploded from the water, hurtling towards them with the relentless power of a genuine dragon surging from the depths.

Gotaition and Yalennu reacted swiftly. One thrust his sword ahead to block it, as the other pulled out his bow.

From behind them, ghostly images of bellowing fiery lions appeared, unleashing a surge of blazing hot energy.

"Orion, can the boss take them on solo? You sure we don't need to rush up and lend a hand?"

Under the waves, Orion and the Kraken stood side by side, observing the dragon-lion showdown overhead.

"Relax. They're just two weak phantoms."

"With the power of Brother Leo's phantom that he brought down, smashing them is easy as pie."

Orion stayed completely calm. The mighty demigods who had hunted the Kraken across the seas appeared no real danger to him.

And indeed, they posed none.

Upon descending with Leonidas, Orion immediately assessed the power of those two demigod phantoms floating over the sea.

Though clearly demigod projections, their power paled in comparison to the ones Orion and Leonidas had summoned.

Orion and Leonidas had arrived fully equipped to support the Kraken, after all.

To impress his younger brother, Leonidas's phantom was so thick it almost seemed physical. Orion wondered if Leonidas had poured all his faith energy into it.

Naturally, Orion held nothing back. His phantom was equally substantial, and he'd even carried a fragment of the Mirror of Theras.

ROAR!

While Orion and the Kraken talked, a dragon's bellow—like a mix of bull and tiger—ripped across the heavens with earth-shattering might.

Leonidas was incredible. At this moment, he looked utterly unstoppable.

He floated mid-air, his dragon claws on left and right each seizing a huge flaming arrow.

Those throbbing arrows were locked tight in Leonidas's grip, unable to escape at all.

"You think these lame tricks can hit my brother? You're asking for death."
