The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human? Chapter 1338 817: Farewell, Dragonfly Captain (2)
Previously on The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?...
"I lost."
Cang Sha Xiang gazed dejectedly at her arm.
She had figured that besides Coach Hard Man, no other humanoid being could beat her in sheer muscular power.
"You didn't lose to me; you lost to a hundred million."
Liu Zheng remarked.
"What?"
Cang Sha Xiang stared at him in confusion.
"This synthetic body set me back a hundred million. Beating it would be the true shocker. Besides, like I said, we both come out winners."
"You'll get the delivery, and I'll still purchase this building, or at least lease the gym to you."
Liu Zheng added.
"You're serious?"
Cang Sha Xiang asked with excitement.
"Absolutely, my reputation is backed by major landmarks and their reps. How else could I call in Dragonfly Captain?"
He boasted proudly.
Dragonfly Captain shot him a sideways look but stayed silent to keep the event smooth.
Arm wrestling happens often, yet a showdown between a Bloody Restaurant delivery guy and the client is pretty uncommon.
Through the years, apart from Liu Zheng, just the Legendary delivery man had required his judging services, and not against a customer.
"I figured you were merely a huge bookworm..."
Cang Sha Xiang whispered under her breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing. Still, rent it to Coach Hard Man; I can't afford to pay you rent."
Cang Sha Xiang replied.
"The reward from our contest goes straight to you. Whom you sublet to is your call."
Liu Zheng stated.
"Don't fret, Xiangjiang, I'll persuade the owner to extend the lease. I'm fine renting to you."
Hard Man chimed in.
The gym's future rent would surely at least double, with zero risk of sitting empty.
Should the owner skip renewal, Cang Sha Xiang could profit big by leasing it elsewhere.
"Fine then, when will you snag the property?"
Cang Sha Xiang inquired.
"Once you sign for the delivery, my team will sort it out with you. I've got more deliveries pending. No time for minor stuff like acquiring buildings."
Liu Zheng responded offhandedly.
"Coach, mind if I punch him? He's got that smug vibe."
Cang Sha Xiang murmured to Hard Man.
"Nope, no brawling in the gym. Plus, he lacks his own body for muscle training—he's pathetic enough, just spare him."
Hard Man murmured in reply.
"Hey, you think I can't hear that?"
Liu Zheng narrowed his eyes while speaking.
"Hehe~"
The pair exchanged genuine grins that suited their brawny builds.
"Okay, sign for the delivery."
Liu Zheng retrieved the chili oil bottle from the Legendary Takeout Box.
"Whoa, it's this one!"
Cang Sha Xiang yelped in astonishment.
She'd coveted this chili oil forever, but her funds were too slim.
Though the 'hundred million chili oil' doesn't truly cost a hundred million, it's beyond a typical student's reach.
Moreover, its ingredients hail from abroad, making it hard to get even with cash.
"Seems you adore it. Wondering how you'll use it—gonna rub it on yourself for real?"
Liu Zheng wondered.
"Exactly."
Cang Sha Xiang bobbed her head vigorously.
"Xiangjiang has a unique physique; chili oil on her skin boosts metabolism, enhancing training results—the spicier, the greater the effect. Naturally, it must be pure chili-made; synthetic capsaicin fails."
Hard Man clarified for her.
"You slather it everywhere?"
"Yep, inside and out works best."
Cang Sha Xiang confirmed.
"Impressive."
Liu Zheng offered a thumbs-up.
He pondered offering the chili oil to Guo Koutangzi, and if she passed, handing the copy to this tanned girl, as few would value it like her.
"A friendly and upbeat contest—hope you keep delivering thrilling events to the Metropolis."
After Cang Sha Xiang signed the receipt, Dragonfly Captain delivered his wrap-up and readied for takeoff.
"Hold on, Judge, you forgetting something?"
Liu Zheng hailed him.
"The prize is handed out. Any side deals are your affair; I've no right or obligation to oversee."
Dragonfly Captain replied.
He assumed Liu Zheng meant the gym lease.
"Not that—I mean the gold medal, hehe."
Liu Zheng grinned sheepishly.
"Gold medals aren't handed out lightly; only dazzling matches claim them."
Dragonfly Captain denied with a headshake.
This arm wrestle merited his presence but fell short of gold medal status.
"Fine."
Liu Zheng sighed, dropping the issue.
Considering his tie with Dragonfly Captain, it would've been granted if possible.
"On competitions, I'm organizing a fresh talent fitness event with buddy gyms. Care to judge?"
Hard Man cut in.
"If it's thrilling enough, I'll show."
Dragonfly Captain eyed him and responded.
They couldn't track every Metropolis event live, but Hard Man's heads-up kept him posted.
Still, a local rookie fitness contest probably wouldn't hook him.
"Got it."
Hard Man nodded, let down.
"Any entry rules?"
Liu Zheng queried, noting the vibe.
"Folks who've been gym members under a year qualify."
Hard Man explained.
"Sign me up then—I'll get my pals memberships too."
"My crew's exceptional, you know. Includes a Ra Clan Priest survivor, a Platinum Author plus two top Writer Association scribes, the sewer agent's only daughter, the Travel Mage's lone son..."
Liu Zheng listed them off.
"Okay, stop—call me ten minutes prior to kickoff, later."
Dragonfly Captain cut him short, then soared off in man-headed dragonfly form.
"Dragonfly Captain's in?"
Hard Man asked in disbelief.
"Definitely—with that roster, even a Ministry of Culture bash might not assemble it."
Liu Zheng affirmed assuredly.
While folks often nixed his shady or violent invites, a simple fitness meet held appeal.
"Thanks a ton, Mr. Liu."
Hard Man gripped Liu Zheng's hand firmly.
"No sweat—you're my trainer."
Liu Zheng started to continue but sensed a sudden chill.
He knew that sensation intimately.
"He's arriving—let's bail."
He yanked Hard Man from the room.
"Xiangjiang gonna be alright?"
Hard Man fretted, eyeing the shut door.
"Relax, she'll just need downtime at worst—no dying."
Liu Zheng soothed.
Someone tough enough for full-power arm wrestling with an Extreme Fury Asura could handle a delivery fine.
"Okay, but you're not as scary as the tales claim. Guess Bloody Restaurant delivery demons being ultimate fiends is mere hype."
Hard Man grinned.
"Let's set it straight—that's no hype. Don't lump my deeds on the whole crew. Others don't bargain; it's pure winner-takes-all."
Liu Zheng corrected.
"Understood."
Hard Man affirmed gravely.
"If Cang Sha Xiang requires care, head to 'Imhurst,' mention I referred her. Right, I'm heading out."
"Safe travels."
Liu Zheng exited the gym and rang Wang Manni.
"Grab the gear and link up on Rose Street."
He instructed.
"On it."
After hanging up, he sped to Rose Street, spotting the French Plane Tree topped with birds from distance.
Liu Zheng opted not to bother it, parking by the manhole instead.
Soon, Wang Manni's Beetle rolled in.
"Here."
He waved the Beetle over to his spot.
"Whoa, your ride's awesome!"
Wang Manni's eyes sparkled at the spirit car.
"Love it that much, yet you got a Beetle?"
Liu Zheng teased.
"No choice—everyone picks 'em. I lack the status to shine yet."
Wang Manni shrugged.
