THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 770 The Day the Gods Bled (2)
Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
In mere moments, Agaroth unleashed six or seven world-shattering abilities with utter ease..
all as the enormous jaws encircling the battlefield kept up their unyielding assault.
"I don't get it," Agaroth bellowed.
"Didn't you show up here today planning to end my life?!"
BOOOOOOM!!
Agaroth cracked the earth under his feet, spreading his shadow wider.
This was the King's Shadow..
Yet he didn't halt there.
Black flames erupted from the shadow, boosting its might many times over.
Fiery shadows burst up from the ground like lances crafted to skewer any fool who opposed the Demon King.
Agaroth blended those world-shattering abilities with seamless skill.
Despite their supreme might, the Great Ones found it utter torment to ward off Agaroth's onslaughts.
"Who do you think stands before you now?"
BOOOOOOM!!
Agaroth wiped out yet another Great One, ripping through him without effort as he pressed onward.
"If that's the best you've got..
then what was the point of even coming here?"
"Do you crave death so desperately?!
Speak up, Great Ones!!"
His bellow rattled the entire realm like a massive quake..
In reply, a gigantic beam of light plunged from the skies, crashing right onto him.
The attacker looked like a scorching sun.
A Great One from the Light Bearers.
"Demon King," the entity declared,
"you're seen as one of us Great Ones. But you defy His command. We're not chasing death—it's you, by challenging Him."
As the Light Bearer's devastating strike poured down..
The other surviving Great Ones unleashed their utmost strength all at once, forcing Agaroth far underground with the immense force.
They hemmed him in from every direction, striking without mercy—now that they'd handled those hideous mouths Agaroth had summoned before.
The Light Bearer's energy clashed directly with demonic essence, its impact almost matching the Light Soul..
a power that could deal heavy wounds to the Demon King.
Paired with the onslaught from every other Great One, the barrage was total.
Still, beneath that overwhelming force..
The Demon King strode ahead steadily, passing right through the light ray, taking it straight on.
"His command?" Agaroth sneered.
"Spare me the joke."
Darkness wrapped around him like a cloak as he moved forward, the terrain below him blasting apart completely.
Seeing his defiance, the Great Ones ramped up their strikes.. but it proved pointless.
Agaroth kept closing in on them, one step at a time.
"You're just slaves..
slaves to a vile thing that hangs on to existence in the most wretched manner possible."
While the Great Ones' light beams converged in a joint attack, Agaroth's form warped as he called forth a massive surge of energy.
The Demon King's mocking laugh filled the Great Ones with dread..
beings who couldn't grasp how this beast kept going amid their combined fury.
"You claimed before that I'm a Great One like the rest of you," Agaroth went on, his tone icy and mocking.
"So explain this..
do you really think you and I are equals?"
Agaroth balled his hand into a fist, then lunged ahead.. smashing the light beam to pieces.
"Let's find out the truth!"
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Right before the surviving Great Ones' eyes, Agaroth stabbed clean through the Light Bearer Great One's form, erasing him with one devastating blow.
Then, without a break, he dashed at breakneck pace.. taking them down in rapid succession.
"If that's your limit, your doom approaches!!"
Blasts rang out one after another as shadows and infernos consumed all in sight.
The Great Ones charged at Agaroth in waves.. but the Demon King crushed them individually.
"Today… you'll grasp what real fear means."
Agaroth moved like a specter..
undetectable, invisible, impossible to block.
Whatever they threw his way, no matter their assaults..
nothing could halt him.
His form defied nature itself.
Even light hostile to demons left him untouched.
The Demon King now embodied his ultimate strength..
the height he'd attained after clashing with Nameless long ago.
This Agaroth's power defied all measurement..
reason held no sway over him.
As Agaroth cut them down one by one, he paused when one finally held him off.
That one had a build much like Agaroth's..
pale gray skin clad in bizarre, alien armor.
"Haha! You stopped my attack?" Agaroth chuckled.
"That resilience… you're a Pantheon Great One, right?"
Agaroth rushed him without delay.. and the Great One met him head-on.
They traded strikes at dizzying velocities, pounding each other with ruinous might.
Each impact unleashed huge waves of devastation that wiped out anything nearby..
and without Izalith's blood barriers, Helmond would have been utterly destroyed.
The Pantheon Great One held out with all his strength against Agaroth.
But for all his toughness and raw force..
Agaroth started to dominate him, bit by bit.
In the midst of their brawl, the Pantheon Great One's blows landed on Agaroth's frame a few times..
yet he never sensed striking anything alive.
"I don't get it…" the Pantheon Great One whispered, baffled.
"What am I even hitting with these fists?"
With those words, Agaroth ramped up his drive, smashing him without pity.
Cracks started appearing on the Pantheon Great One's unbreakable body..
and fear crept into his core.
It didn't feel like pounding living tissue.
Rather, each hit plunged into an endless void.
A chilling thought hit him..
Is this the Demon King? The devourer of all things?
Dazed by that horror and wonder, the Pantheon Great One didn't notice Agaroth had already obliterated him entirely, sparing only his head.
Clutching that head, Agaroth squeezed tight..
and pulverized it to dust.
"You Great Ones never comprehend," Agaroth said icily,
"you who boast of ruling supreme."
He advanced over piles of bodies, flames, and gore.
"I warned you earlier..
you're mere slaves to that loathsome creature. Beings he shaped, tricked into thinking you're the height of your kinds."
Agaroth's form blazed with rising, unstoppable energy as he lunged once more.
"Your might might crown you lords of the world…
but against me, you're empty shells, worthless ants..
devoid of purpose, devoid of essence."
The massacre by Agaroth raged on.
It was a horror show..
a total wipeout.
This wasn't combat.
It was butchery.
In the chaos of ruin, Agaroth started yelling.
"ODIN!!!!!"
The Demon King summoned the ruler of the Great Ones while ripping through more of them.
"I sense you're observing! Emerge and confront me!"
He thundered on as he dispatched the Great Ones with casual power.
"Your worthless minions can't touch me!
Send as many as you like.. the outcome stays the same!"
BOOOOOOM!!!
Bursts kept erupting as the disaster unfolded.
"Reveal yourself!!
Battle me!!"
Agaroth pushed ahead, hailing the repulsive force that had lurked unseen through it all.
The Great Ones fell pathetically to the Demon King..
their defeat loomed close.
From the start, the Great Ones had invaded Helmond for one clear aim..
and to fulfill it, they had to contain the Demon King.
But they'd committed a deadly error.
They had lowballed him.
They had misjudged Agaroth, the Demon King.. and his strength surpassed what they'd imagined… nearly wiping them out completely.
No one had foreseen the Great Ones crumbling so fast.
And due to this shocking turn..
An unforeseen event unfolded.
Agaroth kept butchering the Great Ones—
until he froze, detecting a shift.
Amid streams of blood and roaring blazes, Agaroth gradually lifted his eyes to the heavens.
Up there, a strange gray haze of unknown presence started gathering..
a presence no one had ever felt till now.
Every being in Helmond sensed that presence, compelling them to look up at the odd sight.
The Demon King had exceeded all predictions.
Therefore— his involvement was unavoidable.
Helmond's blood-red sky started to transform.
In a weird, baffling way, it shifted to a clean, shining white.
The whole world quaked, readying for his coming.
As for Agaroth..
A frightful grin lit his features, joy sparkling in his gaze.
"At last."
Out of that white fog, eyes flared with golden light,
heralding the comeback of a forgotten calamity from ages past.
