THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 749: A Battlefield Outside Time

Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
Gehrman unveiled his temporal ability, a clock-shaped ring that freezes his body's time at a chosen point, allowing him to revert to that state and evade true death, though it strains his damaged form. Facing Amon's lightning-fast strikes, he deploys a dense frost mist domain to slow the attacks just enough to dodge, while Abraham adapts by compressing his Dawn Barrier for the same evasive tactic. Despite their clever counters and combined assault, they inflict no significant harm on the demon, who revels in the challenge as Gehrman gambles on exploiting Amon's unused world-breaking power. The clash escalates into a furious exchange of SSS-tier auras against the 11th-ranked High Demon.

For the initial time in the ongoing clash, Gehrman and Abraham switched to offense, having endured nothing but relentless defense against Amon up to that point.

"A daring choice for a careful guy like you, Gehrman... or is another trick up your sleeve?" Amon bellowed, obviously relishing the moment.

Gehrman moved with blinding quickness, closing the gap in a flash while delivering a punch infused with icy aura.

Even with the assault's velocity, Amon spotted it plainly and parried it without effort using the rear of his palm.

Simultaneously, Abraham struck from an unseen angle, seeking to capitalize on Amon’s attention fixed on Gehrman .. yet the fiend repelled the blow with equal simplicity employing his remaining hand.

The light blade wielded by Abraham held tremendous might, its velocity almost invisible—still, Amon seized it smoothly, facing no challenge whatsoever.

"Whatever scheme you’re hatching," Amon stated steadily, "closing in like this carries huge danger. You’re aware of it."

Amon resumed his fighting posture anew, releasing his rapid punch once again.

"At this range... landing the hit is unavoidable."

The demon’s rapid blow proved impossible to detect or hinder so near up close. Put differently, neither Gehrman nor Abraham could sidestep it like they had earlier.

Instead ..

A knowing look passed between the pair.

Gehrman held a strategy .. and Abraham grasped it right away, needing no explanation. Their thoughts had aligned perfectly.

Amon fired off two rapid blows from zero distance .. targeting Abraham with one, Gehrman with the next.

Yet rather than trying to avoid, an explosive impact echoed, unleashing huge surges of aura that demolished all nearby.

"I see..." Amon murmured, his gaze igniting—one might claim a broad grin appeared under his mask.

Gehrman and Abraham opted to retaliate rather than flee.

Through erecting protective shields around themselves, they pinpointed the assault’s path and angle .. then met it head-on with their own riposte.

Gehrman’s ice-charged fist smashed straight into Amon’s strike.

At the same instant, Abraham unleashed his blade at full aura capacity against the demon’s limb.

Neither managed to surpass Amon’s crushing aura force, taking wounds in the process .. though they halted the attacks without dodging.

"Bring all you have against me!"

Amon’s aura pressure exploded outward. It seemed as though the world halted while he whipped his arms in horrifying velocity, unleashing nonstop barrages on both Gehrman and Abraham.

Though they boasted exceptional awareness and remarkable agility .. even so, matching Amon’s unyielding onslaught proved tough.

That opening salvo wounded them both severely.

A single hit bypassed Abraham’s guard, obliterating his left abdominal area entirely. Gehrman lessened the harm more effectively .. yet his form still suffered injury.

Luckily, the wound didn’t stop Abraham from battling onward.

He disregarded the pain completely and drove forward with his blades.

The trio traded strikes at blistering pace, the aura backlash from their impacts bordering on the unreal.

Abraham stood as the least strong of the group .. yet merely by existing there, he lightened Gehrman’s load considerably, pulling some of Amon’s focus and blows his way.

However, time worked against them.

Abraham couldn’t last in a fight beyond his capacity for much longer. His mere survival thus far bordered on miraculous.

This endurance stemmed straight from his Absolute Manipulator power, enabling him to endure superhuman harm .. harm that would fell any regular person unable to press on.

Gehrman had already burned through vast reserves of his icy aura, but it hadn’t impacted Amon significantly.

In that pivotal instant, Gehrman’s gaze sharpened as his thoughts raced even quicker.

"As anticipated... ice won’t faze him."

Gehrman examined his foe’s frame, hunting urgently for any flaw.

His ice outclassed typical frost by far—but it fell short regardless.

"My ice could slay him .. if I infuse it inside him, just like with Wesker... though that demands breaking through his guard."

Ice born from fire origins proved exceptional .. particularly at Gehrman’s tier.

Should he implant it into his rival’s core, total internal devastation would follow.

"Achieving it means relying on my time powers."

"...Yet my form can scarcely manage the Ruler’s Hand and Ring of the Body even once..."

"Damn it."

Gehrman swore inwardly, compelling his concentration.

Before, the Ring of the Body had rebuilt his form post-Amon’s ruin of it, exhausting him deeply.

Considering all factors, Gehrman knew just one additional time-based skill remained possible.

Saint Gehrman commanded three reality-shattering powers .. but until now, only Ruler’s Hand had been deployed.

To truly challenge Amon, greater strain was required, releasing yet another power of equal might.

"Hang in there, Abraham!!" Gehrman yelled, ramping up his attacks.

Abraham replied with unyielding resolve, pushing ahead amid the nightmarish toll each exchange exacted on his body.

In just seconds, his leg vaporized—followed by his arm .. then a section of his throat .. and at last, half his visage disappeared completely.

Still, the Starlight lineage’s star held firm to the finish.

"If it eases the strain and hurt on Gehrman, the danger is justified!"

Abraham trusted the azure-eyed warrior possessed a scheme.

His purpose here was to ease the weight upon Gehrman’s shoulders.

Each blow aimed at Abraham over Gehrman counted as a victory for their side.

And Abraham extended that principle to its limit .. the torment he absorbed was beyond mortal limits.

The fight’s intensity soared to new heights.

They transformed into unstoppable engines of war, hurtling forward at mad velocities ..

Gehrman assaulting from the right, Abraham from the left ..

With Amon in the midst, absorbing the full brunt of their onslaught.

Though the fiend found himself hemmed in by their tactic, he remained unscathed to this point .. far from it.

In seconds flat, he had demolished his adversaries in a gruesome, heartbreaking fashion.

Amon dominated utterly, but he refused to slacken his fury or rhythm .. the cause was straightforward: their gazes.

Be it Abraham or Gehrman, no trace of surrender or withdrawal appeared in either.

On the contrary, they plunged deeper into the inferno, bearing all without pause.

During those fleeting instants... Amon truly appreciated arriving on Earth.

"I’ve savored enough... now it’s over for this fight."

Amon resolved to conclude it all, and with that choice ..

His aura’s current altered briefly, setting up his impending action.

Only an instant.

Yet it sufficed for Gehrman to seize his chance at last.
