The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] Chapter 1350: A Very Expensive Scam

Unfortunately for the three pirates, they weren’t nearly as alone as they believed.
Because somewhere nearby, a certain group of accidental eavesdroppers had just heard something rather unbelievable.
"..."
"..."
And among them, one particular blonde’s eyes had already grown as wide as saucers.
Seriously?!
What sort of fight-fire-with-fire method were those bastards trying to sell?!
As if marketing that stuff as some miraculous instant power-up wasn’t outrageous enough, they were now claiming it could actually cure spiritual imbalance disorder?!
Well, sure!
If they considered permanent death an acceptable end to someone’s suffering!
But at that point, why even bother going through all that trouble when there were plenty of easier ways to achieve the same result?!
Worse, the outraged mop could at least understand how unsuspecting customers might fall for such claims, but these bastards clearly knew they were manufacturing something deadly!
So what kind of lunatic would look at someone already suffering from spiritual imbalance and decide that the best possible treatment was to give them something they knew would actually kill them?!
The blonde, who hadn’t been able to express his emotions properly for a while now, certainly had a lot of opinions about the matter. Unfortunately, all he could do was try to contain his outrage unless he wanted to start sparking all over the place again!
Did they seriously think everyone could just be like his good brother?!
"..."
The blonde’s expression twisted.
They’d encountered all sorts of ridiculous things over the past few months alone, but even now, he couldn’t help being amazed by the kinds of people natural selection had somehow overlooked.
Meanwhile, Luca wasn’t nearly as concerned that this mysterious product was claiming to offer benefits similar to those of the dungeon’s products, many of which they’d deliberately kept hidden.
What bothered him was how easily those claims could exploit people desperate for a cure.
After all, Luca knew that if someone precious to him were suffering and nothing else seemed to work, he probably would’ve been just as willing to try anything that offered even the slightest hope.
And if that possibility sounded too good to be true?
Well...
Desperation didn’t always leave people with the luxury of making reasonable decisions, so how could he possibly judge them for wanting to believe?
But before Luca could dwell on the matter any further, something else suddenly caught his attention.
"Besides, do you even know how much those things are worth?" the pirate in the brown jacket continued, apparently finding his companions far too slow to appreciate the opportunity in front of them.
"Even at its cheapest, one stick goes for around ten million Star Coins!"
"...?"
"That’s two hundred million for a pack of twenty! And a whole carton? Two billion!"
"...!"
It sounded as though a violent but very personal thunderstorm had erupted deep underground, with each deafening rumble reverberating through the surrounding tunnels so fiercely that Luca’s knees nearly buckled.
"Fuck, if we can get our hands on enough of those materials, who knows how much we’ll make?!"
"Probably not two billion, but definitely enough to buy ourselves some kind of ship, that’s for damn sure!"
"A ship? Ha! Think bigger, you idiot! We could get ourselves a custom mecha! Then we could use that to plunder other ships, hire our own crew, and live the best fucking life imaginable!"
Two of the pirates immediately began arguing over what they’d do with their imaginary fortune, growing increasingly enthusiastic as they hurried toward the storage area.
There were definitely more things said, but the Empire’s resident money-grubber had already stopped listening.
Because right now, all he could see were several rather outrageous figures practically floating before his eyes.
"..."
To basically buy corruption?!
What kind of economy was that?!
Luca was perfectly aware that some people actually enjoyed paying money to get scared.
There were even people who willingly bought tickets to haunted houses and tipped the performers afterward!
But at least those people were paying for an experience!
What kind of person would willingly spend two billion Star Coins on what was essentially a carton of corruption?!
Even someone like him, who held CP so close to his heart, couldn’t possibly imagine shelling out two billion for something like that!
Besides, if they simply went to the frontlines, wouldn’t they be able to get it for free?!
"..."
It was simply too much!
Far too much!
And so, with a terrible ache in his money-loving heart and the mournful sound of practically echoing through his soul, the Empire’s resident money-grubber finally decided that he’d had enough!
He was going to confront those scammers himself!
Only...
"Hngh!"
"ARGH!"
"...?"
Before Luca and his guildmates could even take a step toward them, several muffled grunts suddenly came from the direction of the three pirates.
"???"
What?
They hadn’t even done anything yet!
__
Xavier raised a brow slightly, his eyes narrowing as he peered into the darkness.
Apparently, there had been someone else hiding down here, and whoever that person was, they’d managed to conceal their presence so thoroughly that even the Crown Prince hadn’t detected them until now!
Unfortunately, just as the group was beginning to wonder who this mysterious intruder might be, they were suddenly treated to a rather unexpected sight.
Because according to one particular blonde, they were now witnessing the incredibly awkward situation of...
"...!"
Did these guys seriously have absolutely no sense of camaraderie?!
However, what Ollie initially assumed was some trashy fight for locker room dominance turned out to be something else entirely!
After all, the three pirates who’d been dreaming of escaping the facility and striking it rich just seconds ago were now enjoying a peaceful trip to la-la land, courtesy of their own comrade!
And the person responsible?
Well, instead of checking on the men he’d just beaten senseless, the mysterious pirate actually turned toward the seemingly empty corridor and spoke to no one in particular.
"If you’re after the materials, you’d better follow me from here on."
"...!"
Ollie’s jaw practically dropped in disbelief.
Did this fellow seriously expect them to trust him simply because he’d knocked out three other terrorists?!
The blonde was still silently questioning the mysterious pirate’s sanity when something happened that nearly sent him sprawling face-first onto the ground!
Because a smooth, strangely echoing voice had suddenly sounded.
"...!"
Ah...
But that was the thing.
Ollie hadn’t heard those words through his ears.
No.
He’d heard them directly inside his mind!
