The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] Chapter 1302: A Lovely Little Gift
Previously on The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL]...
The disgraced Platoon Leader could still vividly remember the sheer terror he’d felt upon seeing Princess Tharkira Zulgara waiting for them in the dark.
At this rate, he might even have nightmares about it for the foreseeable future. After all, how easy could it possibly be to forget those red eyes suddenly opening in the darkness, followed by wild laughter echoing through the room—
All while thirty senior cadets spun around like wet laundry!
And the worst part?
They hadn’t sensed anyone waiting for them.
Who the hell would’ve expected that out of an entire battalion of five hundred cadets, only people would stay behind to ambush thirty seniors?!
A proper fight would’ve been less humiliating!
Sure, they probably would’ve lost against a renowned Orc Princess, but at least they might’ve walked away with some dignity intact.
Instead, what happened couldn’t even be called a battle.
It was highway robbery!
Those two members of DG had barely even moved as the Orc Princess’ famous wind ability kept throwing them around until half the platoon could barely tell which direction was up.
The weapons they’d brought in case of a possible altercation couldn’t even be fired under such rough treatment unless they wanted to risk shooting each other. Worse, because she’d relied entirely on her bloodline ability, Battalion 9 had definitely saved on energy, equipment, and manpower!
How batshit crazy could this get?!
Ah well, apparently bad enough that it ended with all of them being dropped onto the floor, with the exit sealed behind another damned spiritual barrier.
They were all young cadets with supposedly bright futures, but at that moment, it felt like their blood pressures were already a hundred years ahead of them.
"..."
The fact that they’d even managed to calm down should’ve been studied and praised if it were up to him. But once they’d finally recovered enough to think properly, the solution actually seemed obvious.
Their terminals might’ve been glorified walkie-talkies under the current restrictions, but they could still contact their fellow battalion members.
So they’d just call the others outside for help!
Simple.
Except one of them had already tried that and discovered that someone had left behind a lovely little gift that temporarily blocked communications.
"Hey! HEY!"
Several seniors frantically slammed their fists and weapons against the translucent barrier.
"You need to remove the blocker!" one of them shouted desperately. "That’s illegal, you know?!"
"..."
Even he knew damn well it probably wasn’t illegal in a war simulation unless they’d somehow brought in their own private equipment, which would’ve been unlikely considering those old geezers watching would’ve used the opportunity to kick up all sorts of fuss and secure more benefits for their respective academies.
But desperate times called for shameless bullshit! And since these kids once thought using other cadets as stepping stones was illegal, then maybe they’d take his word for it.
But instead of looking even remotely bothered, Princess Kira merely tilted her head.
"Ya! If I had enough brains to make a blocker, you really think I’d be in charge of this?"
"..."
"Even if you paid me right now, I couldn’t remove it!" Kira continued with a hearty chuckle. "I don’t even know where the mop put it! It was already here when we arrived, you know? I’m betting it’s a gift for his husband!"
"!!!"
"What?!"
"Yeah!" Kira scoffed. "Why would I lie about that?"
Then, as though she hadn’t just delivered another devastating blow to their increasingly fragile dignity, the Orc Princess casually turned toward Noah.
"The supplies should be at the loading bay by now, right?"
"Yeah," Noah replied, checking his terminal. "They should be finished loading soon."
"Good. Then we can leave as soon as we’re done here." Kira paused before giving him a suspicious look. "You sure you can drive that hovercraft we borrowed? I can’t die from that of all things, you know?"
"Ideally... yes. But at this point, I guess we’re about to find out."
"..."
"..."
The seniors could only stare.
Their hearts burned with pure mortification as the two DG members gave them a lazy wave before casually preparing to leave the command center with supplies that were supposed to belong to Battalion 3. To them!
For one terrible moment, the trapped cadets almost didn’t want to do anything anymore.
They were exhausted.
They still hadn’t fully recovered from collectively trying to break through Luca Kyros’s barrier back at the Academy.
Their supplies had been stolen.
Their dignity had somehow been stolen even harder.
Maybe they should just lie down.
Unfortunately, another horrifying realization quickly struck them.
Other battalions were coming.
Which meant that if they remained trapped here much longer, the group of arriving cadets would walk straight in and witness their pitiful existence!
"..."
No.
Absolutely fucking not.
Thirty beaten-down seniors immediately found strength they hadn’t known they still possessed.
They needed to get out of here at all costs!
And with every ounce of spiritual energy they threw against the increasingly cracked barrier, the Battalion 3 cadets imagined the same beautiful thing.
Those rotten freshmen.
Screw the mission objectives!
If they could just rearrange those kids’ faces even a maybe life would finally feel worth living again!
__
Elsewhere, several ears were starting to feel strangely itchy!
Unfortunately for a certain group of cadets, this wasn’t exactly the best time to stop and scratch when their hands, or, in one particular case, spiritual tendrils, were far too occupied dealing with manual mechas of all things.
Right.
Because while the other battalions were only beginning to discover the traps left behind by two naturally sly Battalion Commanders, the group that had taken the lead had finally made first contact with Caldris Minor-7’s hostile population!
And to say things were going well would’ve been one hell of a lie.
Luca, who’d become far more accustomed to biomechas, or at the very least combination mechas, was quickly remembering the disadvantages of fighting inside a purely manual machine.
Especially when the rules meant he couldn’t simply compensate by throwing around his spiritual energy or bloodline abilities!
Unfortunately, their opponents didn’t appear to have the same problem.
Whoever Luca was currently fighting had clearly spent far more time practicing with this kind of machine and was treating it like an extension of their own body.
So when faced with an opponent who actually knew what they were doing while he was still trying to adjust after not having practiced piloting such a mecha in a while, there was really only one thing the increasingly alarmed golden-eyed cadet could say.
"Jax! Cover me! I’m jumping out!"
"WHAT?!"
