Shen Ji Yun learned that the abusive couple who had harmed Luo Yan were imprisoned for life, a case that also boosted his uncle's political career. Though relieved they were punished, Shen Ji Yun was glad he didn't have to seek his own revenge. He then spoke with his uncle and found happiness in reminiscing about his trip with Luo Yan.

LEANING against Eclipse, Luo Yan let out a content sigh as he sank into the fox’s soft fur. He wrapped his arms around one of Eclipse’s fluffy tails, hugging it close. He had been cooped up in the library all week, studying for his final exams, and he finally decided to take a break. So he logged into Arcadia after getting home to the Bai mansion.

This wasn’t his first time preparing for final exams, but that didn’t make it any easier. It had been years since he last studied the same material, and a lot of new content had been added since then. So yes, he still had to study. And he had to study hard if he wanted to keep his grades at the top until graduation. But it was also important to get enough rest. That’s why he’s in the game now. Where else could he find such a prime spot to relax?

Shen Ji Yun, on the other hand, was busy with his own graduation preparations. Having already defended his thesis, he was now handling the final requirements before the graduation ceremony in a week. There were forms to fill out, academic records to finalize, and a cap and gown to pick up. He also had to attend a few mandatory briefings.

That’s why Luo Yan hadn’t asked Shen Ji Yun to join him here. His boyfriend was already swamped with everything, and Luo Yan didn’t want to bother him.

Luo Yan couldn’t believe how quickly time had passed. His first year back at university was almost over, and Shen Ji Yun was about to graduate. It felt like just yesterday that he had started school again at T University. And now nine months had already gone by.

This past academic year had felt like a dream. Returning to his dream university, spending time with Shen Ji Yun while studying, meeting with him between classes, having meals together, and stealing moments whenever their schedules allowed. And now, it was all coming to an end. At least for this particular chapter.

He felt a little sad knowing that in the coming academic year, Shen Ji Yun wouldn’t be on campus anymore. He wouldn’t be just a phone call away. There would be no more impromptu meetups between classes or quick lunches at the campus cafeteria. But then he reminded himself that it was okay. They had already talked about moving in together. With both families now aware of their relationship, it wasn’t impossible. In fact, it was starting to feel more and more like a real possibility. That thought was enough to lift his mood.

Just thinking about looking for apartments with Shen Ji Yun, decorating the place, and having a space that was truly theirs made him smile. Money wasn’t an issue. The income from Yuexing Pavilion was more than enough for Luo Yan to buy a high-end apartment on his own. But he knew Shen Ji Yun would never let him pay for everything by himself. The most he could hope for was to split the cost evenly, and even that would take some convincing.

But before he got too carried away with the idea of buying an apartment, he should probably consider whether his father would even agree to it. His father had given Shen Ji Yun his approval, even if it had been reluctant. But Luo Yan living together with Shen Ji Yun was a different matter entirely.

He had a feeling it would take a lot of convincing before his father would agree to him living with Shen Ji Yun. The best approach would probably be to frame it as a compromise. Maybe he could agree to wait until he turned twenty, which was only six months away. That would give his father time to get used to the idea. It wasn’t a perfect plan, but it was a start.

Luo Yan just hoped it would work. The thought of waking up next to Shen Ji Yun every day, of coming home to each other, of having a space that was truly theirs, was like a dream come true for him. It would be like a preparation of how their future would be.

“By the way, Master,” Eclipse said, pulling Luo Yan from his thoughts. “The kitsunes in our village planted the Mana seeds you gave me. They are beginning to sprout. If we continue to nourish them, they should blossom soon.”

Luo Yan remembered the time they had gone to a dungeon to grind and found it filled with cherry blossom trees. Eclipse had been completely captivated, staring up at the pink petals and saying he wished the kitsune village could have trees like that. As a good master, Luo Yan had made it his mission to make that wish come true. He had tracked down high-quality Mana seeds, specifically seeking those that would grow into trees with pink leaves and pink Mana fruits. It had taken some effort, but seeing Eclipse’s excitement now made it all worthwhile.

“That’s great,” he said, smiling up at the fox.

Eclipse grinned, all his sharp teeth on full display. It would have looked intimidating to anyone else, but to Luo Yan, his fox still looked as adorable as ever.

“When they all bloom, Master and Captain should come see them,” the fox said, some of his tails flicking with excitement. “Pink sister, brother gnome, and big lion could come too. Oh! And the handsome blacksmith brother should also come.”

Luo Yan chuckled and gently smoothed Eclipse’s fur. “Of course we’ll be there.”

“I’ll ask Aunt Yuki to turn it into a festival,” Eclipse said excitedly.

Luo Yan smiled, but then his eyes caught something flickering in the distance. He recognized the telltale shimmer of someone teleporting in. Since they were on Shen Ji Yun’s floating island, there was only one other person who could teleport here.

Just as he expected, a tall man with long purple hair and a pair of qilin horns appeared. His black robe swayed in the wind, and his deep purple eyes quickly found Luo Yan.

“Captain!” Eclipse exclaimed happily.

Shen Ji Yun smiled and walked towards them.
