The Martial Emperor with Dragon Blood Chapter 1306 - 1307: Ye Mo’s True Identity (Part 1)
Previously on The Martial Emperor with Dragon Blood...
Entry into the Wraith Land necessitates passage through the Vanquishing Martial Realm, with formidable guardians present on both sides. Unauthorized entry is barred; only exchange students can successfully infiltrate the Wraith Land.
However, the Wraith Demon Emperor revealed an alternative route to the Wraith Land.
"What other method exists?"
Ye Mo initiated a dialogue with the Wraith Demon Emperor.
"Have you forgotten how I arrived on this continent? Previously, during my clash with the Soul Master, we obliterated a portion of the continent. That fragment, adrift in spatial turbulence, ultimately impacted the extreme northern reaches of your Lingwu Continent. This event created a breach into the Wraith Land. With the formation power of the Vanquishing Martial Realm now depleted, the binding force between the two continents has vanished. We can now traverse to the Wraith Land through this gap. Despite the inherent dangers of this path, it warrants consideration," the Wraith Demon Emperor explained.
The confrontation between him and the Soul Master in bygone days was indeed cataclysmic, capable of sundering continents.
Upon hearing this, Ye Mo nodded. This approach was undoubtedly viable. Opting for an exchange student program with the Dead Soul Royal Family carried risks of identity exposure and constant surveillance.
At this juncture, all gazes in the hall shifted to Ye Mo, anticipating his decision. Based on their knowledge of him, he was unlikely to concede easily.
When denied access to Bodhi Island, he went. When barred from the Vanquishing Martial Realm, he proceeded. Each instance resulted in significant advancements. It was probable he would choose to embark on this perilous journey again.
Even Ancestor Bodhi observed Ye Mo intently. Should Ye Mo express a desire to go, refusal would be difficult for him as Ye Mo's mentor, given his exceptional talent and prowess.
"Very well, I defer to everyone’s judgment."
Ye Mo exhaled and responded.
"What? You're not going?"
Ancestor Bodhi inquired with surprise.
This outcome was entirely unexpected by all present.
"What? Does Master wish for me to go?"
Ye Mo smiled, adding, "I find your arguments compelling. I shall remain on the continent to cultivate. Perhaps within a century, I might even eclipse Xue Wudi."
"Since you have made your decision, it is for the best."
Ancestor Bodhi nodded, then proceeded to deliberate on the selection of three talents from the Divine Venerate Realm.
This time, age was not a limiting factor, though candidates should not be excessively old. The objective was to identify the most promising cultivators at the Divine Venerate stage.
To everyone's astonishment, Ye Mo volunteered for the Wraith Land expedition, a decision Ancestor Bodhi did not oppose.
The remaining two individuals chosen were Jiumo Xing, a formidable practitioner from the Ancient Buddha Clan and Jiumo Dao's brother, and Tian Xingpo, a prodigy from the Heavenly Clan. Tian Xingpo, the closed-door disciple of the Heavenly Clan Ancestor, Tian Xinghun, had demonstrated remarkable skill in past Lingwu Continent talent competitions.
This assembly marked the final gathering for the Spirit Martial Alliance Army. Following the conclusion of the meeting, Ye Mo did not linger by Ancestor Bodhi's side. Essential guidance had been imparted; further growth depended on Ye Mo's personal comprehension.
Ye Mo resided with the Divine Beast Family. His initial intention was to host a grand wedding for Xiao Yue after the exchange students had been dispatched and continental peace was secured. However, Xiao Yue disagreed. Her reasoning was that marriage would grant Ye Mo the right to take liberties with her.
Nevertheless, Ye Mo recognized that despite the current semblance of peace, numerous threats loomed. While the Dead Soul Royal Family was occupied with the Wraith Clan and unable to focus its aggression on the Lingwu Continent, their attention would likely turn there upon defeating the Wraith Clan. Coupled with the formidable threat posed by Xue Wudi, an unparalleled genius from the Wraith Land, the Lingwu Continent faced significant peril.
Prodigies are not inherently fearsome; it is their growth into formidable beings that inspires dread.
Xiao Yue simply desired Ye Mo to dedicate himself fully to cultivation. Once the continent's overarching crisis was resolved, they could contemplate marriage, particularly since their advanced cultivation levels afforded them ample time.
"Ye Mo, Clan Master Zi Ning requests your presence."
A servant girl approached Ye Mo, her voice brimming with excitement.
All the recounted tales of Ye Mo were vivid in her memory, and standing before her idol now, her exhilaration was palpable.
"What does my mother require of me?"
A flicker of concern crossed Ye Mo's mind. Zi Xuantong nominally held the position of Clan Leader for the Divine Beast Family, yet he delegated administrative duties entirely to Zi Ning, keeping her constantly occupied.
Given the sheer scale of the Divine Beast Family, Zi Ning found herself personally overseeing every facet of its operations.
"Clan Master Zi Ning mentioned it was something extremely important. She stated that if she didn’t seek you out now, she might not have the opportunity later."
The maidservant conveyed.
"Understood!"
Ye Mo gave a nod, and instantly thereafter, he materialized at the Clan Leader’s estate.
The moment Zi Ning spotted Ye Mo’s arrival, she gestured, and a formidable energy barrier enveloped the entire estate, sealing it off from the external world.
"Mother, what is the meaning of this?"
Ye Mo inquired, a sense of curiosity in his voice.
"Mo’er, although our time together has been limited, I am well aware of your character. You are certainly not one to remain idle. Regardless of your plans to venture into the Wraith Land, I will not impede you. I have summoned you today for a crucial matter to impart."
Zi Ning gazed at her son, speaking with utmost seriousness.
"Mother, Mo’er comprehends. Only by journeying to the Wraith Land can I achieve true growth."
Ye Mo affirmed with a nod.
Zi Ning recognized that her son’s innate talents far eclipsed her own. This expedition to the Wraith Land could very well be the very path upon which Ye Mo would truly commence his journey as a powerful cultivator. By the time Ye Mo returned to the Lingwu Continent, even Zi Ning could not fathom the extent of his future power.
"Your father is not deceased."
Zi Ning uttered words so suddenly that Ye Mo was left stunned, unable to comprehend for a considerable duration.
"You may find this hard to believe, as was I initially. Just as you departed for the Vanquishing Martial Realm, his energy clone descended. I questioned him then, but he offered no explanation. He merely stated that his survival was due to your blessing, yet he dared not disclose your true identity. Because if it were revealed, even he could not protect you, as a multitude of individuals across the three worlds desire your demise. Fortunately, your capabilities have not yet been fully unleashed. Aside from him, no one is aware of your true identity."
Zi Ning elaborated further.
"My true identity?"
Ye Mo exclaimed in shock. "Am I not merely your child? What other true identity could I possibly possess? How could my identity possibly have saved my father? What is truly happening?"
"I possess no knowledge of this either."
Zi Ning replied, shaking her head. "Brother Qing mentioned he was going to the Vanquishing Martial Realm to find you. Did you not encounter him?"
"No, I did not."
Ye Mo shook his head, then asked, "Is Father genuinely not dead?"
"Mo’er, how could your mother possibly deceive you? He once conveyed that upon reaching the Immortal Position Realm in your Cultivation, you and your father would be able to truly meet. At that juncture, he shall unveil all the mysteries to you."
Zi Ning stated.
Ye Mo sank back into profound contemplation. Even the Wraith Demon Emperor found it difficult to accept that a mere identity could possess the power to resurrect someone from the clutches of death.
