The Long-awaited Mr Han Chapter 3579 Untitled
Dong Yujie's room maintained a remarkably simple and tidy appearance.
Little had changed, even when compared to the state of the room a year prior.
However, this was likely due to Dong Yujie lacking a true sense of belonging to the space.
Furthermore, the effort and time required to decorate the room would only be invested if she felt inclined.
Life had subjected Dong Yujie to numerous transformations, leaving her without the daily inclination to fuss over room decor.
Consequently, Dong Yujie's room fulfilled its primary function: providing a place for sleep.
This time, a laptop was a new addition upon the small, circular table within her room.
She had personally brought it back with her.
Beyond the laptop, no other alterations were present.
In the few days since her return, Dong Yujie felt she had acquired all she needed and had not sought any further purchases.
Jiang Huaizhou had moved out, yet Mrs. Dong never disturbed his former room, keeping it preserved for him.
"I recall when I first moved in, you generously allocated the largest master bedroom to my parents and the second largest to me. Since I no longer reside here, why don't you occupy my room?" Jiang Huaizhou inquired.
"I've simply grown accustomed to it," Dong Yujie responded. "Besides, during the over a year I was away, Mom also refrained from changing anything in your room."
Moreover, could she truly find tranquility if she were to reside in his former quarters?
It would not feel right.
Jiang Huaizhou surveyed Dong Yujie's room for a considerable duration.
To be quite frank, Dong Yujie's room left much to be desired in terms of aesthetics.
One could easily grasp the entirety of the room's decor at a mere glance; there was no need for a more scrutinizing examination to discern additional details.
Jiang Huaizhou then stated, "When we eventually share a home, you are forbidden from being so perfunctory. Our bedroom must be meticulously decorated.
Dong Yujie felt a subtle warmth creep into her face.
Earlier that morning, Jiang Huaizhou had broached the subject of their future children taking over the company and their own early retirement.
And now, he was requesting her to beautify their shared living space.
"Why don't you make a visit to my place this weekend?" Jiang Huaizhou proposed.
Jiang Huaizhou further elaborated, "My intentions are pure; I simply wish for you to become acquainted with the environment. Understand where I live and what my home entails. You could also register your fingerprint during your visit.
"The house is equipped with a fingerprint lock. You can simply scan your print when you come over again," Jiang Huaizhou explained, his mind already formulating plans.
"Familiarize yourself with the house first, and then we can head to the mall to see if there are any necessities we need. In your spare moments, you can also browse online shops for smaller decorative items and acquire anything that catches your eye," Jiang Huaizhou continued, his voice tinged with growing excitement. The envisioned future was becoming increasingly vivid and appealing.
Even the mere contemplation of it brought him a sense of joy.
"Actually, I reside alone, and my house is quite similar to your room – simple, with not many possessions," Jiang Huaizhou admitted.
"Your bedroom is considered adequate. This is the sole room that appears minimalist. Mom has done an admirable job decorating the other rooms.
"However, I live alone in that residence. My professional life keeps me occupied, and I am usually absent, thus I've never felt the inclination to decorate. That place has merely served as a dwelling. But I will absolutely make a hasty return home each day after work, knowing you will be there. This is precisely why we should endeavor to make our home feel warm and inviting," the mere thought of this prospect filled Jiang Huaizhou with delight.
"Hold on! How did this conversation shift into me residing with you? I believed we were merely discussing the decoration of this particular space," Dong Yujie interjected.
"Are you implying that you intend to redecorate this place to your preference without actually living here?" Jiang Huaizhou countered with a chuckle. "If you are going to imbue it with your personal style, then you must reside here."
Dong Yujie found herself at a loss for words.
"Alas. No, I am currently renting this place," Jiang Huaizhou disclosed. "Given that it is a rental, ownership still lies elsewhere. It is not my property, and thus, a sense of belonging is absent."
Consequently, despite Jiang Huaizhou's demanding work schedule and infrequent presence at home, he had never experienced the pangs of homesickness.
This lack of personal connection diminished his motivation for decorating.
After all, he understood that this would not be his permanent abode.
Upon the lease's expiration, he would have to relocate.
Acquiring numerous possessions would only complicate the moving process; he deemed it simpler to maintain a minimalist approach.
In his overwhelming excitement about their shared future, Jiang Huaizhou had momentarily overlooked this crucial detail.
"Perhaps we should begin our search for a property?" Jiang Huaizhou suggested.
"You are still in the process of building your business, and your company's stability is yet to be fully established. Purchasing a home at this juncture would impose significant financial strain," Dong Yujie cautioned, her memory still fresh from the business setbacks involving the Qu family.
She wanted to spare Jiang Huaizhou from any further burdens.
"I'm merely suggesting that should we decide to live together in the future," Dong Yujie proposed.
"There's no 'should,' Dong Yujie. We *will* live together, and we *will* get married," Jiang Huaizhou declared with unwavering finality, his tone leaving no room for conditional possibilities.
The word 'if' carried too much uncertainty for his liking.
Having navigated so much with Dong Yujie already, Jiang Huaizhou craved an end to any lingering doubts in their relationship. He desperately wanted no more 'ifs' to surface.
A serious expression replaced his usual smile as Jiang Huaizhou conveyed this sentiment to Dong Yujie.
Dong Yujie paused, startled by his intensity. Nevertheless, she nodded and responded, "Alright. I won't say that word again. There are no 'ifs' in our future."
"I'll need to purchase a home eventually anyway," Jiang Huaizhou added. "It wouldn't be right for you to live in a rented place after we're married, would it?"
"Regardless, we absolutely need to secure a house first," Dong Yujie agreed. Despite his company's success, buying a property outright presented a challenge for Jiang Huaizhou, especially after having already financed homes for both Mr. Jiang and Mrs. Dong.
"While buying outright or acquiring a larger residence might present some difficulty, I can manage to purchase one of a similar size to this current one, and I can certainly handle the down payment. Making the monthly mortgage payments will be no issue either," Jiang Huaizhou explained.
"Yes, acquiring a property is necessary for you," Dong Yujie affirmed. "But you're right, we don't need an enormous house. A place sufficiently spacious for the two of us will suffice."
"At the very least, it must have three rooms, right? One master bedroom for us, another for my office, and the last one for our child. Of course, if we happen to have two children, a four-room house would be even better," Jiang Huaizhou mused, contemplating their future needs.
"For now, a home of this size is perfectly adequate for us. Once the company is more stable, we can relocate to a better place," Jiang Huaizhou stated.
Listening to Jiang Huaizhou lay out these future plans filled Dong Yujie with a profound sense of security.
He was meticulously planning their life together.
Her inclusion, and that of their potential children, was central to his vision.
"Um…" Mrs. Dong appeared at the doorway, her voice cutting through the air.
"Dinner is served," she announced.
The pair hadn't been engaged in anything strenuous; their conversation was simply one of shared thoughts. Consequently, as the three of them emerged from the room, a sense of ease permeated the atmosphere.
As they settled down, Dong's mother inquired, "When I came to fetch you just now, I overheard you discussing the purchase of a house?"
Dong Yujie began, "Yes. My bro…"
"Are you still referring to him as your elder brother?" Mrs. Dong interjected, correcting her gently. "You shouldn't address him that way anymore."
