The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1789: Return of the Asura Race (16)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
"Something is wrong," Nyxaroth said five minutes after he had given the order to his men to kill the Fates.
He knows his mean and knows what they are capable of, so after five minutes, the three fates remained alive; he knew something had happened to them, all 30 of them.
"What is wrong?" Vaelkris, the patriarch of the Vaelkris Ancient Family, asked.
"My men have failed their mission. They are dead."
"WHAT?" Drakhar’s eyes turned cold. "How did they fail such a simple mission?"
"The Paragon has someone inside the darkness, shadows and the void. And since ten men failed to pass through either channel, it is clear the Paragon had already anticipated this move and made preparations for that."
The six patriarchs turned and looked at Paragon, who was looking at them with a smile on his face.
"Bastard," Tikkun cursed at him.
Even now that he knew his son Matthew and bastard son Mark were still alive, he clearly had no plans to back down. Initially, he claimed he had come for revenge against the Paragon for killing his children.
But it is clear they are alive and well, yet he still had no plans to back down.
Maybe after many eras had passed, he believed he didn’t need them anymore, or maybe the reward he was promised was just too good that he could not allow himself to see reason.
So what if his sons are siding with the Paragon? He has many out there who support him anyway.
"I am indeed a bastard. After all, I came from an egg," Paragon laughed. "But if you dumbasses think you can pull a fast one on me, know you have another thing coming."
His laughter spread across the battlefield.
Nyxaroth chewed his lips. "You know what, Paragon? To hell with you. I will not allow myself to be insulted."
From the ranks of the Nyxaroth Ancient Family, 100 assassins entered the void, 100 through the darkness and 100 through the shadows.
If ten cannot do it, 100 can. He had no shortage of assassins, after all.
Paragon frowned, which made Nyxaroth smile, thinking he had made the right call.
’Ah, what an idiot. He clearly didn’t seem to take the hint.’ Paragon informed his teams positioned inside the void, shadows and darkness that they had incoming.
Five minutes later, Nyxaroth frowned, but the next moment, a team of a thousand assassins was deployed through each channel again. Another five minutes later, he frowned.
But by then, people watching from home began to notice that the number of warriors from the Nyxaroth Ancient Family was declining. However, they didn’t know what to say since they had no idea what was happening.
Paragon, however, moved closer to the cage holding the patriarchs and sat down.
"30 minutes more, losers. And hey, looks like I will soon be a Supreme," he pointed at Asura, whose body was now radiating a denser Supreme aura.
He hasn’t broken through yet, but he is on track to do so.
Some gritted their teeth while some clenched their fists.
"Why don’t you tell me what the heavens promised you? Maybe I can double it for you," Paragon asked with a grin on his face.
He planned to tease them a little to get their blood boiling, maybe even score a few nosebleeds.
However, before they could react, the crack in the sky widened, and from its dark maw, a large butterfly beast flew out, radiating the presence of a Primordial.
Behind it, tens of thousands of chaos beasts of different shapes and sizes poured out and rushed forward, killing intent coming off their bodies.
"Ha, looks like you will soon be dead, Paragon," Aetherion said, his handsome face showing a satisfied smile. The other patriarchs also wore smiles.
As long as Klaus and his teammates became overwhelmed, they would get a chance to kill the Fates.
However, instead of seeing a panicked expression on Paragon’s face, they saw a smile plastered across it...
They immediately felt a sense of foreboding.
"Lulu, my love, do it."
They turned to their left, where Lulu rose into the air, surrounded by ten swords, each controlled by Klaus’s father, Hunter. As she flew up, the swords cut down every beast that dared come closer to her.
After flying much higher, she pressed her index and middle fingers between her brows and closed her eyes. She muttered some strange words, and then she snapped her eyes open.
The moment she did, they glowed silver, and then from behind her, a large silver eye opened.
"Soul Shock!"
BOOOM
An invisible energy came from the eye and slammed into the souls of the newly arriving chaos beasts. Their advance faltered for a moment, but it was enough for Lulu to send a mental command.
Suddenly, the approaching horde paused and turned toward the warriors of the six ancient families.
"Huh?"
Drakhar’s eyes widened, but it did nothing to stop what was coming. They could only watch as thousands of chaos beasts lunged at their warriors.
"BASTARD!"
They cursed, raining insults at Paragon, who had a smile on his face. "Never offend me, losers. Trust me, the last thing you want is to mess with me." Paragon stood up and dropped one last cold statement...
"Now watch your men get wiped out. Maybe that will finally snap you awake."
Klaus from Earth would not make such a call because his upbringing as a human would not allow him. But Paragon had no problem sacrificing these warriors to prove his point.
The chaos beasts came for all, and so they could either fight or watch their own kin get wiped out.
The six legions found themselves besieged, and with their lives threatened, they forgot their patriarchs were even around.
"KILL!" They charged forward, and just like that, their sightseeing was over.
Matthew and Mark, who were fighting side by side, saw this, and they could only sigh. They knew Paragon, the one from the Primordial Era, so they weren’t surprised he made such a call.
But it was still heartbreaking to see their own people now fighting for their lives. Soon, some started dying, and unfortunately for them, they would never rise again since Asmodeus had no plans to exhaust his mental and soul power to wake them up.
Unless, of course, they were Pseudo-Primordials.
Paragon looked at the six patriarchs and said, "All this can be stopped if you sign the blood contract with me."
SCREEEECHHH
The sky darkened, and the butterfly lunged at Aster. However, it didn’t get far because an angel burning like the sun blocked its path.
"Good luck, big brother, for you are going to need all the luck in the universe," Paragon said to the Burning Angel, who ignored him and pointed his spear at the butterfly.
